Soldier of Dorn
Across ninety-nine worlds I fought, And with every foe slain, I would breathe a Black Prayer: "May He Return." And on the hundredth victory, My prayer was granted. Good to have you back, Dan. Can't wait to see what else you've come up with. :D And across the Segmentum, there rose a great cry- “Ave Dominus Nox. And lo, a rider on a iron steed, In midnight clad, And his name was Dan, And Hell followed with him. Just read through this thread, and I have to say, it's amazing. Please give us more. malika666
I'm looking at some quiet, aloof, distant legions. One dark, one white. Two possible sides of a coin. This could always be misdirection brought to you by an old favorite of secrets and lies... YES YES YES YES YES!!!! Biohazard
Great to see you back buddy, even better with models of this calibre! Dan The Deamon
I needed some air superiority and I hate the helturkey model. The dark angels craft came in a boxed set i picked up for some other projects and was the perfect opportunity to get an attack craft in my list. \ I wanted to keep with the theme of a possessed space marine attack craft. I went for a bunch of extra sensor spines and lenses over the craft to make it look self aware and perceptive. I added some extra cabling and exhaust to try and make it look like something more than the engines were burning fuel and active on this thing. Finally I switched the Dark Angel wings for some leathery bat wings and added flamstorms for the baleflamer and a gatling cannon for the autocannon. This is where i've slowed down with this model. I have some patching and molding to do in places but not many more changes in mind. C&C is welcome. Brother Heinrich
Damn, the membranous wing sculpting is beautiful. You are seriously back with a vengeance dude. Rhetoricus
There is really nothing to criticize with that build matey, you've totally nailed it. Do your snagging and introduce it to a paintbrush, eagerly awaiting seeing this finished. Quixus
That is a perfect Chaos Talon. Will you run it as a hellturkey or as one of the FW CSM aircraft? Vel'Cona
That's pretty sweet! The wings and brasswork are awesome, and I think it's probably one of the more impressive Chaos conversions of a generally Imperial craft I've seen. Hyaenidae
Whu... Wow. I got nothing else. That aircraft is just sick. A little rest has had a wonderfully corrosive effect on your twisted imagination, brother. You do the VIII Legion proud. Soldier of Dorn
[drools] baghgfghhjkj... [/drools] That's it. I quit, as there's no way that I'll ever be able to model something as pretty as the Darkturkey. :P On a more serious note, I am going to replicate it to the best of my ability. We'll see. Hyaenidae
You should build two more of these and call them Iron Locust Flight. You'd win every game you ever played by default. And by default, I mean they're curled in the fetal position in the corner of the hobby shop, weeping in terror. Dan The Deamon
Apologies about my little absence after resurrecting this thread. I have been working on projects, but playing no games. I've been out of 40k for a little bit and some of my models are in the phase where i could swing them over to HH or keep them with the 18th. More on that later. Here is a troop transport for my militia/cultists depending on how I choose to use them. I've waited about 10 months for the backordered wheeled kit to show up from chapterhouse. I only regret now that i have to make another like this one, and it took me a few weeks... Oh, and thanks Darkven for hitting me with the wake up and post bat. Soldier of Dorn
And Dan makes his triumphant return! The transport looks really cool, though I confess Guard vehicles aren't exactly my area of expertise. What else do you have in store for us? Daniel I'd keep them & have a sort of before & after version of the 18th. Like Brother Heinrich done with his own Night Lords. This is something I'm planning as well as soon as MkIII armour release in plastic for the Horus Heresy. Also really looking forward to more update. The Guard tank look really cool. Any colour scheme in mind? Dan The Deamon
Thanks gang, i'll post the troopers soon. As for the color scheme I'm going to stick with urban camo for the vehicles regardless of the militia color scheme... Needed some anti-tank and had this unit sitting around collecting dust. It's also modular. An old Predator that's bothered me a bit. I added sloped armor to the hull... moving away from vehicles, which i have some fun building but not painting. I noticed some things to fix, gun barrels, basing, etc. I originally intended them to run with dual plasma-guns but added the meltaguns for flexibility. The Apothecary was intended to let me count them as slaanesh with feel no pain or nurgle T6. The lord/sgt has something of a axe/sword power weapon i guess i could run as a daemon weapon. I've barely played them in games so don't know how i would finish equipping them. until next time.
