If any Marine faction completed all their vows they would beat the DA's current total. So it might really come down to the wire. Of course the DA's need to complete all their vows...

The completion rate across the board really is strangely low, though.

You're right.

 

The completion rate (defined as points completed over points pledged) is now 33% (after some completions post 12th update)  - so just a third of the pledged points are completed. That is compared to 46% in the same period last year. The forums that have the biggest miss compared to last year's performance (for end of week 12 that is) are the BTs (only 26% vs. 55% last year), SWs (29% vs. 51% last year) and Chaos ( 27% vs. 61% last year). Let's see if the last week can change the picture. You see this is not a linear progress - if particpants complete their vows we may get a huge completion rate in the last week. Or not. We'll see.

What's strange to me is that so many of the undone vows are small, so it shouldn't take 3 months to do them even for a semi-busy person. I guess it's the "oh, there's still time..." syndrome (kind of like with my LPC vow).

+++ETL II ENDS IN 24HRS+++

 

 

I won't be giving you too many details other than everything is at stake! The DAs lead of course but with some potential holes in their completion roster can make them vulnerable to an aggressive competitor! The BTs have effectively equalised the Codex and both are eyeing the first position! Chaos is also close behind and the BAs were really among the top ranking factions earlier today are now lagging due to BT completion frenzy! Unless of course they come up a completion wave of their own! SWs and Vive are lagging but with a substantial pool of vows that may still be completed! It's a close race - make no mistake! HH is just occupied with completing awesome stuff at their own pace. But I will revisit them soon...

Brave brothers and sisters, it’s time to remove your Oath of Moment for the moment has passed. It will soon be replaced with either the Custos Fidei or the dreaded Oath Breaker badge! Thank you all for participating - it's been a fantastic ride !

In the next couple of days I'll be compiling the data of the ETL II, cross-checking everything making sure there are no loose ends. During that time, you are welcome to post here anything that you feel requires my attention, be that an old completion that I did not explicitly acknowledge or anything else you may like to comment on. I will NOT accept any more completions though. None whatsoever!

Come this weekend, (most likely Saturday, August 19th) a full detailed report will be released and all the details of the ETL will be analyzed and be open for discussion. All participants will be awarded their badges and the faction to become ETL II Champion, the Primus Inter Pares, will be officially announced. So until then keep your breath for who know what really happened?

Captain Semper I've really enjoyed taking part in the challenge, thanks for taking the time to run it so well. Looking forward to seeing how much in total we've painted between all of the B&C. Makes you think what's possible when many men and women work hard toward the same goals.

This year we had two instances that require special recognition. The first was the participation by proxy and subsequent successful completion of the SW1 brother, MJ. He deserves a Custos Fidei but as he’s not a member here due to force majeure, SW1 is invited to add the “Brothers In Arms” badge in his signature to commemorate the event.

Section 5 – Closing Notes

 

Well this is it. The second ETL is now gone and what an event it was!

 

All of you showed passion and commitment, but most importantly you did so in polite and considerate manner, with good humor and always ready to help, support and comment on the work of fellow participants. The interaction between the Frater reached new highs as collective targets mingled with individual work and resulted in tightening the relations between the frater and promoting a sentiment of friendly competition!

 

Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed running it and I was humbled by the commitment all you showed but also by the amicable way that EVERY SINGLE FRATER behaved throughout the event! This was indeed a memorable occasion!

 

So I would like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to The Shadow Guard for finding time in his extremely tight schedule to produce the imagery and the badges for the ETL - without a strong visual identity the ETL would just not be what it is - thanks mate! I would also like to thank the Inner Circle for supporting this event and of course the official B&C and Brother Tyler in particular for providing feedback and ultimately allowing ETL II to go ahead. Last but not least, I'd like to thank all participants who so enthusiastically took part in this year's event regardless of the outcome! You've all been fantastic, respecting both the letter and the spirit of the rules and of course never deviating from the B&C principles!

 

Now what lies ahead? Well the Blood Angels are planning their own “in-house” event. If the ETL was a reason to spark that flame, I’m extremely proud! It’s about time the Sons of Sanguinius to become again the painting super-power they once were and starting getting to shape with their own event is the best way to do it! Good luck and feel free to ask for support should you need it!

 

The Dark Angels, the Primus Inter Pares can take a breath and rest for a while. That is unless The Shadow Guard, Grand Master of the Inner Circle has something else in mind…

 

The Codex and the Black Templars eagerly await the new unified Codex: Space Marines and see what is in store for them, what new rules and new units will become available and try to make themselves at home in this new environment. Hopefully it will arm the factions with a new arsenal and renewed vigor to face another challenge, another day.

 

Chaos will be expecting the new Call! You think it’s over? You are soooo mistaken! So get ready because the Dark Gods are still thirsty and ready to bestow their gifts to their loyal minions!

 

Lastly the newcomer to the ETL, the Horus Heresy faction will soon see a dedicated event to the 30k setting so, brothers start planning! Can’t say any more at the moment but things will happen!

 

And above all everybody start getting ready for ETL III – for who is brave (or foolish) enough to wrestle the title of Primus Inter Pares away from the Sons of the Lion?
