Imperial Fists *Archamus wip and Land Raider complete*

I made a naughty, selfish purchase for myself in the aftermath of Christmas. I decided I wanted a ride for Sigismund, to go along with my old Rogue Trader Land Raiders. I always seem to play wysiwyg, so I needed an assault vehicle for him to launch out of. It seemed the Spartan was the appropriate tank for this task.

Anyways, it got delivered yesterday, and in a span of an hour, it washed it up and dried it, and started to clean the kit. Being the responsible parent that I am, I chucked on a movie to distract my progeny, and got to cleaning. When I got back to the kit at night, after the boys went down, I started to paint up the interior. This is where I managed to get with the kit last night.

Hope you like!

I am well aware that the interior is hardly ever going to be seen, especially the ceiling, but since I have done it with all the other transports (Rhinos/Razorbacks), I had to do it with this.

My next step, is painting the side tracks before i glue it to the main hull. And doing the tracks were a real pain, though not as much as the Fellblade.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!

Cheers!

You know, I was never sure what that thing was till you mentioned it. I always gave my Land Raiders a name, so I definitely will with this. Usually I do it on the outer hull though if I am keen I can do it there. Thanks for the idea!

Just a quick update in the Spartan, which will be Sigismund's transport (hopefully) in future games. I tried to put more Black Templar iconography on it to symbolize who's personal tank it is.

I also added the Forge World Land Raider doors as well, to keep it in alignment with the Legion. I still have to do the sponsons, which I am planning to make and prime black, as I think that would save time.

Just have the other side and the tracks. Made a big mistake with the tracks though, wish I kept them off and primed/painted them and then stuck them on. As is they are a real pain. But these are the things you learn.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!

Finally put the finishing touches to the Spartan. It's a monster of a tank to paint, though it was good fun and I also managed to get it all done before the game. You can see how well it did by looking here at the battle report.

I kept lots of Templar motifs as that is Sigismund's personal badge and also put some spot colours of white on the tank to denote its attachment to Sigismund's Company. As with all my main fighting tanks, I named it after the famous ship of the line, HMS Victory. Anyways, here it is.

Very pleased with how it turned out. I'm now in the process of painting up my next lot of 500pts for the mini-heresy campaign, and will hopefully have a Primaris Medicae in Terminator armour to show you soon.

Thanks for looking.

Looking great my brother

Thanks! Its a welcome addition to my Land Raiders!

Whenever I see such well painted interriors I always suffer waves of regret that I did not take more time with my own. The time was definately not wasted, looks great.

She's a beauty, brother. Also appreciate all the proto-templar livery she is adorned with.

Cheers! I must say the interiors do take more time to do, but at least it is nice to have them done for the 30seconds a game when some thing disembarks from them. I really need to take more battle report shots with the doors open to show case them more.

With the Templar livery, it was just natural, as Sigismund will be the main marine this thing carts around. Thanks for the kind words!

Finished off another model for my incoming Heresy era game. Decided to finally paint up another character in the form of a Primaris Medicae. I originally made this model ages ago along with a bunch of other terminator command models simply so I could attempt a Deathwing Imperial Fists army. I changed the gear he originally had to now having a Storm Shield and a Solarite Power Glove or Power Fist. Still, hopefully he should survive a few hits enough to get Sigismund to wherever he needs to be.

Primaris Medicae Omni ready to serve. I do rather like his pose, very nasty.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers deathspectersgt7!

I have a small update here. Finished just a lone Assault terminator with a Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield. I painted him up in case I wanted to increase one of my Terminator squads. I also tried to replicate the OSL I did on the others I completed 2 or 4 years ago. Hopefully its not too bad.

Let me know what you think.

I have a few other models in the pipeline for the Fists, namely my Devastator squad, as well as another Rogue Trader Land Raider to do up. I also have a potential challenge to do where I need to paint up a leader, so was leaning towards making Captain Camba Diaz to go along with Sigismund. We shall see.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers!

Been a little while, but I have a wip model. The Imperial Fists sub-forum is having a little single model painting thing on in the lead-up to the ETL, so I thought I would finally try and tackle this model. I got it straight away when it was available, as its such a great sculpt. I didn't really alter anything, other than give him an Imperial Fists shoulder pad and put my usual heraldry shield on him. I'll probably use him as Camba Diaz in 30k, and has a support captain in 40k if need be.

Looking forward to having a bit of fun with this!

I do have some more things in the pipe line for my Fists, as the mini campaign I am in is upping the ante. Though I am still working out what to take in the next game. Will post something when I have put more thought to it.

Thanks for looking!

Just read through the entire thread, have to say the progress you've made is great, your painting level has increased a lot since the very beginning.
I do have to ask though, what happened to the bastion that you were constructing?

Keep up the great work!

Cheers! Thanks very much! The bastion is still currently wip. I've done the walls, and the basic structure is all there, I just need to fill a few gaps and add details. Then paint it obviously. I will get to it....one day ;)

I've decided to try and make some more progress on the Sternguard squad I started ages ago. I feel the need to get them up to scratch as they are a great unit in 40k, and I can certainly see the potential in 30k (sniper veterans are crazy good).

So I have made some progress on these. They are close to being finished, with just details, weathering and bases to do. Once they are done, I actually will have 5 finished, which will be nice.

Here they are.

I do like that pose with the knife. I think its from the Chaos Marines set. From an unknown edition.

I am a fan of this pose. This is an old re-purposed Blood Angel from my old army. I just had to add that cool sheathed blade. He looks like he knows how to use it.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3154_zpsye51rfd3.jpg

Since this model is one of the old old metal ones, I couldn't put my usual Imperial Fist shoulder pads on him, so I instead fell back on some shaky and dodgy freehand.

Getting close with these guys.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers!

Some very shiny stuff you have going on here.

I like it! biggrin.png

Thanks very much! It's good to give these guys an update.

Always happy to see an update on these bad boys. That apothecary looks ace, by the way!

Cheers! That apothecary did turn out rather well. Very pleased with it and its performance last game. Thanks again!

Finished up the last 2 veterans/sternguard. I decided to give them some OSL from the eye lenses as I do like that look. I can now field a small unit of them, so I have included the others as well for a family photo. Let me know what you think.

And a team photo as well.

I have another veteran with a Heavy Bolter ready to go, though I need to make the other 4 remaining Veterans/Sternguard. Thinking at this stage, I'm going to try and make them all MKVI armour (as its one of my favourites).

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!
