Cosmic Space Knights (of doom)

Doghouse

Recommended Posts

Doghouse, damn you. Really, I hope you have a good excuse for being able to make all this so good, and find time to do the Gothic Marines, and the Space Sharks and still apparently have a life.

By the way, if I had have been drinking something it would have ended up on the screen. This is actually, genuinely funny in a light hearted, poking fun manner and not the crappy insults that so often seem to pass for humour. In fact, it's almost Python-esque in it's humour - the greatest compliment I can think to bestow on you!

Seriously, keep up the work mate.

I like the idea of the mirror carrying servator.

You can work it pretty easy

It looks like you have to chop off the eagle and make it look like a huge hand mirror with the thinner part that goes down his legs being the handle.

Now the real question is to paint a Van Damage/servator on the mirror or track down a real mirror that size.

Thanks guys! -_-

Vassakov: Thanks mate, being a fan of the old monty python stuff that's a true compliment. I'm just disappointed that everyone keeps laughing at my stuff, it's supposed to be serious!!!

esinhorn: What I'm going to do is build the model from scratch using a Lt Varren model as a base (I can't afford any new stuff for armies anymore... :( ) and scratch build the mirror. I hadn't thought about including a reflection though, that's great idea.

Maybe I could do a scarey face in it like the one in Snow White?

I could even turn the fake Maximus into some complete nut job who talks to a minor daemon bound in the mirror that only he can see.

That'd be creepy though...

TheReclusiarch: Nice one, I'm glad you're both enjoying it. ;)

Reworking Bruvva Grimtoof part deux

After much debate I've decided to try and rescue the original model rather than resculpt him as I'm now aiming for a 2000pt game to take place at Warhammer World next year.

I've started apllying washes, cleaned up the reds and started his unique chapter icon. All going well I'll return to the model and redo him but I need to get on with the army.

Next up will be Brother Sergeant Meatshield and after a long search through all my "safe places to put stuff so they don't get lost" Chief Librarian Spandex the Grey!

Bruvva Grimtoof looks even better now Doghouse. I'm glad you didn't replace this model. :) My friend's starting an Ork army and I think I know what I'll be demanding him for in the "elite" section... How did you make the model anyway? Do you have a tutorial?

Keep up the impressive work.

Thanks mate! :)

I added GS ribbed sections to the joints of the model, ie; knees, wrists, etc. When this was dry I just added armoured plates, the helmet was crudely made from a plastic iron jaw stuck on a regular ork helmeted head and GSed over.

No worries mate! :P

Quick Update...

WIP Brother Sergeant Meatshield

Meatshield is from the short story I wrote for the Scouring of Vengist IV. Basically he's the standard marine in the command squad that takes the first hit so that the more useful specialists survive. Hence his rather battered and beaten up appearance.

WIP Spandex the Grey

Spandex is the Chief (and only) Librarian for the CSK(od). I have an epic backstory for him but I'm absolutely shattered and the best I can manage is that he is a wizardy bloke right now which is kind of disappointing really.

Some of you may be able to spot which really old plastic model I used to make him out of. The little stick he's holding is explained in the story...honest!

WIP Brother Bigscale

Brother Bigscale is the first of the tactical marines I'm working on right now. Basically it's a light hearted dig at my obsession with making bigger marines taken to the extreme. I'm just building up his power armour at the moment so he's pretty rough.

More to follow like the painting of the first two, more (Former) Emperor's Champion Large McHuge updates, the company banner and hopefully some tacticals so stay tuned...

He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy.

He's also named Doghouse......

This just gets more funny every time I check this thread, it really does. It's got to the stage when I only have dinner after seeing it else my stomach would split wide open.

Thanks guys! :)

I seriously appreciate the support, it's spurring me on to get this army finished.

Iacton Qruze: Got it in one! I removed the arms and feet, cut the greaves of a BfM marine and added some power armoured arms. The stick is just a stick... :)

Paladin7221: I rolled up laughing when I read that quote!

Maybe I should stick a disclaimer in before I post pictures "This thread may seriously damage your health and should not be viewed by those of a nervous disposition." ;)

Thanks guys!

Ekkanus: Sorry about that mate! B)

Vaan Damage's mirror hasn't been started just yet as I'm working on the rest of the squad first before moving onto the finer details.

Hopefully the design for the standard will go down well though, might want to make sure that you're not drinking anything when you look at it though. It makes me laugh just thinking about the design I've created...is that wrong???

Nicorex: I have been hunting around for a spare wolf tail talisman from the Space Wolves sprue. If I can dig one out I'll definately be adding one to him. :HQ:

At the moment the back looks like this...

Brother grimtooths chapter badge is awesome.

maybe give brother meatshield the big pouches on his belt and paint red crosses on them like he carries around a big ole first aid kit for himself.

The Librarian should have some kind of dig toward the Harry Potter crowd

and Brother Bigscale what can I say,If you cannot laugh at yourself you are lost

Precisely what I was thinking! I love this thread, it proves that 40k can be lighthearted, fun, and entertaining! Cheers Doghouse for the stitch in my side, and the comic relief

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA! :P Absolute genius Doghouse and I most certainly agree with other members of this being Monty Python esque. We've allready had the shrubberies (with a little path going down the middle...) and the so called messiah. Perhaps next we can have the upper class twit of the year awards with the commanders orf the chapter...

Bigscale looks great. I wonder if he hangs out at "Burger Emperor" often. ;)

Keep it up.
