Thanks guys! The quarter pattern on the knee pad, SCC, denotes the honor of serving alongside his Primarch and the contingent of Custodes in the successful procurement of +++REDACTED+++ in the +++REDACTED+++. msn-wink.gif

EDIT: The Deathshroud ones come with the balled neck too, Disruptor smile.png

I totally got that even with the redacted parts, great bit of fluff there. I also forgot to post my comments on your work earlier. I really like what you've done with the centurion kit. You have made me seriously consider bits ordering one to try the repose myself and I don't even have a 40K marine army, just 30K. I also like the blue tinted highlights on the black armor. It looks more "tactical" and spec ops to me as well, great job.

What about the Phoenix Guard heads? Do those also have a balled neck?

Concerning the colour scheme, it looks good. Nice clean highlights and I like the blue tinge that you've added to it :)

Thanks for the comments, brothers!

Between my festering band of Nurgle wolves and work, my poor RG have been shunned too long but no more! Aerial reinforcements inbound thanks to some shmuck in a red suit:

Over the moon with my gifts! Happy to finally have my own copy of Massacre, and the bags of resin are a Fire Raptor and a Sicarian Battle Tank. The Storm Wing is a complete surprise which will steer me into building a modular force that can play either 30 or 40k. While having your birthday so close to Christmas and the New Year makes for overshadowing, the big gifts more than make up for it :)

Part of the Heresy-Era force I've started:

Tarec Kal, former Centurion of 3rd Company of the 4th Chapter's 2nd Battalion. Terran-born and a survivor of the Istvaan Massacre, Corax appointed Tarec as one of his Shadow Captains of the newly formed Talons. He currently leads his line legionnaires at the forefront of ongoing operations against Iron Warrior controlled systems on the western fringe.

Lots of pics! But this guy was a joy to shoot. Happy to have the Mk III legs work well with the RG Mk VI chest :)

EDIT: Still need to gap fill those legs with GS

Part of the ship.....

Part of the god damned crew!

Everyone should get on board! This is a great time to jump 10,000 years into the past; 40K is becoming something else - not that I mind it as much as others - and we've all deep down wanted our marines to fight alongside our primarchs, alongside the Warmaster or the Emperor. BE THERE THE DAY THE PALACE FALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While it's nice to see another talented painter and modeler drawn into the Heresy I would like to see an update on your modified 40K Centurion.  I just received a couple of them as gifts from a friend and wanted to try converting them like your fine examples.  Have you done any more work to yours at all?

I haven't done any further work to my 40k Centurion, Mikhail. I did dry fit the crotch and ass covers, and they went a ways to thickening out the slim waist of my conversion though :)

Threw together my take on Captain Agapito. He'll be represented as a Praetor equipped with a combi-weapon, Iron Halo, artificer armor, and a paragon blade in the form of the archaeotech pistol (at initiative, ap 2 with the chance of instant death seems like a good fit for a deadly pistol in close combat). I was inspired by the events of the end of Deliverance Lost, with Agapito manning the lascannon. I ran with that image, making arming him with two mean looking guns. The figure loosely uses the Master of Relics captain as its base. For the armor, I went with the chest of the FW Iron Hands kit as it looked like repaired/reworked mark III armor. I nicked the cog marks off the neck line and put on some RG brass, and added some bits around the heightened waist. Happy with how he turned out :)

Hey man, just read through this entire thread. You have some ridiculous modelling skills. It's really inspiring.

Cheeky question for you - could i request a bits list for that latest model? The praetor with the combi plasma?

Thanks for the compliments, brothers! KOTR - I got a cordless drill for xmas that has some really teeny tiny bits that might just work :), goosey - the helm comes from the MK IV commander set, the torso comes from the MK III Iron Hands set, the pistol comes from the Legion Praetor set, the legs, left pad, and combi-plas come from the Master of Relics set, and the RG right pad and backpad come from the RG set.

I really hope that was a joke about the electric drill and the barrels, that is asking for trouble. I like the new mini but I really wish that you would finish that Centurion, at this rate I'll never get to see it painted.

Will we ever get to see any of this :cuss painted?

I need to learn to love painting as much as I do modelling. It feels like such a huge chore at the moment. Time to plan and assemble stuff for me is about equal to painting it, so it's not a time issue. I just love creating more than adding finishing touches.
