POWDERED EGGS!!! Its tough enough selling your soul to Nurgle but having to eat powdered eggs just adds insult to putrefied injury.

She is a real beauty mate. Its been so good watching her take shape over the last year. Seeing her finally finished makes me feel strangely satisfied with my life.

Looking forward to seeing what madness you unleash upon our ever suffering eyes next :smile.:

PS: Please ignore Forte's post at the bottom of the last page, I wouldn't bother clicking on the link. Haven't you got a Raptors project that you were wanting to get back to for a few months :whistling:

I do have to figure out what I'm going to add to my Raptors force. I have a bunch of unbuilt marines, I was toying with making a second marine army... but I may just get squirrelly and add them all to my Raptors army.  Right now I'm trying to get enough of my Chaos/IG..er, uhm AM force painted to be a playable fully painted army. That and I like doing all the gross, freaky conversions. :)

I should have more hobby time over the next few months, so hopefully it won't take for-freekin'-ever to get the next big critter or project done like it did with Blinky.  Oh...wait, I still have to finish Charlotte.:whistling:

"Not-so-Smilin' Bob", who used to be "Smilin' Bob" before being repeatedly violated by Tyranid monsterous creatures, is my stalk tank/defiler. He's been around a long time. An old conversion, who has had a couple upgrades. Now its time for 'Bob Mk III'.  to bring him more in line with the look of my army and to finally get him painted.  He's been the victim of a couple experimental texturing methods and of poor judgement (i.e. "I'll just slap some paint on him for the league at the LGS", since it was a 'no unpainted models' league)  ...here's what I started with....  http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Fw1IP89PgKI/U3WsSTBdm8I/AAAAAAAABqI/0FJ27G8rRgk/s1600/SmilBobmk2.jpg

After scraping some missed seem lines and a few other nasty little things I couldn't believe slipped by, it was time to add some sculpting detail. First to the turret....

The main body is a bit more complicated, but here's the first night's work. The little bits around the tentacles and such are pretty much done, but the face and front area are still underway.  Many of the deamon-machines in my army have a single eye (some of which are spotlights) ...so Bob will be getting a new face as well. But I'll be working that out in the sketchbook a bit first before I go much farther. Here's what I have so far....

Cheers, ya'll!

Nurgle is good for you, Greyall...once you get over the initial round of diseases and dieing and such. Then there's no pain at all. :)

My wife, of all people, suggested a lamprey like mouth with multiple layers of teeth, built up around Bob's existing mouth. What say the brethren?

After a few frustrating attempts at the leech mouth, which just didn't look quite right, I went with something similar but with row after row of teeth on the inside. Here's the inside of the mouth as it stands- still needs some fine tuning with the exacto knife before I do the outer lips. The picture doesn't quite catch the fine texture I got wit a roughed up tooth pick that U used to 'pull' the teeth out of the coil with. But  basically.....what you are seeing will be inside the gullet.

Brother, it has been too long.

As per usual your work is breathtaking, and  has left me lusting for more......er......nurgle?

That seems wrong.

But true!

Onwards my diseased friend!

Wear protection and make sure you are caught up on your tetinis and have plenty of penecilin on hand, my friend. :)

The sculpting rehab work on the old stalk tank/defiler Not-So-Smilin Bob is DONE! I'm not sure how much he'll be smiling with his new mouth but I'm hoping he can discourage at least some of foul treatment he was handed in the past. Ya know... so he can move on...run, play and dance in the fields again. That kind of thing.   Here's the last bits on the hull....

And a bit more work on the turret to even all the gribbly parts out....

Tomorrow, weather permitting, he'll get a rust brown primer over the green stuff areas and painting will begin. Hopefully I won't get too distracted by the new Ork release in the coming weeks. I keep telling myself I want to finish this army, before I move on to finish the next. Of course GW had to go mess that up and wake up the grumpy old Mekboy in me with a new codex.  I got a HUGE box of free chaos minis (mostly  in bad shape.. the case had cat pee in it.... yeah, cat pee) but I've got some old metal deamons and many other things I'll be salvaging into the army. Looks like the Khorne contingent (the Khorne Dogs) will be large enough to be their own army.  And I'm also going to have to do a "loyal" chaos marine force, to battle brother with my nurgle Astra Millitarimperial Guard force  *giggle*...Hmmmmmm Chaos "Grey Knights" anyone?    Here's my plaguebearer champ. Some of the old metal sculpts are just so wonderful.

Buddy, we are looking at full Hazmet suit, hepa filters the works!

Not so smiling is loooking great, but that plague bearer is truly fantastic!

The poison dripping off the blade, unbelievably vivid, such a nice contrast to the subdued ( tho excellently painted) rest of him!

carry on oh leprous one!

More work on the plaguebearers.. the guy on the right is done, to his left is before a final wash.   If anyone is interested in the whole process I did a step-by-step http://rednekkzmekshop.blogspot.com/2014/06/a-lil-rednekk-step-by-step-plaguebearers.html

Now, on to my unit of plastic Plaguebearers. I REALLY like this kit. Lots of fun and options for simple conversions. With a little sculpting here and there , you can really get a lot of variation out of it. I know I'll be getting more. Initially, I was just going to have a few deamons for allies, but I may just make a playable army..eventually.   With the new unit, I primed them with GW Bleached Bone spray. Then a wash of Army Painter Quickshade: Strong tone. Once that was dry I hit them with good ol' GW Althonian Camoshade. (Steps 1-3... right to left)

That's the base color. Next, will be skin tones and detailing.
