Oops!

Right, here's the question:

Name the transport that took the DA to Corinth to reinforce the Planetary Defence forces which were under threat from a Tyranid invasion.

There, nice and easy. :D

Weren't there some really big battles with the Prks and UM at Corinth? Multiple times? Man, what a tough neighborhood.

I think we have a different idea of what easy means Gillyfish ;)

Thanks Lemariont.

The correct answer was 'Vengeful Blade'.

Another question be forthcoming on Monday.

I believe that means I have three point (two correct answers and one impossible to answer question).

How about a softball for those of use without a huge WD collection.

Sorry ODM. Actualy I just re-read my post and realised that it came across as quite arrogant! Oops - thta's what happens when you write something in a hurry I suppose. :P

At least this one isn't from a WD...

There was a Captain called Gabriel of the Deathwing (or just Deathwing as it was known back then) who led his men in the cleansing of a palace which was infested with Genestealer Hybrids. He also had a 'Plains World' name (although he wasn't involved in the Plains World 'incident'. My question is - can you give his Plain World name?

Here is my question.

What was the fate of Sergeant Abdaziel Magron?

As a bonus question, how did he learn the truth about the Horus Heresy? Be specific.

Good Luck!

He was launched into space and there drifted alone.

Nope, however, I have the feeling from your answer you may know his story.

I'm going to have to check my source material too, but if I recall as Mattias says, he was blasted into space during a space battle where he went into a sort of hibernation. He later was told a rather interesting version of the heresy by a Chaos marine before learning the truth and turning himself over to his old Chapter.

Getting there. Since you know so much Gilly, you must answer the bonus question too!

Okay. I have the book in front of me:

Magron took part in a space battle against the World Eaters during the Heresy. In the course of the battle they engaged the traitors in combat on the outside of a spaceship which then got struck by parts of an exploding planet, sending Magron drifting into space before his sus-ann membrane kicked in.

In the 41st millenium he was found and awakened by the Chaos marine Abbadas and told that the Emperor had lost the war and died. Believing this, Magron was inducted into the ways of Chaos. As he was about to commit himself to Khorne a navigator interrupted the ceremony and told him that the Emperor still lived. Magron then ate Abbadas' brain to discover the truth. A daemonette then drew him into breaking up a possible alliance between Khorne and Tzeentch. Magron was then captured by the Imperium and handed to the Dark Angels who interrogated him. He repented and was granted a quick death.

Is that enough detail?

Well, it's pretty vague :) but I guess it will have to do.

I swear I thought that reference would have taken longer. Maybe if I hadn't included the bonus question.

You're up.

Oh yes, there's also an old Ian Watson book called Space Marine about the Imperial Fists where a group of Space Marine Scouts eat the brains of an Emperor titan's crew and take it over, blasting apart a few other titans. Great book, sadly I don't think it's available anymore.

The glands that marines have aren't talked about that much anymore. For example, most Chapters are supposed to be able to spit poison. You don't see that in the fiction anymore!
