YITH I got some time in on these bladeguard and captain. Visiting hours at the hospital for baby spoon are limited for Dads so I’ve tried to keep my mind off things by picking up the paintbrush. These guys get classic edge highlights as veterans/characters opposed to drybrushing. Hopefully it doesn’t stand out too much.

TitHi have seen a copy of Blackstone Fortress and Escalation with foam for the core game for £115 posted and I'm seriously considering it.

Looks like a fantastic game, I just know I'd want all the expansions and most of my funds go into my 30K hobby. Maybe this would be a nice break?

Edit: Never mind, missed it. Should have realised that was a good price posted. Still tempted to pick the system up as a pallette cleanser and eventually source the expansions (I'm a bit of a completionist).

More of my new Necromunda rescue. behold the haul of serviceable to caked on paint jobs! Starting to rescue a gang's worth of each Delaque and Escher.

Using LA's totally awesome which is easy on hands, non-stinky, water soluble and safe, and works reasonably well but the Escher must have had 2 different paintjobs and my cleaning brushes wont scrape out the details at all

so have been picking it out painstakingly on each model... any thoughts?

Getting a model on the GW website was my super long-term goal when I started my Instagram account, which I initially started to document my return to the hobby as a mindfulness/art therapy thing as my mental health worsened back when I was still working as a veterinary surgeon. I'm thankful to say that I'm doing a lot better now health-wise (working a much less stressful job) and that my painting has improved faster than I thought possible.

Isn't the venerable available in the Space marines starter box? If you already pulled the trigger then no problem but I'm a sucker for the cheaper starter boxes, (where you'd get 10 sm and a leader for extra 5 pounds...)

edit* ah the recent price rises+ GW retail costs push the starter to 55 so not unreasonable purchasing seperately.

You missed their point: the model featured on GW's site is the one SufficientAnonimity painted themselves.

:tu: Congrats, @SA

TITH I picked up the space marine apocalypse battalion detachment box quite cheap from a bloke selling some stuff in my gaming group. Putting it away for a rainy day when I’m in the mood for space marines again.

They're such a good way to quickly build out an army - I picked up one last year to get myself close to my target of 100 marines.

@Sufficient anonymity how long after contacting you did they put your photos up on the GW page? I got contacted by them 3 weeks ago and they still aren’t showing.

TITH I got 3 blade guard veterans finished whimsy the new snotling sleeps next to me. She is now my perfect excuse for late night painting sessions as I am “letting mum sleep undisturbed”

It was also appear that I past the half way point of my UM project.

Today in the hobby, I've taken the plunge and started stripping the paint off five Reivers that I absolutely botched, so I can bring them back to life as Stonebound.

First time cleaning models, seems to be going well so far but I'm watching them closely.

EDIT:

Never mind, it's raining again, so all that's on hold. The test model seems to be cleaning up nicely, but the other four will have to wait for another day!
