Not an actual step-by-step tutorial but a written guide I wrote many, many moons ago as to how I painted this SoG:

You could also dash Khrangar a PM, he's done not just one SoG, but a whole army of them!

I am just curious if anyone has a good example of a tutorial for how to get the blue plasma glow effect from jump packs? I am not a terrible painter but have never tried this since i am not sure where to start. I am getting a but bored of black and silver on the vents!

I don't have a tutorial but its not that hard an effect. Paint it all blue. Then at the exhaust holes start by painting them a lighter blue, follow by a few more gradual tones of lighter blues, in the centre of the vent. Only leave a little of the darker colour showing at the edge. Build it up to white at the very centre. Around the edges of the vent paint a mid tone of blue. You can sort of feather it at the edges to blend into the basecoat. Blend the blue to white at the edges of the vent. It follows the same principle as the eye tutorial found here :

just change the colours and where you put the brightest points.

Race: Space Marines (Salamanders)

Details:

Does anyone have any convincing ways to paint the onyx skin and glowing red eyes of the Salamanders? All my efforts have been pretty poor so far.

I was wondering if painting the face grey and then washing it would work, or should I stick to the traditional method of painting black and then highlighting?

I really haven't a clue, can anyone suggest anything?

Race: Dark Angels

Description: A few years ago, I saw a tutorial on the GW site with instructions on how to build a ruined dark angels cathedral. The cathedral had a central dais with the dark angels chapter symbol (sword with wings for all you non-DA types) in the middle and was absolutely awesome. It had templates for the walls and everything. Of course now that they are selling lots of plastic building kits they have taken it down. Does anybody remember this? If so, do you have the templates or any ideas on how I should proceed in building something like this??

Using a combination of the fortress of redemption and the sanctum imperialus from the GW cities of death range would be your best bet. To save on costs you could order some of the parts from a bitz website. Fix the diorama to a large sheet of plasticard for a suitable base.

Race: Any Space Marine

Details: I recently bought a droppod for use with my World Eaters and I'd like to know how best to apply weathering that looks like it's burnt up as it's entered the atmosphere. The same effect is usually used on the barrels of Meltaguns. I've seen the guide to painting the droppod on Games Workshop's site and it's not quite what I'm after.

Thanks in advance.

Race: Marauder Space Marines

Details: I'm looking for a tutorial on how to paint the pale yellow scheme seen at the Games Workshop Space Marine Chapter Gallery (bottom left) and not the bold Imperial Fist yellow. I assume base with a tan, but I'm not sure of what to build up with from there.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Tutorial Request: flames

Type:painting

Race: Space Marine

Details: how can i paint flames on my models

Thank you :P

Painting flames on black marines is easy. Besides the link to the Legion of the Damned, you can easily do it following my Hakanor's Reavers tutorial.

http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...showarticle=224

Look how I did the legs or the badge or the sword. You can see better flames on an Ork from the AoBR painting contest here:

http://blog.muschamp.ca/2008/09/28/painting-update/

I also paint flames in non-traditional colors, particularly purple, which you can see all over the place including here:

I have an ongoing PC&A work in progress thread too:

Enough or too much?
