Imperial Fists *Archamus wip and Land Raider complete*

Finished off some Templar Brethren last night. I wanted to give them all a feeling of momentum, as in running towards the enemy, ready for the attack. I did however run out of bits towards the end, so had to make do. Still, I think they look interesting enough. I do have another set of 5 to make up at some stage, though I will hold off on making them for the time being.

Anyways, here they are.

The champion with a solarite power guantlet.

I used a lot of Blood Angel bits, as a had a few of their running legs. Still, I like the extra gubbins on them.

Thinking next I will start assembling my last Imperial Knight. Haven't posted any pics here of my Knights, as I thought it wouldn't be appropriate. Despite that, I will probably start chipping away at the Huscarls, as I am keen for a full unit of 10 Terminators.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!

Thoroughly impressed with these. Some very nice posing going on there.

And i must agree with Ciler, that last one really does capture the feel of a charge hitting home. Can just picture a soon-to-be-skewered opponent in front of him, stumbling backwards having taken a shield to the face.

I like it! :D

So I just discovered this thread.... My only thought is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I thought Bladewolfs thread bad enough but now I've gotta another amazing Imperial fist thread! Oh my. I feel like you imperial fists players are out to get me onto the Fistslaugh.png . I'm now even deeper into legion limbo because of this. I love the poses on those templars btw.

Awsome work, I'm angry at myslef for not finding this thread earlier! Followed!

Also I think you got me to like the Sigismund model.

Thanks very much guys! Enthusiasm and kind words always help fuel the hobby fire.

It has been a while since I have updated this thread. I have actually been quite productive, though just very lax in posting it here, so I am hoping to address that now.

Here is what I have completed for my Fists this year so far. Sorry for the long hiatus.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3624_zps84vuetcb.jpg

Doesn't need any introduction. Gave him a spare Templar Brethren helm, as I like that look much better than the bare head.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3625_zpsfsw9hpi2.jpg

Polux. The OSL is a little heavy, but i'm not going to fix that. Too many other things to do.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3630_zps7tmi9yzi.jpg

Huscarls. Painted these two up with the chainfists, as I needed them for a game against Knights.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3629_zpsfgxwfmzd.jpg

Another Tactical squad, all in MKVI armour.

Those have been my efforts thus far. I am actually in the process now of redoing my old breacher squad (armed with close combat weapons), to be legal (giving them guns and what not).

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!

Cheers! Thanks. Sigismund, for me at least, is a must have fro that helm. Not a real fan of that head at all. Probably because that head needs long flowing locks.

And I love MKVI, best armour type. Glad I finally have a whole squad of them.

Another update here. Updated my Breachers so they are no legal in 30k. I wanted the option to run he gauntlet of Stone RoW, so needed them for the compulsory troop.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3634_zpsuueeh6hz.jpg

I also added a white strip to the sgt to denote veterancy. Glad the poses don't look too awkward, considering they were holding chainswords before.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3633_zpseguifzpr.jpg

I wanted to have a heat effect on the guns, so I used a blue and sepia wash in rings to get it. Looks okay, though might need to be a little darker.

Least now I have another troop choice, whereas before I couldn't really use them at all, which was annoying.

Next up I am working on the Templar Brethren I posted up before. Hoping to get the bulk of them done this week.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!

Welcome back Lachdannan .

Every time you post up your latest work one word goes through my head .

Fantastic .

Sigismund , Polux , the Huscarles , the repurposed breacher squad - all of it just fantastic .

Looking forward to your Templars .

( By the way - can I send you my minis to paint ?? my painting skills are less than fantastic biggrin.png )

Thanks very much John! High praise indeed.

And as much as I enjoy painting, I enjoy finishing as well, and would hate to take that away from you and your exploits, so will have to decline the offer to paint you models (though nice try ;) )

Just have a wip shot to share. Made a start on the Templar brethren. Kinda decided early on I didn't like the Forge World scheme, so I changed it to what I liked. Was tempted to make them all black, but thought that really wouldn't make sense, as Sigismund only did that during the Siege of Terra, plus they are a unit that guards the Temple of oaths on the Phalanx, so figured they would still wear the Legion's primary colour.

Let me know what you think.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3636_zpsyaonfi8o.jpg

I also converted up another Primaris medicae. This time in artificer armour, though still with a Solarite Power Glove.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3638_zpsa0oewc5z.jpg

Should be a nice break from yellow.

I am also thinking of starting another Heresy force, this time on the Traitor side, though I might wait a bit before I post anything.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!

Had a productive evening, and finished off the Templar Brethren. Hope you like.

Next I am working to finish off the Primaris Medicae I showed before.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!

Finished my Primaris Medicae in artificer armour. It's been a long time since I had an opportunity to get my 'blood' out, so it was so much fun applying it to this model.

I plan on running him with a solarite power guantlet, just for some additional AP pain.

Let me know what you think.

I don't really have anything else on the painting table, so not sure what to do next. :/

Anyways, thanks for looking

Cheers!

  • 2 months later...

Big update to this thread, apologies for the lateness. Due to the ETL, I have finished a few items, and assembled some more models for my Heresy era Fists.

First up is my Typhon.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3705_zpsu7wyyqev.jpg

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3707_zpsotmeekbg.jpg

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3706_zpsntsqmxzp.jpg

I freely admit to being a little over large areas of yellow, hence the amount of black that breaks the model up. Despite that I am happy with how it turned out. I used the FW doors as well, as I have had them sitting idle for a long time.

Next up is my Templar Brethren. I vowed to 5 more Templar's, putting my total up to 10. And yes I do have a group shot with Sigismund for you to look at as well.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3720_zpsv1da8p9d.jpg

And group shot...

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3718_zpscufdjc1p.jpg

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3719_zpsu8yhn2vv.jpg

Like I mentioned earlier, I do prefer to the yellow scheme to the Templar's as they are Imperial Fists after all, and were in fact established by Dorn. Sigismund himself (and Dorn for that matter), didn't wear black until the siege or later. Still, just my preference.

I also have been assembling a few models from my last vestiges of my bits box. After reading some tactica, I thought I'd try out some Outriders. Here is the result.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3713_zpseevmsrqm.jpg

Admittedly, I am not looking to painting them. Still a cheap unit to build, and it meant I could use those old assault marine metal pads I have had for years and years. I also got to use those metal chainsword's I removed from my Breachers, and used my ancient 2nd Edition power axes that have been in my bits box for 20+ years. I feel the bikers fit with my mechanised feel.

I also got round to making my Leviathan.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3721_zpstxayqkin.jpg

The rocky outcrop on the base is from the 25th anniversary model, glad I kept it, as it came in handy. Can't wait to get this painted up and used, especially in Zone Mortalis.

Lastly I have this.

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/DSCF3651_zpsxrdsqpiw.jpg

Just cos.

That just leaves 10 Phalanx Warders to assemble when they arrive, and that for the time being is all my Imperial Fists. An exciting time!

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!
