My brain is bubbling with things to do with the left over bits of the Vindicator I have from the Ares project.

I don't have my codex with me at the moment so can someone give me a quick answer on this:

Can the DA have an up armoured Rhino?

Planning on making a Damocles command rhino are we?

I was just planning to build an up-armoured command rhino/razorback for the 4th company using the left over bits but I could also look at sticking a big radar dish on the roof too.

I have gone for it - finally found a dish which may be suitable so I went ahead and ordered one

Radar Station

More stuff for the painting queue :(

Throne of the Emperor, what have I gotten myself into?  Here I picked up Dark Angels as my secondary army saying "30 models won't take long to assemble and paint, and I'll have a complete force from the two box sets".

Then I saw your post about magnetizing the Nephilim.  I'd wondered if it was possible, since I sure as Sith ain't going to buy a second one.  Looks like quite the undertaking, but it seems like it will be worth it in the end. When I get my expansion box next week I will have to look into doing that.  Thanks for the pictorial showing what needs magnetized and where it all goes. It may take me a while to finish, but the weather's not good enough for spray painting anyways and I'm not planning on brush painting the whole thing.

I'd give you a like for the Nephilim/Dark Talon magnetisation job but these days I expect 360 degree animated gifs from you. You put more work into your Baneblade...

:p

Cause it had far more bits to magnetise ;)

Maybe on the next one...

Just read through your thread again...Man you do some really nice work... And regular too (Unlike certain others :P)

We all know who you mean....

It is just a shame most of my time is spent on the IG at the moment but as you can see from the earlier list, the is still a fair amount of DA to do.

The main backing paper is a large sheet of white paper (mine was from staples) and the smaller (A3) was printed from a file found on the internet (I got the link from Capt. Semper but seem to have lost it now).

Was this the one?

My light box is on the way so I wanted to find good backdrops.  I hope I am not out of place in offering the link and maybe it will help others too.

The only things that really need magnetising are the weapons to switch between the Neph/Talon so the wing missile/Hurricane bolters, the Heavy bolter/lenses at the engine roots and the chin weapons and the bomb of course.

The rest of it is just bling ;)

Magnetizing the wings is not '"just bling". I've actually sold my first magnetized Nephilim/DT because I was tired to find a place for 2 in a box... And I planned to have 3!

So I've sold it and I've re -magnetized a new one... The wings need a bit of work and precision because they are thin but man, when you see you can put 3 DT in a standard GW case, it is worth the effort!

50K????

:wacko.::eek::thumbsup::cry:

Brother Bobz is near 85k though...

Also just noticed I have recently crossed the 3K posts

I need to do some DA to celebrate...

I have been overcome by temptation....

Just about to buy the Betrayal at Calth set to paint up as HH DA and I remember reading that some of the pauldrons where painted green to show that the warrior was from Caliban. Which pauldron... left or right?

Edited by elmo

I think it was the one with the squad markings as the chapter symbol normally remains over a black or white background depending on preference.

[Edit] also if I remember right I saw a force someone did and he put iron halos on the shoulders of veterans from Terra.

I have picked them up now and they look like a good quality set.

The decision has been made:

Chaos Black highlighted in Shadow grey (see my Ravenwing)

Right hand pauldron DA green

Left hand pauldron white (see my previous HH DA)

Left hand knee pad DA green with heraldry

I like a subdued scheme ;)

I plan to use them mainly as 40K DA but would like to keep the options open for HH hence going for black armour.

To explain the black armour for 40K they will become "The Angels of Shadows" successor chapter who exclusively use ancient tech.

Hopefully I should have some tester models done in a week or so.

It's nice to be back on The Rock :)
