Damn, your Kranon the Relentless lord oozes evil and awesome in equal measure. That neon green contrasts so well with the black.

a real update finally, started working on my next helldrake. and remembered to take a few pictures.

as I mentioned before im not overly fond of the standard configuration of the helldrake, so I wanted them to look more like fighterplanes.

 

this time I plugged up the exhausts before gluing the model together, last time I stuffed in green stuff inside it  wasn't that smart to do it as an afterthought, but wanted to do osl on them.

 

this time I cut out small plastic card bits and glued in place

and with the big exhaust I made a bigger piece of plastic card and filed into shape for a snug fit

for the front I added another bit of plastic card going to fit the neck on that with some green stuff sculpting to make it look nice and chaos like

I took the saw and cut the neck down to size for mounting on the plastic card in front

really like the front wings to be pointy out in front like the forge world plane.

the under wing bits I just tagged in place to see how it looks not sure if im gonna remove those later on.

here I used some poster tack to test fit the rear facing wing bits, really like the look of them going backwards

This config is the one im leaning mostly towards at the moment, and with all of them im going to need to add the head too of course but for now we are just going to have to imagine it there

also been thinking about basing, last one as you most likely seen I had burning marines on it and fire in the scorched V shape on the base after the drake had drenched it, not sure what to on this, ruins? burning guardsmen running? still trying to find just the right look

another update on the helldrake, have it in two bits upper and lower, gonna paint them like that then glue it tighter.

I borrowed the head from my maulerfiend, going to have the same model of head, just waiting for a friend of mine that have the bits laying about.

with the base I don't know what to do with it, so if any of you have ideas or suggestions for what to do with the base for this please let me know, could really use some help with that, got a total mind blank atm.

Seems to me you've set the tone for your 'Drakes - burning destruction. I'd devise another scene of Loyalist casualties flickering with warp flame. Maybe have one running in panic, burning like a match. "Stop, drop, and ROLL! Stop, drop, and ROLL! ... Oh, never-mind, you're already as good as dead."

Hello everyone back again been a bit chaotic lately.

 

But what is new, been side-tracked from my plan, then side-tracked to something else then again on something new.

 

was working on my helldrake, its pretty much ready for paint, glued it into two big bits top and bottom, and finally got the maulerfiend head from my friend, sadly it was glued tighter, was planning on opening the mouth on it like the other one, but its too hard when its glued, was pretty happy with the pose of it.

 

still haven't decided on basing for it, so still hoping that you guys will come with some more suggestions.

So might be some flaming imperial guardsman running in panic as they burn and die in a inferno of green flame. 

If I chose that not sure of the setting the terrain of the base.

 

right now its on gold was going to spray basecoat it then start painting then glue it tighter when it been painted.

but until I get my pay I have no spray

 

so with that on hold I got side-tracked, so started building two test plague marines, to test the paint scheme I had in mind for it, looks like it works.

and then again I couldn't stay away from my havoc aspiring champion so painted that a bit.

 

aaaaand then.. I been waiting quite a long time for a vindicator, that a friend let me borrow.

I have a couple of rhinos and I put in magnets so they can be changed into predators if needed.

and after being shot to bits by imperial guards I flipped through my codex and went vindicators Oooooo!

 

So had to go with a vindicator upgrade too, so I borrowed a vindicator and started to build a siege shield dozer blade in plastic card, going to add magnets to them so I can snap them on and make a cannon mount for the front to add it on the front.

 

so I am currently sitting in a snowstorm of plastic dust working on those, need to complete those so I can fit them and add magnets inside the rhinos before I can glue them tighter, and I cant do the décor trim and such before they are glued and paint them up, so they been on hold quite a long time.

Update time, been a bit busy but the dozer blade is about done, just needs rivets which ill ass later.

will start to build a vindicator cannon that can be snapped on with magnets on top of my rhino's.

 

so will add some pictures here, there is a kill team tournament this weekend, and I need plague marines, so will have to convert some normal chaos marines, wont add any pictures of those, would be silly next to Zsoulless awesome plague marine thread

Okay a few days later and I am finally done with the vindicator upgrade, well ill still add chaos touch to it so waiting with rivets until I do the décor. 

the vindicator I had borrowed needed to be returned tomorrow, so just made it

 

when I have more time ill make 2 sets more so I can upgrade all my rhinos, now I have the first set so I know where to place the magnets before I assemble them.

 

the whole reason for this is I need 2 rhinos for upcoming tournament, requirements is for all models to be painted, couldn't paint it before I had added the trim on the outside and other chaosnes, couldn't do that before it was glued tighter, couldn't glue it tighter before I placed the magnets, and couldn't place the magnets before I made the vindicator bits so I would know where to place them...  *takes a deep breath*

 

So anyways, now I need to go back to building/converting normal CSM to plague marines and paint them up, paint and assemble the helldrake, and the rhino, before the tournament , so much to do so little time!.

tried to make it fit as snugly and flush as possible, but I want the bits to be interchangeable, and sadly one o my rhinos I got second-hand and its visor was glued on the wrong way, on top of the front, so had to adjust a little.

started work on the barrel, but I only had one size of pvc tubing, and it was a little too big, to start with I tried cutting a section out then folding that into another bit to make it smaller, but too much effort so switched and drew up the end of the barrel a little smaller so it would fit after I wrapped 0.50 plastic card around it, seemed to work fairly well other than accidently gluing it onto myself and my cutting mat.

Made a Test plague marine, not fond of the standard plague marines, the bloated stomachs and  pustules.

so made my own, not overly Nurgle but wanted to try and see if this idea I had worked.

 

so liked the cracked armour of plague marines, so the ones I build from normal CSM I just changed them up added some extra hoses and then cracked the armour a bit.

 

so painted the test model up like my normal ones, then around the cracks I made patches of corrupted armour in the colour I use for demon skin, so greys, lightest at the edges then fading out to the black of the power armour.

in the cracks and bullet holes I added the green of the legion a light glow underneath.

 

Now I would really like some feedback on this, is it working? is it passable for plague marines even tough they arn't pregnant looking?

 

not all done yet, also need backpack and a magnetized weapon and more glow effect

Really digging that plaguemarine, he's a nice deviation from the norm, I like how he retains the warband colors but has the insidious mark of Nurgle creeping through.

the plague marines are set aside, and in full vehicle mode, painted the inside of my rhino just cause I cant really do it later when its glued together and I know I will regret it if I don't later on.

 

so now its glued I started on the trim, using Subtle Discords chaos rhino trim 3.

drawing on top of it changing it a little to better fit my army. 

 

then taping it on then marking and cutting on 0.75 plastic card.

so next step is fixing any gaps or groves with green stuff, then drilling holes and filling them with rivets, not that fun part soooo many rivets.

 

after that it need a basecoat and painting up, but might not be able to get at my basecoats straight away, if that happens ill work in plague marines again.

ON the plague marines, I believe shaws was supposed to be shawls, as in the form of draped clothing. I know I wouldn't be upset about you calling those plague marines, although I might prefer a little more cracking.

cool thanks, gonna see if I can add a bit more, the cracks are hard to make cause the new knife blades I got have awful tips not as pointy as I like, but when I painted this first one I noticed that I needed a lot more to make it look good, was quite a few to start with.

gonna add some cloth too to them a bit tattered cloth here and there. 

 

I also just noticed I got another subscription and a few likes, its always a little surprised, because there are so many talented people here, so many of you make such amazing things, but looking at all your work here is great, gives me ideas and inspires, so thank you all and keep up the great work!
