Cosmic Space Knights (of doom)

Doghouse

Brilliant. McHuge is an absolutely inspired model.

Keeping with the bargain armour idea, why not have a wheeler-dealer Techmarine? Rubbing his hands together, with a couple of scrawny helpers.

"That's worf quite a bit, mate, but for you, ha's abat we call it 50 creds?"

Thanks guys!

I think that I may have done too good a job on the S.A.P. as no-one pointed him out skillfully infiltrating these pictures.

Thanks guys and well done to TheDarkApostle who clearly is immune to the Curse of the Absurd. ;)

War Angel: That made me laugh when I read your reply!

Maximus Vaan Damage's Personal Assistants

This is an idea that I had when making the Rules Lawyer. So that I can include more Serfs, which are key to the background material of the CSK(od) I'm including some personal assistants. The idea is that these guys will be used as wound markers for Maximus and as he loses a wound I'll simply remove one of his aids.

Being assigned to Maximus as an assistant is to assigned a life of misery and suffering that few could dare to imagine. His endless demands and narcissistic ways are enough to make even the strongest willed individuals want to throw themselves in front of a rabid Carnifex.

As a result the asssistants will willingly throw themselves into the path of any incoming shots just to end the suffering. Maximus however sees this differently believing that the Serfs love him so much that they would gladly sacrifice their own lives to save him.

The Curse of the Absurd however cruelly makes sure that they survive the attacks no-matter what hits them. The other Serfs are so afraid that they will end up as a replacement Assistant that they will ensure the wounded assistants are patched up with bionics in time for them to wake up just in time for his next toe nail trimming session.

There will be two of these guys, each representing a wound with the last wound being Maximus himself. They will be in the same colours as the Rules Lawyer but have red armour instead of yellow.

Because everyone knows that the redshirts get it first, I presume?

Nice use of the old Eldar power fist.

Haha the S.A.P in the pictures was great, noticed him but didnt pay much attention!

I could have been accidently shot by him when the S.A.P was trying to readjust the straps holding the bush to his armour! ;)

Quick Update...

I've managed to get started on Maximus, I've been playing around with the metallics and just started the red and the face.

i like the purple i think. but you should apply it in such a fasion that it looks like a sloppy paint job over the gunmetal because the uscs are a bunch of lazy guys

also that S.a.p in all those pics is hilarious

'Let me tell you youngsters how we did it in MY DAY...' hed have to look older and alot mental compared to everyone else... just a suggestion anyhoo!

Thanks guys! :(

Invictus_BA: I decided against it in the end because it wouldn't be the same painting these guys in purple. The silver was originally a sort of playful dig at people that don't paint their armies and so I decided to stick with it.

The original concept behind the CSK(od) was of someone that thought marines rocked but really didn't want to put alot of effort into their army. ;)

Wiggles 2.0: I know the one you mean. Back in the day over on Warseer people kept asking me if they could make CSK(od) armies of their own so I came up with the Screaming Weasels successor chapter so that they could go crazy with their own ideas. One guy made a marine just like that, infact that may well be the same one.

son of nocturne: Nice idea mate! ^_^

ok when painting redshirt primus i wouldn't advise giving him black hair, he might end up looking a little too much like a certain german dictator, im serious though, dont do it!

paint it light brown and then he would look like a streotypical british commander from WW1

Hmm, think you might be right there, especially with his hand in that position. :jaw:

Quick Update

Still working on Maximus in between the dramas of every day life (I need a vacation...). I've done a little more to skin and begun basecoating the gold areas. I'll be applying washes to ther red to blend in the more extreme highlights.

Here's the original (Former) Emperor's Champion Large McHuge that I made. I'll be using the heraldry on his shoulderpad but other than that the new model will be a lot different.

Each of the characters will have a slightly different chapter badge that shows that they are champions of the curse. Slab has an eye parch on his as he's only got one eye, McHuge as you can see below has an knight's helm and Vaan Damage will probably have something vain like a picture like himself.

I saw the S.A.Ps Doghouse, I just forgot to mention them. ;) Large McHuge is definitely one of the best models I've seen for a long time. I just wish I had your GS abilities. :) The painted version of him looks good to.

Regarding Maximus could I recommend you using a black or similar on the winged skull on the combi plasma instead of the gold all the way over the weapon?

Keep it up and I look forward to more (including your tank ).
