Night Lords 15th Company - In Memoriam...Pg.68

@Jaspcat:

Don't threaten me with a good time!

@BCK:

Like I said man, the attention you're giving those White Scars inspires me :) I think I may have dropped a line or two about making a heresy Night Lords army here and there, but just in case, yes I can confirm that down the road I will be returning to 30k and the days when Sevatar roamed the galaxy :)

Hahaha I was merely joking my friend since I'd feel unclean purchasing something that's obviously taken so much time and effort and I'll leave being unclean to those Death Guard hovering (or sticking?) around the Nurgle Forum.

The offer is most generous although I shall decline merely because having one such model in my 30K Night Lords will make me rage quit because I know I'd never get any of the rest to such a high standard

Sweet terminators man. I have always thought that the Night lords aesthetics are awesome, but the GW execution of the Night lords style was a fail. You are making them so awesome looking. Making me re-think my choice of going with Alpha legion (with slaaneshi flair) when I painted my Dark Vengeance guys.

Lightning flashed above the rain-soaked jungle. Thunder
followed, making the trees quiver in its wake. The sound reminded Taron of
home. Closing his eyes he could picture Nostramo, a world of midnight, its
streets filled with violence and corruption. As he reminisced, his armored
fingers toyed absent-mindedly with a shard of adamantium strapped to his belt.
It had been taken from the destroyed remnants of Nostramo’s planetary crust and
served as a potent reminder of the primarch’s fury on that black day. Destroying
their home world had been the very act the act that had finally set the legion
free from the Emperor’s chains. Taron liked to remember that day.

“Advance.”

The vox-distorted voice of Cor Madrek rumbled in his ear,
snapping his attention back to the present. The massive Atramentar champion
stood off to his right, regarding Taron from an ancient, tusked war-helm. Grunting
in acknowledgement, Taron activated the energy field of his massive war-axe and
set about chopping down the thick trees barring their way.

They had been fighting in this swamp for a week now and thus
far the Marines Exemplar had proven to be quite tenacious foes. Volusia was
classified as not only a death world, but also a recruiting ground for the
Marines Exemplar chapter of the Adeptus Astartes. Upon arrival in the Caedon
Belt, the 15th company had prioritized the annihilation of this
valuable Imperial asset. In bringing ruin to Volusia they could not only deny
the future influx of recruits to a loyalist chapter, but also plunder valuable
Astartes munitions and supplies. Unfortunately, the ample defenses of the
recruitment monastery meant that the under-strength 15th would be
forced to take the scenic route in order to effect an entry.

As Taron smashed through the trees, he glanced to his left
at Malicoth. His fellow Atramentar had apparently stumbled into the nest of
some kind of massive crocodilian, which was at that moment attempting to devour
him. The great, scaled beast however, had made a grave error in judgment.
Malicoth caught the creature’s jaws with both hands as it lunged for him, and
slowly started forcing its jaws open with the massive strength of his
terminator-armored body. With a sickening crunch, Malicoth broke the
reptilian’s neck and tore away its lower jaw. Tossing the grisly mandible
aside, the Atramentar retrieved his axe and continued the advance as if nothing
had even happened.

“Objective sighted, engaging.”

That was the voice of Kuul Zhar, warped into a harsh,
metallic bark by the vocalizer unit attached where his jaw had once been. The
irony of what Malicoth had just done was not lost on Taron. Kuul Zhar had lost
the lower half of his face to a Dark Angel’s power maul during the Thramas
Crusade. It was a shame he made penance for by flaying every son of the Lion he
encountered and wearing their bones upon his baroque war-plate. His
combi-bolter roaring in answer to the thunder crashing above, Kuul Zhar waded
into the clearing around the Imperial communications array. Racking his weapon,
Taron moved up to support his brothers’ assault. Cor Madrek and Malicoth
stormed up beside him, adding the weight of their fire to Kuul Zhar’s own.
After taking the outpost, they would use it to broadcast the torture of the
Marines Exemplar scouts they had captured earlier. Though Space Marines ‘knew
no fear,’ they certainly knew rage, and that rage would make them blind. One
blind spot was all they would need to crack the recruitment monastery. Leading
the pack of monstrous killers, Cor Madrek stomped forwards and roared out the war
cry of the VIII Legion.

“We have come for you!”

Beneath his skull-faced helm, Taron smiled; Volusia would
fall, and soon, so would the rest of the Caedon Belt…

Welcome back everyone! Sorry this update took a little longer, school started up again with a vengeance, so it's been a bit of a balancing act trying make sure everything gets it's due attention, this army included. I've also been putting in some hours building up the back story for the campaign my friends and I are running this November, so I've decided that the short excerpts will now all take place within the framework of our campaing's setting, more on that later though. For now just know that it takes place in the Caedon Belt near the Eye of Terror during the 13th Black Crusade.

Anyways, enough talk. I present the Atramentar brotherhood of the 15th Company, VIII Legion.

As always, C&C is greatly appreciated! Next up is Captain Hashec Tor himself and possibly a sneak peak at a new project... ;)

Ave Dominus Nox!

@Vazzy:

Thanks!

@Jaspcat:

Tears of blood I hope ;) (and it's XVth, your Roman  Numerals were one off)

@Kol_Saresk:

Haha! No I haven't actually, I had no idea it even existed, just came up with a random planet name. Kinda fitting I suppose that it's a jungle world then. Weird that the spelling is exactly the same... 0_o

@Capitano:

Thanks man, I aim to please ;)

@Cheddybob:

Awesome! Glad I can inspire others to rectify GW's sizing issue lol.

Yeah, it was kind of funny because I'm reading through it I'm like, "Trees packed in close together. Check. Thick underbrush. Check. Humidity. Check. Gators. Check. Name. Check. Huh. All that's missing is mosquitoes..."
