So I recently bought Kaldor Draigo as I’ve become interested in the Grey Knights & well the model looks good, the sprue was a pain in the ass! The helmet came separated from the rest of the sprue & had a lot of excess resin on it (especially around the neck), the boots have extra resin to where I’m gonna need to file it down carefully, there were connections in weird & hard to reach spots that made me nervous & while removing the sword arm a bit of the pauldron chipped! I’ve bought a few custom resin bits (heads & chainsword arms), but they’ve all been solid & rather easy to remove without damaging them or second guessing where the bit starts & the sprue (or excess resin) ends. As you can probably imagine, this being my first experience with GW resin models, I am kinda skeptical about buying any more without knowing if this is the exception or the rule, so my question is, of course, does anyone have experience with buying GW resin models & are all/most of them as messy & troublesome or did I just happen to buy one of the bad ones?

I know that most custom SM chapters typically involves making an offshoot of a pre-established chapter, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice for creating a chapter based on the idea of one of the unknown/redacted primarchs. I’m sure that implementing such an idea would involve a hell of a lot of knowledge concerning the lore & finagling to make things make sense & not completely break the lore too much, but I feel like I would want to try something like this for one chapter idea that has been in my mind for a while now. I suppose the long & the short of it is: has anyone else ever tried to implement a new primarch into the lore & made it make sense? If so, what tips would you give to others who aspire to do the same?

I'm planning what to buy and want to make sure this stratagem is useful. Prismatic Dimensional Breach: Use this strategem in the reinforcement step of your movement phase. Select one <core> unit from your reserve then select one <dynasty> Night Scythe or Monolith model that is on the battlefield. Set up that <core> unit anywhere on the battlefield that is wholly within 3" of that Monolith or Night Scythe model and not within Engagement Range of any enemy units. This strategem cannot be used turn one. So, can this be used on Monoliths and Night Scythes that have come in from reserve this turn? The way I read it, they can. It doesn't say to use at the start of the reinforcement step or that the target unit must not have moved but I just started collecting so... As a Mephrit player, I do believe deep striking a Night Scythe with 10 S7 Ap-1 Tesla Cannon shots T2 then having it drop off twenty Warriors with ap-3 within 7.5" Gauss Reapers about 6 inches away from an enemy could be a legitimate strategy. Add exploding, auto wounding or mortal wounding on 6's strategems as you see fit. It would certainly be a distraction. 3cp and 405 points. Thoughts?

I've been having a lot of trouble with a few paints recently, namely Zandri Dust, Celestra Grey, Ushabti Bone, And White Scar. When I paint them on the models the paint seems to clump slightly and result in a chalky texture. At first I thought that I needed to add more water, but that seems to make it worse. Using very little water helps but I am worried about obscuring detail. I am using a wet pallet when thinning my paints and all the paints I'm getting this with are new, just being obtained in the last 6 months or so. Is there any advice from people who have had similar issues? Or is this just something that I'm going to have to practice more to get the hang of?

I have a really fun stand alone model idea that I want to try and build. However to do it I want the marine to be a little more physically imposing than a standard Astartes. That being said I find the Mk 10 Power Armour doesn't have anywhere near the right look for the armour I want, instead Mk III from Forge world is a much better fit. I was wondering if anyone had any experience combining the two different sizes of marines, for example the Primaris legs with the standard marine torso/arms? Thanks in advance

I'm very new to B&C, though I know the general swing of things, and I had a question: I plan to expand the lore and info of the official White Templars space marine chapter, as I find them interesting and we know very little about them, but I'm not sure if I would be able to post such expansion(s) as an Index Astartes post, as that section of B&C is dedicated to homebrew chapters, not official ones. (I would format it very similarly to a homebrew chapter post) So, would that be against the rules/guidelines of Index Astartes? If this is is already answered somewhere else, then I apologize for not finding it.

If I am playing a 2,000pt Grand Tournament 2020 game is the maximum number of canoptek plasmacytes i can have 3, even if I have over 3 destroyer units? As the rules for a game that size seem to say you can only have the same datasheet 3 times. Does the viral construct rule allow more? As it is not clear to me it does over rule the 3 datasheet rule, although I think that is what it is meant to do?

What if... The Primarchs were found in a different order? The one that I fnd most interesting to consider is the idea of Magnus the Red being found first and Motarion being found last. I would imagine that this would lead to the Librarium's being well established by the time Mortaion is found and the Council of Nikea probably not being a thing. However I can't see Mortarion being a fan of psykers after being subjected to Barbarus for even longer. I would think that he would likely try to separate his legion (Death Guard) from the Imperium and would likely become a rallying point for any with a distrust f the psyker. Concurrently, if the psychic powers of the Imperium were guided by Magus from their inception, it Imperiums psychic powers would probably be alot more like sorcery than the more constrained powers the Imperiums currently exhibits. *Bonus - Angron doesn't get found until after his dies with his gladiator brothers on Nuceria. Afte finding out about this the War Hounds (World Eathers in main 40K) Go on a ramgape and murder the world in their grief. But would they then stay as raging barbarians? Or would this drive them to emulate the 'champion of the enslaved' arcchtype that Angron was? What 'what if' do you like to think about?
