Today in the hobby my...

... seven year old son spontaneously picked up a few of my miniatures and started making 'pew pew' sounds. He has since set up at my bench and is having a ferocious battle with various models that has lasted for more then an hour. That's it gaming-seed, plant nice and deep. *Sheds a geeky tear*

I cannot wait for the day my son gets old enough for the possibility for this to happen. I'm so happy for you.

YITH I fielded a mix of my 1st, 2nd and 10th Co Ultramarines in a 1500 point game against KDK. The Emperor blessed us with a crushing victory over the heretics. The game was called at the end of turn 3 at 7 mael points to 1 with the marines having lost a total of 11 brothers whilst the Archenemy was in for a turn 4 tabling.

It made up ever so slightly for the devastation they were subjected to on Sunday in a 2000 point game against Tau Gundam force.

On the plus side the day before YITH my marines barbecued and plasma'd a tonne of Nidd. My lord though the Demachaeron is a beast in combat!

Finally YITH I will be sitting down to build and magnetise a second sternguard squad and all their combi and heavy weapon options. Can anyone say turn one drop pod death?

Oh and I also almost fainted at the beauty of the plastic St Celestine

TITH, I tested out a silicone mold as part of a product analysis of different mold making materials. I'll have a simple review tomorrow after I have a chance to snap some pictures.

def. interested in this!  i have previously used smooth-on but reg. silicone is more available here.

If you don't mind putting a link here when your review is ready that would be great!

Thanks a ton.

First day of Christmas break off work. So been keeping myself busy:

*I've finished all of my Khorne Beskerers, and going through 10 Bloodletters now. (Will update blog soon!)

*Made a World Eaters List to play around with with the new Traitor Legions.

*Excitied for my Bloodthirster to come at Christmas and some new Chaos Bikers!

*Off to WHW next Wednesday! Going to get some upgrade kits from FW for my bikers.

The long war continues!

TITH came home from my first day back at work to discover a message from one of my friends.  My most frequent local opponent is moving out of state.  Well I guess after two weeks of mainly playing 40k and DnD since I've been off work I'm heading back to the primarily painting version of the hobby.

in no way intending to come across as feminist or creepy i think it's good that they're bringing (slightly more) female models (sisters mainly).

would be good to see even more female miniatures.

not marines obviously :) but say guard... persons for starters. zombies, demons, more sisters. possibly the necromunda stuff.

not in order to 'attract a great female fan base' or anything serious like that but to show that all of humanity is involved in the fight.

the guard are generally an equal opportunity employer as far as i remember.... everyone fights, everyone dies.

Today In The Hobby i finished my game buddy's xmas present. a custom built Epic starter set for his new chapter; Rust Wolves.

Emperor i love holidays !

There's also the fact "always men, all the time" gets kinda boring after the second decade. Even if space marines are closer to sexless killing machines than to actual men.

Five minutes ago in the hobby I devoted two Salamanders sergeants to Khorne, along with my work table, a few paint pots, one duster and the floor.

Cough.

Hi

Two games v Blood Angels tonight.

The first used seven assassins at 1k. Another close game - this one was a draw at the end of turn six, with one surviving BA model. Three assassins remained. I had some fairly terrible luck at several points, but not unhappy with the results.

The second involved Codex: Just As Planned (C:IA, C:I and Cypher, centred around a henchmen formation including 6 space monkeys and Coteaz.) in 1500.

Unfortunately the mission was the Relic, and the set-up was diagonals. Early jokaero success v enemy Vindicaire, but bogged down by enemy shooting despite my often 2+ armour and/or cover saves. Another draw (we stopped after turn 4) but I did toast the BA 2+/3++ /5+++ captain with Rending Heavy Flamers.

Tith I thought about putting together a chimera or a razorback...

Also found out that the rep for my local shop messed up and never sent any of the copies of traitor legions... we got CIA in already... sheesh.

Not a problem, although I'm putting this off till next week. I want to use a second material for the casts for comparison, especially for one mold product.

TITH I still haven't got the stuff I ordered from GW. Placed my order December 10th, was shipped the 12th.
I just hope the postal services in UK & Sweden that handled it didn't lose it on it's way.

So no Christmas Gifts for myself yet... :(

Yeah, hopefully it's only stuck in the tidal wave of Christmas shippings. Did notice on the Forge World site that Sweden is listed as taking up to 10 working days for Standard Delivery..

(Mainland Europe is 7 days)

I assume GW and FW uses same methods of Standard Delivery.
