These look pretty awesome sauce, especially the 'sibblings'. Great work on the icon painting and general wear and tear (not nothing too overdone). These things look like real, solid tanks rather than models :P.

@ Isiah: thanks - this is turning into my "standard weathering look" now. I like the less is more effect :P

@ furioso-prime: When I look at some of my first paintjobs I see how much I have come along in a couple of years - keep going, try different techniques, never give in - never surrender and you will improve. There are people on this forum that put me (and the GW professionals) to shame.

 

What mural is going on the third one? Your first two look complete.

 

That is a very good question Stobz - I think that the wingtips will just about get onto the 3rd dozer blade but only by 1 to 2cm this will leave most of the blade empty.

 

First thoughts where for some text or an Angel but I am not sure my freehand will manage an angel yet :(

So, I was thinking, since it will be a trio, maybe a plaque or mural depicting the warzones they have deployed too(Altid 156, Piscina IV, Vraks, Black Crusade XIII, Faze V,Persembe II to name a few)

Those are beautiful vehicles, and the Vindicators in particular are superb. You've reminded me of a 3x Vindicator list I was toying with a while ago.

 

One question though. Why does the Devastator Squad's Rhino have Tactical Squad markings?

Well obviously the machine spirit failed in their own so they had to 'borrow' one ;).

When you say 'angel' I'm assuming you mean the hooded we angels we love to adorn our vehicles with, so that's not an option. You could always try a variation of the winged sword ornaments you have included on the doors of your other tanks already, and center it in the shield of the third vindicator.

The Rhino has now been rebadged as Heavy 9 instead of Tactical 9 and while waiting for the start of Octobers vow I have just been cleaning up my painting corner in expectation of the next (and last) Line Breaker Vindicator.

 

The Techmarine crewman for the 2nd Vindi is now done.

 

I will upload photos Friday as usual.

 

Also I will be sitting down and making an effort this weekend to upload the magnetisation tutorial here

 

@Shadow Guard - Can I upload the start pictures for the last Vindicator tomorrow as the next chance I will get will be the 5th Oct? :P

Vindi 3 - Yesssss!!!! Look fwd for that - the expectations are high given the two previous ones! ;)

 

So seeing closer the grip of the bolt pistol the Techmarine must have the "Nerves of Steel" special rule! :)

Like the text idea. Maybe something simple, like the last part of my sig?

Or you can use the FW transfers. The one that says : THE FIRST LEGION THE HONOURED THE SONS OF THE LION. But you need to be good with transfers otherwise it'll show and will detract from the overall effect - keep in mind it'll be a focal point - no?

 

Regarding the DA figure, if you opt for that, I agree you need to change the scythe to a sword - too many Death Guard conotations...

Been busy the last couple of days - sufficient to say that the Siege Shield on the last Vindi is now done ( I could not wait ;) ).

 

There is also a suitable text on this Shield and my first attempt at a mural.

 

I will give you a clue to the text: the names of the three vindicators are Duty, Purity and Zeal.
