I've got three Night Lords upgrade kits, a Dreadclaw, and a Contemptors coming in the mail for my NL warband, so I'll definitely be checking in here for inspiration :) For now I've got to figure out how to strip paint off if this Sicaran <_<

Cool! Which rapier did you get from FW to represent the Hades Autocannons? Or did you order from Subtle Discord?

@Kaldoth: Thanks a ton man! That's a really solid collection you have going! I always like mixing in the legion specific bits with regular ones to kind of dilute them down because I think they can look a little too busy or over the top if they have too much legion specific stuff. 
@Augustus: As much as I love SD's stuff, I went for the laser destroyers and also ordered some legion autocannons to replace the laser barrels. I figured that would look nice and autocannon rapier-y!

Hey guys! Updates sure are slow huh? Better change that!

Managed to finish up both of the Rapier artillery Centurions:

I was initially concerned with how the headpieces would look on Night Lords but I have to admit I am really pleased with how they turned out. Now work on the actual artillery pieces can begin! I have 2 legion autocannon sets that I am gonna butcher to turn my lascannon rapiers into hades ones. Plenty of converting to come!

@Knight of the Raven: I just updated it (just for you)  Thanks man! It actually wasn't hard to remove the crest, but the helmet it was attached to got a bit nicked up by the knife, which, frankly, I don't mind considering B@C gives you such a plethora of Mk IV helmets and there is nothing spectacularly unique about the centurion ones other than the crests themselves. The crest surface that would get glued to the top of the replacement helmet is a bit small and fiddly so I would recommend pinning it if you go that route.

 

I plan on the getting the rapiers all scrubbed and primed soon so more to come! Thanks for looking!

Hey ya'll! Managed to start getting the first of the rapiers scrubbed!

I'm now in the process of assembling it and getting the arms set (I wasn't a huge fan of the default gunner arms) as well as getting the autocannon barrels fitted. More to come!

Sorry to post twice in a row, but managed to get the first rapier all assembled!

The autocannons were a bit of a pain, which I kind of figured they would be since aligning 4 resin barrels like that can be a bit difficult. I ended up pinning them which I think worked pretty well. The gunner has different arms as well because I wanted something a little different. I'm gonna get this thang primed and basecoated soon so more to come!

You get a like just for aligning those autocannon barrels. Necessary, admittedly, but some people just don't bother at all and it looks terrible. This is going to be good, I have no doubt.

Excelletn work on the allignment of the autocannons there. As Olis said, it's crucial for the look of the final product to make that work, but it's a real hassle. I love that you're going for a Quad linked autocannons as a Hades Autocannon. Such an excellent idea. I might steal it, actually.

@Augustus: Thanks dude! Yeah I figured that was the best route to go since I prefer a slightly less demonic/possessed look with my dudes, and it's so easy to get autocannons in bulk now with the FW heavy weapon kits. Feel free to jack it man! 

 

I'm finishing up the gunner right now, then it's on to the rapier itself! More to come!

Hey ya'll! I managed to finish up the first rapier!

I added a base because I kind of figured they looked better that way, plus it unifies it with the rest of the army that much more. I also forgot to take a picture of the rapier with the gunner centurion when I had the camera setup but I'll be sure to get some groups shots of em once I get the second one done!

Next up is assembly on rapier number 2! More to come guys! Thanks for lookin'!

Still following, still impressed.  Particularly, I love your highlights.  You either know some secret technique of holding and dragging a brush that I don't know, or you've got unbelievably steady hands to make lines as crisp as those.  Now back to the painting table! The VIII legion demands more! :P
