New to Warhammer 40k, just fell in love with the lore... These are my firsts models ever, tell me what do you think. Planning on building an Astra Militarum Tank Regiment. I'm trying to collect each kind of vehicle of the impérial Guard, so, these are my first two ! https://imgur.com/a/cadia-tank-bataillon-hjzZr5d

My WIP Astra Militarum force
AstraMilitarumguy posted a gallery image in Astra Militarum / Imperialis Auxilia
From the album: WIP Units
A WIP of a Astra Militarum force, not a great image. I'm not great at photos and lighting. If I had a better light source and white background this would (in my opinion) look better-

This is a project that I've wanted to do for a while and what better time to launch it then at the eve of ETL III? However, before any more blabber, I'd like to show the picture that really got this started for me: (Art by Karl Kopinski; source - Codex: Imperial Guard, 3rd Edition, 2nd version) As well know, the Cadians are some of the best fighting troops available to the Departmento Munitorum. They hail from Cadia, the fortress-world that guards the only known passage into (and out of) the Eye of Terror, and have fought wars all over the galaxy against almost any foe imaginable. Cadian Shock Trooper regiments are requested by Imperial generals and warlords from across the galaxy because the Cadians are loyal to the Emperor alone and they will hold the line in the face of the enemy. Among them however, are the Kasrkin, elite of the elite. Now, I could try and write some shabby description about how awesome the Kasrkin are, but I think that quoting the famed Dan Abnett from his Eisenhorn series is a much better idea on this occasion. So yeah, that's the Kasrkin for you. Now, with the fact that they are "though-arse bastards" established, we can move onto the modeling side of things. Right now, until I/we receive word from GW, the Kasrkin models that they produced are unavailable. Now, on one side, this is a real damn shame since the models were real beauties. For those of you who haven't seem them or who need a refresher, see the picture below. On the other hand, not having these models readily available is a boon for people like me who would like to have an army of Kasrkin models but can't (I don't like eBay and trading only goes so far). Also, since they're completely metal, they're mono-pose models, which makes them a bit boring after a while. So, what am I going to do? I'm going to use GW/FW Imperial Guard pieces (I'm thinking of using the basic rebreather heads from Forge World), Green Stuff and plastic card to make my own Kasrkin models (though sticking as much as possible to the original sculpts) to then have a whole army of elite Kasrkin squads (with attached vehicles, of course). My secondary goal is to also have a hefty amount of background fluff to go with this army/regiment to make it that slight bit more unique, which I will build up over time. So, my current to-do list is as follows: Pick up at least one box of Cadians to get started with (basic armour additions to the model, establishing which details to add, etc.); Order the Infantry Rebreather upgrade kit from Forge World to see what additions can be made to the helmets (extra auspex nodes, sights, etc.); Establish the colour scheme for the army (classic Cadian green armour with red-and-beige patterns and beige fatigues or another scheme, like a desert camo scheme or a ice waste environment scheme?); Get a decent army list written up and torn apart by the locals here; ??? Profit?? I'll be visiting my local indie store within the next few days to pick up supplies, which means that I should be able to get a decent start very soon Until then, the Emperor protects!

So, after multiple revisions to my Space Wolves Great Company (also watching the entirety of The Pacific and Hacksaw Ridge) I wondered, what would WW2 trench warfare style Space Wolves look like. I am still working that out, however I do know what they sound like. Just like my other post I need to know if this is feasible. When Cadia fell and the Wolves were left crippled, they escaped with as many civilians and Cadian Guard as possible. One such ship was the Arctic Angel. On the course of her return to Fenris she was were harried by Daemons following the Eyes rapid expansion. Every time they attacked they took lives with them, Fenrisian and Cadian alike. The Wolves and Cadians both civilian and soldier fought, of which only the strongest of will, body, and mind remained. For 19 Terran months they hunted daemons throughout the ship wherever they appeared. Despite all odds they persevered. When they came out above Fenris they were beaten, bloodied, but unbroken. The same could not be said for the Arctic Angel as the ship's engines sputtered out leaving them to the whim of Fenris' orbit upon exiting the Warp. The losses during the fall of Cadia were great, so much so that the chapter was desperate for new recruits. Arguments echoed through the halls of the Fang, debates over the tradition of recruiting from Fenris. This on top of the fact no suitable recruits were nearby, and even if there was the newly formed Great Rift made it no easy task reaching them. In low orbit hanging above the world of eternal winter was their answer. Young boys from Cadia raised alongside the warriors and culture of Fenris while fighting daemons to simply survive. An opportunity the Wolf Priests were loathe to pass up. Please tell me if this conflicts with any of the lore or events of the Fall of Cadia. I do know however the Space Wolves can recruit non Fenrisians, they simply don't out of tradition. But in the face of necessity tradition is compromisable. But I could be wrong. Either way I would like feedback, any and all criticism is welcome.

Hello, I would like to share with you my side project. Someone know, that I am working on Ultramarines 4th Battle Company and this one is my side project as a rest from Space Marine painting. Please find some Astra Militarum minis. I just started them, so I don't have much to share.
