Quick update on the "cockpit". Its done, for the moment. I'll be adding some transparent sections (think old musty glass or amber)and framing, but at this point I'll have to paint what is done first. The wing mounts and engines are next.  I still have to figure out where the flight stand is going in. :)

That is a really gross bug, congratulations.

The greenstuff work is excellent, you've captured the diseased flesh feel really well. I'm not sure i could ever quite work up the nerves of steel needed to dismember a mini that size and greenstuff it back together like that...

Thanks for all the great comments, gang.  The wife has christened the Spider-drake , Charlotte.  I will call her Ms. Charlotte... because she breathes fire or caustic acid or something so nasty I really don't want to think about it and can tear apart a battle tank.  I've been working on how she and the flight stand will get along. It involves a good deal of greenstuff, layering of sculpture (over some of the stuff I've already sculpted- dadgummit!), superglue and prayer. Possibly some blood sacrifice, but I don't like to think about that part. the Old Gods ask a heavy price for even the slightest thing these day. Inflation sucks.  But, I'm working on a series of pictures that will show progression. These will probably be up Sunday night (EST)- so keep an eye out.  In the meantime, I got my grubby mitts on the new Marine codex. In the process, the cat and I rummaged through the hobby room and did inventory on exacty what I have on hand in terms of marines and marine parts. In the process I came along quite a few projects in various states. One of which was this guy and some of his friends, who will be Khorny meatshields...er,uh.. I mean glorious cult militia for the Blood God.  He was the most complete, so he'll be the paint test dummy. :)

Playing on the Khorne Dog theme, the grand plan is to have a Khorne force with Deamons, that are heavy on the flesh hounds. Speaking of flesh hounds, never been a huge fan of the models and I was planning on converting warhounds, but have you seen these...

Holy crabcakes! Those are cooooooooool looking. Also makes me wonder if they might be big enough for mounts for traitor rough riders...hmmmm.  Anyways, More to come on Ms. Charlotte around Sunday. I might even start on her wings, depending on how distracted I get by the loyalist marines.

very nice, where did that great helmet for the meatshield come from?

The heads come from MaxMini.  http://maxmini.eu/conversion-bits/head-swaps/gladiator%20-helmets-bits I had oringinally hoped to somhow work them onto marines, but it just didn't look/feel right. BUT.. they work great for cultists who think that dieing gloriously for Chaos is a great way to spend the afternoon.

This is what a nurgle army should look like.

Fantastic stuff!

Thank you, sir!  Coming from someone who does work of your caliber, that means a LOT. Not to mention someone who likes to poke a bit of fun at the hobby like I do...... and a follower of DOOooom!:furious:

I'm layering new belly sculpting around where the flight stand will join Ms. Charlotte. Here is the first gruesome layer....

Also did an inventory on the infantry element of The Templars of doom and realized I could really use more Heavy weapons, two more guys to make a Havoc squad. So I rednekked a couple heavy bolters into these swell autocannons.....

A quick shot of the sculpting progress on Ms. Charlotte's belly. Those pesky loyalists have been distracting me, but I'm chipping away - slow, but sure. I'm starting to think she'll be 1/3 green stuff when she's done.

Here's what can happen in three days with some green stuff and a creepy spider-like thingy :blink.: .....

It just keeps getting wierder and wierder..... I really have to do the wings if I can manage to stop being distracted by those pesky loyalist marines.

This thing is making my skin crawl, and not in a good way.  Which means what you're doing meets Grandfather Nurgle's approval, boss....going with fly wings, or something else?

Big mechanical fly wings... which I have to make yet, but I've been concentrating on the sculpting.

Because, I am ABSOLUTELY INCAPABLE of working on one project at a time.... I dusted off this young lady and made her all pretty for the next time we get to game.

And the finished bit, all glossy, wet and gooey....

How would you like THAT staring at you from across the gaming table?:blink.:  And yes, I will turn her to keep eye contact as much as possible with who ever I play...even after he kills her. :cool.:

Cheers Ya'll!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Wow.  Just....wow.

I think you're gonna get your sportsmanship scores lowered if you go to tournaments for deeply disturbing psychological warfare against your opponents. :D

That is vile, nasty, and stomach-churning.  I love it.  Coming to your plog is one of the highlights of B&C for me, boss.
