Evil Eye Posted May 15 Share Posted May 15 TITHI got carried away and, rather than working on something I've already started, dug into the stash and began work on something new. Emperor help me. Behold, the start of the Land Raider Consecrator. So far I've just mated the turret superstructure of a Malcador to the Land Raider hull (I managed to find a seller on eBay providing just the hulls for £35 a pop, which is half the price of the full kit and I can print any of the missing parts I don't have in my bitz box) and started to sand down the detail to be more in line with the Space Marine vehicle look, but I intend to give it twin-linked autocannon sponsons, and possibly a weapon in the hull too, though I may delete the hull turret. As the internal space will be taken up with ammunition for the battle cannon it won't have transport capacity, so I'll block up the assault ramp and give it a dozer blade. Obviously I need to majorly tidy up the surface of the turret, and also add plenty of details (stowage etc) to cover up any wonky bits I can't/won't fix add to the authenticity of the tank. When it will be done, I won't have any model left for this faction (Unless I end buying more later of course). I need to give the bases a wash then a few touch ups and varnish then these will be done too and I will have to start moving onto the next unit. I'm in danger of actually making progress here! Havokas Posted May 26 Share Posted May 26 Tried Vellejo Ruby Red through an airbrush, its pinker in real life so im not thrilled. but its nice to know you can absoutly put vellejo metals through a cheap airbrush you just have to do a full breakdown clean afterwards. Evil Eye Posted May 28 Share Posted May 28 YITHI spent far too long printing, assembling, converting and basing a Leviathan Dreadnought to count as a Redemptor; I would like to give 11th a shot, but the Redemptor looks too much like Probopass with limbs to me. I had made a conversion a while back but I think it's in storage, and you can never have too many Dreadnoughts. Seen here with a plastic Castraferrum. Spent ages working on the base, with the traitor being trampled into the mud under his iron heel. Also featuring homemade barbed wire and a tonne of texture paste. Fluffwise I envision this as the "Perditor Dreadnought", a technically unsanctioned pattern based on an incomplete Leviathan chassis, salvaged from a long forgotten battlefield by another Chapter but donated to the Death Crusaders as a gesture of brotherhood. The Death Crusaders do not trust Cawl's creations and prefer to use tried and trusted technology, or at the very least wargear developed in their own forges, so recognising the potential of the Redemptor but not wanting to risk consigning a hero of the Chapter to entombment within one due to the high burnout rate, the salvaged hull was repaired and mated with existing parts and a few custom mechanisms (including the fearsome "Corona" heavy plasma cannon) to make a functional equivalent. The Mechanicus of course protested, but agreed to it's sanctioning due to how remote the Death Crusaders are on the rim of the galaxy in the Imperium Nihilus. I finally got to paint some Terminators. All different Chapters.A Silver Guard( assault cannon ) Kraken chapter , Golden Gryphons , Marines Malevolent , Praetors of Ulixis . I have five more put together but yet to decide what chapters . Also found my old copy of Codex Armageddon. lhg033 Posted May 29 Share Posted May 29 Lost the moment in the heatwave but prior to that I managed to hobby every day and have - last unit of termagaunts is ready for varnish and I started blocking out the colours on the barbgaunts and winging prime - aiming to get the Nid half of Leviathan completed asap to then focus on the Orks in Armageddon Speaking of Orks, I did start building a couple from Combat patroil but then found I was out of glue. Specifically a 3D printed Tactical Marine as a test model for (and first member to bear) the revised scheme for my Chapter, the Death Crusaders, AKA "modern-day Marines if they still behaved like RT-era psychos". It's a bit hard to see here, in part because of the battle damage on his pauldron I used to hide some slip-ups, but their icon is a black guillotine with a red edge and a yellow flame pattern. He also features a knee marking reading "Delta Sigma" (specifically, the white triangle is the Delta and the black Sigma is, well, you can guess), a black Theta on his right shoulder (in Greek folklore a symbol of death/misfortune) and the text "FETH YOU!" written on his right greave.
