Awesome stuff but I gotta know, how'd you do the ears? What kit are they from?

The head and the ears are both from the Raptors box. The "ears" are directional vanes you would normally attach to the back of the jump packs.

Yup..

I cut into the helm to attach them instead of trying to carve away the vanes to fit them in place.. It will be far simpler to GS the helm to make it look seemless..

I tacked him together because I want to at least figure out how Ill build Berserkers and thousand Sons before I finish my plague marines and jump into painting them and my Noise marines..

Chains, skulls, fur cloaks, etc, etc... I think it will work

Glad you guys like the concept.. Means im on the right track once I get around to actually working on them..

I have the really basic start for my thousand Sons marine as well.. heres one roughly tacked together..

The concept revolves around their Egyptian  style headdresses  being turned into pseudo Psychic Hoods

...Back to Nurgle...

These four really match their respective unit types perfectly. The ThousandSons psychic hood is simply perfect, and although I prefer the bunny hears to the ones mounted on the backpack (when toned down), the style works and is a clear reminder of the link with Khorne. Although use of a chainsword instead of an axe is somewhat of a disapointment ;)

But still, everything, including the little paint we've seen on the NM, is spot on! Keep on the amazing work please!

Z, I'm sorry to say this, but I'm not blown away by the headpiece on the 1k Son. The sculpting on it is great, as usual, and the idea is clever, but it looks to me like his headpiece sat out in the sun for too long. :(

Bah.. Thats OK Kage... Hes just a tacked together mass of bits.. A proof of concept, nothing more..

We will see what happens when i actually work on the unit..

Right now Im just trying to Wrap my head around the last three plague marines so I can get to paint..

Part of me really likes it still has the ridiculous height of choas head rests just when they run they would'nt fall head first due to the great weight on there foreheads, Or is that why you need choas gods hehe. But I would like to see how else you twist the look of the thousand sons as I really like the idea of Egyptian-esk space marines.

OK.. All I have left are a few little details and some Clean up...

The Next Time I Post any Pics I Will Be Painting..

I Even Got all new Brushes, so No more excuses..

Wish me luck..

& Thanks For Watching!

Got the whole Group Primed, and Base coated, plus a little bit of color on this one today..

I have to sharpen up some details. I have a bit of blending, and highlights to fix, some chipping, and gore to add.. blah blah blah

i.e.I still have a lot more to do

What do you think of what I have so far?

((note: I had to switch backgrounds.. while the green still looks a little off in the pic it was A lot worse with the blue background))

Awesome sculpting work! Love the colours too, they definitely look Nurglish, but with a nice comic book look to it. I think you could add some washes/glazes here and there to add some shadows and different hues... if you're into that stuff!

Can't wait to see more of them and of the Khornate madmen that are coming up wink.png

I'm not a fan of that green.  The gore/sick is fine, but that shade of green is...off.  It's so bright.  It's somewhere between patina-green and seafoam green, and looks more like paint than rot/decay/grossness.

Of course that very well me the intention, for them to have painted their armor that color, but it still strikes me as ugly in the wrong sort of way (as opposed to the proper, pretty sort of ugly Nurgle demands).

I would add brown, either as a wash to deaden the 'clean' nature of the green, or add some light brown into another coat or drybrush-esque highlight to give it that more typical icky off-white-off-green Nurgle look.
