Thanks guys.

Squigsquasher, I like your thinking of the shoulder pads, for the helmet I've trimmed the lip off the bottom of it. I'm looking to get a hold of a some Talos faceplates to mess around with them. I think one of them could really work.

For the whip I have the axe from the Age of Sigmar Bloodsecrator I was planning to add to the whip. I don't really like the whip bits from the standard kit.

I do like the idea of the rhino style horns as well. I may explore that when I build my D Thirster in the future

Ah yes, the Talos facemasks. Beloved of Dark Eldar and Chaos converters everywhere. :laugh.: That should work pretty well, although I don't know how big the faceplate is in relation to the Bloodthirster head.

I should really buy a Talos kit, even if only for parts. Given some of the conversions I've seen of Talos bodies into Chaos Dreadnoughts I can't see anything going to waste. I sometimes feel the Dark Eldar plastics are GW's pre-emptive apology to Slaanesh converters for giving Khorne so much attention recently.

Thanks guys.

Squigsquasher, I'm hoping it'll be a decent fit.

Nemac Vredon, sockwithaticket. Cheers guys, I wanted it to look a little like the old mark gibbons painting of the Daemon.

It's one of my favourite pieces of art by one of my favourite GW artists. I will be adding a good few skulls to the base. :)

I'm still contemplating switching the weapon hands around and I want to keep the visor now as I do really like the creepy look it gives. I was a big fan of the Theron guard in Gears of War for the same reason.

Elduderino, nope no conversion just a straight build. I have a piece of sprue glued to the base which is currently running inside his hollow leg. I'll be green stuffing over the foot to disguise this when I'm finishing him.

The Hydra, thanks buddy. Glad you like them.

I've finally settled on a head for my Jugger Lord. I know it's been done to death around here but I really like the base bit I used from the chappy. I messed around today with an idea for the trophy racks on his back. Including a DA head as I used this guy in a game yesterday and he took out a Company Mastwr and his assault squad in combat. Felt right to have a trophy to mark the occasion. :) please bear in mind that this whole model is still in early WIP stages.

Been meaning to post in this topic for a while! All your recent stuff looks great. The Raptor Lord is fantastic, though I think the tabard may be the slightest bit too busy. You did an excellent job capturing the movement of the art in your Skarbrand conversion! Can't wait to see him painted up. Nice use of the Ivanus Enkomi head on the most recent guy, I love that helmet. I'm saving mine for a chaplain conversion for my Alpha Legion. I do think the trophy racks might be a little much, honestly. I'd maybe try shortening them a bit, or reducing the number of them on the wracks themselves.

Whoa, buddy, you're on a roll right now, aren't you?

The helmet on the Bloodthirster is an excellent idea, and I actually think you might be able to get away with that visor after all -- what about adding an armoured lower jaw (thing an Ork metal jaw, only slightly bigger) to the helmet, while leaving the daemon's actual lower jaw visible within it? That way, you'd be bulking out the entire construction and make the visor look less oversized. I am pretty sure a suitable bit can be found somewhere in the Ogre Kingdoms catalogue.

The new head on the jugger lord is just amazing -- better than all the previous versions by far!

Haha thanks a lot guys. I've put the Bloodthirster to one side just as I need to get on with painting for my Call of Chaos Vow. On that note I'm painting bases while my daughters blowing raspberries at a Miniwargaming Battle Report.

Not a massive update but hope to get on with painting the rest of the Bloodcrushers this evening. Or at least the Juggernauts.

Just waiting on the washes drying just now.

EDIT

Ok so I finished the bases, I used a lot more Blood for the blood God than usual but it just felt right :-)

I still have to add casualties to two of the bases ie Jugger Lord and Skarbrand. They'll be painted separately though.

Whew. Biohazard, you just don't stop delivering. Love all the forward momentum you captured on not-Khârn. The Juggerlord look great - I wouldn't get rid of the trophy racks, that helmet pushes him pretty far over the top as it is and you may as well go all the way with it. I actually think it makes him look really heavy while also adding a little extra forward movement. They're almost like wings, except spikier. I don't even know where to start on Skarbrand. The mask and the pose combined are just awesome.

That Raptor Lord, though. I think he's pretty close to the level of that one awesome thing we all one day dream of creating but never quite manage to achieve. I feel like it's so close to perfect I have to nitpick it - if it needs ONE THING, I think the raised knee could be cut off and rotated a few degrees to the left (his right). As it is, it doesn't quite look like his foot is resting naturally on the rock and it's mostly due to the leg pose being just slightly closer to jumping than standing. Still, that's one of the best Raptor Lords I've ever seen and there have been some damn good ones in the last few years what with the Night Lord craze.

And I think blood paints (Blood for the Blood God, Tamiya Clear Red, whatever you wind up using) is like dakka - doesn't matter how much you've used, it's still never enough. ;)

Thanks a lot guys,

RazXIII I've actually mounted the raptor on something else. Hopefully that takes care of the issue you mentioned. I'll get pics of it ASAP.

Nighthunters, join the dark side, we have flesh metal beasts with hooves and sharp teeth. :)

Nearing the end with these guys. The BloodLetters will be painted tomorrow time permitting. Then hope to start on the Chaos Marines on Sat.

The Bloodcrusher riders have been worked on but not finished yet. Will get back to them very soon. Really needed a break from painting red today though.

Took the chance to work on the dead terminator on Skarbrands base. I've thought of starting a Lamenters force for a while. I love the Blood Angels fluff but wasn't keen on another red army so these guys fit the bill perfectly. Only problem is the chapter badge. So used the dead guy as a test model. Had far too much fun painting him. :)

Thanks guys glad you like it. I spent way too much time painting what is effectively a base decoration but like I say had a lot of fun painting it.

Emperor is Scottish. I just primed those bases black, drybrush with eshin grey, drybrush with codex grey then add a wash of agrax or nuln oil or a mix of both I think I did on Skarbrands.

Finally got time to finish the Bloodcrushers, not my greatest work but happy with how they look as a unit.

That's another one of my vows ticked off. Really need to get on with the rest though.
