I can see all the other pics on the previous page except the most recent ones, did you do anything different in the way you linked them?

With regard to your sig link; I unfortunately cannot open that at work.

I'll have a look again later; you know how computers are :P

s

Take your time - its a shame work always gets in the way of our hobby :wink.:

No differences to the way I link them - no idea whats happened....

Any better???

Edited by Elmo9141

Very nice; loving the freehand and the mixture of different mks etc. hell I'm even starting to love that crazyhorse rocket launcher ;)

I am thinking that if you are putting a little weathering/battle damage on the white pauldrons you should maybe add a little to the rest of the mini, maybe a similar light drybrush in 'chainmail' or similar on the black and a little 'devlan' on the robes.

Still cool either way but I like to see you working at painting instead of supporting your family :P

Still can't see the pics in the previous pages post, no wukenfurries.

CrazyStobz

You are right about the weathering on the armour - I may try a little boltgun with a stipple brush on the edges and I was going to add a bit of mud at the base of the robes but forgot - doh!

Back to my painting corner :whistling:

Seriously - can anyone else not see the photos on post #198 or is it just CrazyStobz??

To try to get Crazystobz to be able to see some of the photos I have taken some more and uploaded them using photbucket this time. Hopefully it works better....

Squad Iahmel are veteran members of the 4th Company during the phase of Imperial history which was to become known as the Horus Heresy.

Due to supplies being limited many members of the squad wore various marks of armour and carried a selection of different weapon types but could be relied upon to be deadly to their enemies no matter what.

As veterans they can be seen wearing simple white robes with minimal awards or trophies - the recognition of their fellow Battle Brothers is reward enough.

Brother Sgt Iahmel is a veteran of many wars and skirmishes.

He proudly leads from the front with the cry of "For the Lion" and his sword, Wrath of Caliban, spreading fear into his enemies.

Brother Perdiccas is Sgt Iahmel's friend and strong right hand,
always ready to step in to combat with chainsword singing and boltgun blazing.

Brother Turmiel is the squads tacturn flamer bearer though none can
doubt his artistry when fire is needed to cleanse enemy positions.

Brother Corat is the most effective missile launcher operator in 4th Company.
His ability to hit targets at ranges where others would fail gains his squad special honour amongst it's peers.

Brother Abigor is a typical Dark Angel, slow to anger but quick to strike.

He has had many honours over his long life but prefers to meditate alone.

Brother Vicconius lost his right arm in a fight against an Orc warboss.

Sufficed to say the orc lost it's head in return.

and in rememberence of the brothers he lost, he still wears the same MKIII helmet from that battle.

Brother Salilus  is a long standing member of Squad Iahmel.

Stern but approachable, his council is much sought after by junior members of the 4th Company.

I like 'em, Elmo, very nice! Cool write ups for each squad member and I still like the color combo. They do look simple and understated, I like the single line on the robe edge. I feel like they should have the 4th company cheques on their shoulder pad in the same method you used for the previous HH stuff. It also appears that the white almost intrudes up the edges of some of the raised details, so maybe a wash or something to blend the raised details and white into each other? That said, I really like how you have incorporated the little DA bits and while I will agree that the battle damage on the white begs for some company, you did a great job on it. Very cool (and inspiring) idea to use the RW sergeant body that way (I happen to be working on that very piece right now, but mine looks like he's just going on the bike). Very cool, sir, very cool. What's going to be up next?

Thanks Bryan :biggrin.:

I think I will invest another couple of nights on these to tidy them up and do a bit more weathering.

The rh shoulderpads are bare as I have yet to decide what to go for in the way of markings but I think that just putting the 4th checkers on there for now will be ok. I noticed the overspill on the white too after looking at the closeups :censored: .

Next DA project will be either the Nephilim, some more RW or the LR Ares - I will see which one calls to me the loudest.

DA Posts will be a bit slower now as my Tau order should be incoming very soon and I will be switching from one to the other - just can't resist my Xenos.

Completely understand. I have those Chaos Marines from DV that need some paint, my Tyranids haven't see a brush in years, and I have been tossing Tau paint schemes around in my head since they came out. Also, it's possible I'm going to want to have some Eldar as well soon. LOL, nah, I don't have a plasticrack problem...

May be a change of plan on what will be next.....

Just bought 19 unpainted and partially assembled RW bikers from the RW box set at a silly price.

Add these to the 8 DV bikers and 8 old SM bikers and 2 ABs and the RW HQ box which are in my painting queue and what I already have and Sammi's boys will be massive.

Should be getting them next week :whistling:

The first part of getting better is admitting you have a problem - Now who's got a plastic crack habit??

Edited by elmo

Hi, I'm DW70 and I'm a plastic-crack-ic.

Hmm...

Unassembled:

- 1 Land Raider (probably have it for about 12 years now)

- 1 Predator

- Forgeworld dreadnought

- Forgeworld apothecaries (too cool to resist)

- give or take 30 Marines + some Forgeworld ones

- give or take 20 Terminators (+DV)

- around 30 old metal Terminators I took apart and stripped for a new project around a year ago - I assembled 1 squad and primed them

- I think around 6 bikers (+DV)

- maybe a Land speeder in there somewhere

- a finecast Techmarine + servitor box, fortunately no holes in it for me but I'll have to do some bending to get it ready.. (first finecast purchase)

not to mention parts of characters and other bits I have lieing around that could probably be used assemble another squad or so. Amongst the bits plenty of choices to build any squad I want.

Assembled / partially painted / unpainted:

- Predator

- Razorback

- Forgeworld Dreadnought (next project in my thread)

- 5 metal terminators

- I estimate around 10 maybe 15 marines, some bolters, some heavy weapons, 1 or 2 sergeants.

- I'm sure I can find some other stuff aswell not to mention some of my old stuff looks 'unpainted' next to my current skilllevel. I've never sold a thing, did lose some oldies though :sad.: Really wish I had my old 2nd edition blob marine to compare with now.

This is just my Marines, I have barely bought anything new in the last 5 years. Still have some very old Eldar models basecoated, the Chaos section of the DV set and the High Elf section of the Island of Blood box. Will have to resist the new High Elf armybook + new models coming out next month ...

Hi, I'm DW70 and I'm a plastic-crack-ic.

Hi DW70 - welcome to the club :whistling:

I'm not even going to attempt to list the stuff I have sat in a cupboard gathering dust.....

Some of it has been there 10 years!

Sold on the anvil parts thanks to the close ups :biggrin.:

Your welcome :wink.:

Loving the kitbashed DV sergeant! :tu:

Very much looking forward to seeing your new Tau as well....I must admit that visiting Salute on Saturday has almost made me go out and buy a load of the Fireforge Teutonic Knights boxes and start a Bretonnian army.........I know, square basing and all that!!!! :geek:

I don't want everyone to know that I have them..... I might get booted off The Rock or taken to Cell 42!

I don't know what you are talking about :whistling:

But thanks.
