Xenith
Ok, so pic dump of the completed Devastator Squad - somehow a bunch of photos vanished between my phone and computer, but here's what's left: EDIT: I've noticed a few touch ups that need doing, and some lenses that need attention, damn hi res photos. Sergeant: Squad Leader Lascannon 1: Lascannon 2: Lascannon 3: Lascannon 4: Bolter 1: Bolter 2 (a.k.a. Brother Bullet Catcher): Bolter 3: Bolter 4: Thanks for looking! Tyriks
What's the bolter in bolter 4 from? As always your detail work is fantastic!
appiah4
Pretty damn good, though a brighter layer of edge highlights on all green laurels and purity seals would significantly improve the models I feel.
9x19 Parabellum
Hey Xenith! I'm new to this forum so I just digested all 16 pages of this thread in one go. It's really cool seeing the evolution of your painting skills over this time. Nice work.
Xenith
What's the bolter in bolter 4 from? As always your detail work is fantastic! Hey, thanks! The bolter is a betrayal at calth bolter with the muzzle cut off, and a piece of brass rod attached, cheapo sniper bolter! Pretty damn good, though a brighter layer of edge highlights on all green laurels and purity seals would significantly improve the models I feel. Noted, I'd shaded them will go back and pick out the laurels on that squad leader (after he achieves something in game) Hey Xenith! I'm new to this forum so I just digested all 16 pages of this thread in one go. It's really cool seeing the evolution of your painting skills over this time. Nice work. Thanks very much, Rocmistro! It's flattering that you would go through it all! I think i'm really starting to push myself with every squad, to do that last layer of highlights, when my body is telling me to stop... Quixus
Those devastators look fantastic. Is bolterdude 4 overcompensating for something? ;) I think the lascannon would look even better if you painted the part of the barrel sticking out in a different colour (i.e. metal) than the barrel covering/muzzle brake. Xenith
Those devastators look fantastic. Is bolterdude 4 overcompensating for something? Thanks, and yes, he knows his time is short before he sells his life to protect the lascannoners, so has a long barrel to do damage where he can. I think the lascannon would look even better if you painted the part of the barrel sticking out in a different colour (i.e. metal) than the barrel covering/muzzle brake. Do you mean the half circle of barrel beneath the muzzle? I'll add it to the list! Also, a group shot that disappeared into the ether when posting: Edited November 28, 2016 by Xenith Lucumon and Damon Nightman 2 Back to top

Xenith
So progress continues on my second restored land speeder, now converted to a typhoon. I decided to make this guy a sergeant, or at least a squad leader. I have been on the receiving end of two typoons from my Dark Angel playing buddy before, and they're a pain, I look forward to causing misery with my own. I've just remembered I have a speeder and speeder storm in boxes in storage also. See you in the shame thread.
