Cosmic Space Knights (of doom)

That's what I was thinking actually.

I can see it going something like:

TECHMARINE: "What's with the purple then?"

CHAPTER SERF: "Purple is the colour of the Emperor, a portent of the great things that our beloved Chapter will achieve and symbolic of our proud and noble heritage. With it we shall strike terror into our enemies as they see that our brave warriors stride boldy into battle without fear, taking pride in their colours!"

TECHMARINE: "You got a job lot cheap from a Forge World because no other Chapter will touch the stuff and just made all that other stuff up to impress me didn't you."

***AWKWARD SILENCE***

CHAPTER SERF: "Erm...well...it's like this...erm...you see...well yes actually...but we spent the cash we saved on beer!"

TECHMARINE: "DUDE!"

***TECHMARINE HIGH FIVES CHAPTER SERF***

First, Doghouse, this entire thread and concept is hysterically awesome!

If you go with the "got a good deal on it" idea for the purple, you could throw in random armor sections in other colors, too, because they were on sale at the time. :)

Doghouse I am stunned and doubled up with laughter from this thread (Despite me having two injured hands making typing and clicking a mouse difficult right now). Nothing apart from the EPS has ever given mew such laughter. Methinks I may make a small 5-man squad of these guys saying that they came over to Wales for a small "beer crusade" namely for some Double Dragon (or Salamander) more than anything. :)

If you make a Techmarine and servitor squad perhaps the combat servitors use picket signs saying "save our jobs! Less painting more playing" as close combat weapons. Maybe as well as that the Techmarine posseses a small chain that holds all of the keys of the vehicles.

I look forward to seeing the fire magnet built up fully.

I think what you should do is a 3 way vertical split (i.e. the body is one colour, then the left arm and leg are another, and then the right is another) and then pick three space marine chapters.

Going off of the sale and scrap idea. You could have a marine with the top torso in power armor and his lower half legs and undies. Then a marine right next to him with a "Wife Beater" tank top on with power armor bottoms

Cheers guys! :P

I haven't got too much free time today despite it being the weekend to get much of anything done but have put this together as a teaser of things to come to get the ball rolling.

I'm concidering sticking to the original colour scheme now as I've been playing around with the purple but find that I'm liking the metallics more as I find the logic behind it quite funny.

Getting started...

It's been ages since I first started these guys and to be honest although they never really got off the ground as an army they were great fun.

As it stands I never really had a proper bash at paint or modeling as they were orignally only intended to be a commnad squad but due to popular demand they began to emerge as a proper army.

Supreme Grand Chapter Master Slab Benchpress

This is the original chapter master for the CSK(od) and the place where all the craziness first started. Basically I've touched up a few areas and given him a coat of dull coat to tone the metallics down.

I may go back and redo the model from scratch as I often regret rushing these guys and feel that I could ahve done a much better job had I taken my time.

For now though here he is in all his glory.

Bruvva Grimtoof

Now I definately regret rushing this guy. Here is the original model as he is now. I'm going to have to go back and redo him from scratch I think as my GS skills have improved since then and I can definately make a better model of him.

As far as the codex for th army goes it might be time to bite the bullet and use the chaos renegades codex. This doesn't mean that they are full chaos worshippers or anything like that though, it just means that it's the most recent marine 'dex and technically speaking they are chaos marines.

Well here's the first proper update in god knows how long...

WIP Captain Maximus Vaan Damage

Vaan Damage is not only the Captain of the first company (which is almost third of the chapter) but also the source of genetic material for the clone army.

Vaan Damage's exploits are legendary amongst the ranks of CSK(od) albeit some what exaggerated. He is in truth completely deluded to the point where he wholeheartedly believes the stories that he sees even the smallest obstacle as a challenge that must be overcome no-matter the cost.

The Astartes of the Chapter revere him as the greatest living hero of their time and often compare his exploits to those of the Primarchs.

The USCS however think that he's a complete jerk who get's them killed on a regular basis.

WIP Command Squad

This is the command squad that will be accompanying Vaan Damage into battle.

Standard Bearer and Veteran Sergeant

Both are fairly WIP at the moment. The standard will depict the defeat of the Pan'Zee Craftworld at the hands of the CSK(od). They will both recieving the "Foe-Fether" pattern bolter upgrades.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b141/Doghouse12/Picture083-1.jpg

Bruvva Grimtoof and Medic

Grimtoof may yet be remodeled but for the medic I'm going for the "Hmm, not sure I can fix this" pose. I'll be adding dismembered parts of a clone to the base later.

Bruvva Grimtoof

Something about Bruvva Grimtoof isn't quite...well...right. Like so much of the Chapter's history little is known of his origins but he turned up claimiing to be a lost member of the Chapter. Coincidently it was just about the same time as the CSK(od) departed from Armageddon.

He had his own set of power armour (which was suspiciously like Brother Redshirt's armour before he went behind a large rock on his own to check for energy readings and was never seen again) so they figured his story checked out.

Bruvva Grimtoof is a proxy marine. These are the models that players use to "represent" a marine when they don't have enough models. Rather than just use an Ork model I decided to give him a crude form of power armour so that he can pass himself off as a marine.

(Former) Emperor's Champion Large McHuge

Quite possibly the most tragic member of the CSK(od), back when the chapter thought they were Black Templar Successors Large McHuge had been selected to be the Emperor's Champion but now they are Dark Angel Successors he has been demoted to Company Champion.

McHuge constantly goes on about the time he slew a Carnifex much to the annoyance of the rest of the chapter. The truth was that it was infact already lay mortally wounded and he accidently stabbed it in the head when he tripped over his own cloak. That's not how he tells the story however...

The idea here is that he has snagged his claok on a bit of scrap and is desperately trying to free it as the battle rages all around him.

I still have to clean up the lower part of the cloak and add the sword stuck in the ground.

Haha class, i can just imagine him as the "down on his luck constantly" marine in the chapter. Looking good so far Doghouse, loving this army. Nice to see that there are people out there that don't take this hobby too "seriously"! Can't wait for more updates.

Thanks guys!

McHuge is one of my favourite characters but I do feel really sorry for him.

Here's the first S.A.P. pretty much finished, just a few bits to touch up here and there.

Right one last shot before I call it a day...

I've begun work on the Foe-Fether pattern bolters for the command squad but still need to clean up the join and smooth them out a little.

Either Large, Grimtoof or the S.A.P scout are the best from this go-around, my money's on Large!

Consider the camouflage idea shamelessly and quite blatantly half-inched!

lol...yay for large I was waiting for that guy to be made fantastic job on the cloak. As before great stuff can't wait to see more. I'm going to have to do a Tactical squad in where everythings going wrong. Its to tempting not too, I hope you don't mind me copying the idea behind your guys. It should be nice to have some comedy in a some what fairly serious army that I have.

Oh by the way, loving the repaint on Slab Benchpress.

Eberious: Go for it mate, anything to further the cause of the Curse of the Absurd and increase my demonic power is fine by me! :D

Oh wait...did I say that last bit out loud...I'm not a demon...I'm...erm...move along nothing to see! :D

Here's the finished version of the Rules Lawyer, the rules for which can be found several pages back.

I think that I need to include more Chapter Serfs in the army as wargear proxies because they are such brilliant characters and deserve some attention.

For those that can't be bothered to look back at the rules the Rules Lawyer is a Health and Safety Representative of the USCS to ensure safety for it's members on the battlefield. They're not well liked by the Clones and generally end end up dead.

In the old rules they counted as an Auspex and Combat Shield but nowadays are just a Combat Shield. :(

snorkle: Thanks mate, yeah I've decided to stick with the Dark Angels codex now though.

Iron Ri: Thanks mate, I'll use that on the banner!

Chaplain Clench Bigtorso

This an early shot of yet another character for the army that I've just begun work on. I'm going to go for a sinister look for the model and the Dark Angel bits were perfect for this.

I may need to do a flagellant style Reclusium squad to accompany him. I've also started the first tactical squad but it's nothing worth showing just yet.
