Those look far too varied and interesting for a loyalist non-marine army. They must be once per game only or something.

Is that sarcasm?

Thinking more about the Wyvern. I like that it isn't ap3 or better. ap4 might have been way too good. But if the Green Skins stay roughly the same then it should deliver a hurting, even on things with as good as a 4+ save. Were not Space Marines so we shouldn't play like them. I have also been wondering if this codex was being written to stand up to itself as much as all the other armies.

If I did get a Hydra/Wyvern it would primarily be for AAA...but might magnetis it so I have the option to make my Ork-playing friend weep.

That the Wyvern is TL Heavy 2 makes it more accurate...though I'd still prefer a Colossus and Griffon.

EDIT: I just read 'Tank Commander/Warlord/Tank Orders' in the WD leaked pages.

Orderly!

Fetch me some new pants.

This! It is about time and a grand thing it is as well!^^

Now if only Forgeworld will be quick with a update for the Drop Trooper lists...

I am actually getting rather excited for this new book, which is great^^

Sidenote: Reading the new Warzone: Democles (Which as the other Warzone books I read suffer from too many special character syndrom and piss poor writing), I noticed they mentioned Magog's ratlings as if we should know them. Perhaps it could be a hint for a new ratling unit upgrade/special character. Probably not, but would be cool.

So yet another Artillery piece? Though if it is an armored version of a heavier Thud / Quad gun, it might be interesting. Did someone see a more specific description somewhere of what it fires apart from "large bore cannons" and "high caliber shells".

2 TL heavy 2 (so four shots between both guns) S4 AP6. Barrage, Ignores Cover, Shred.

Should be easy enough to find on faeit 212 or your preferred rumor site. The main thing not being picked up it seems is that it has two guns.

Thanks!

Thinking Colossus Bombard might still be better (but more expensive) because of the larger blast and better AP, but not sure.

Definitely lots of stuff that is piqueing my interest. I might just buy this latest issue of White Dwarf. I think I'll go for the digital version of the codex itself, though. It is so handy being able to have all my codices in one place (my iPad) plus two of my codices are digital only anyway (Adepta Sororitas, Inquisition).

That Hydra looks like its inescapably open-topped. Not sure what that will mean for my DKoK who have the old school closed-top Hydra in their list. How long before Forge World issues an FAQ to update the assault brigade list? Should I build my Hydra closed-top banking that they won't FAQ promptly? Although I guess closed-crew compartment is usually an upgrade option. Ah, the perils of using a Forgeworld list, especially for tournaments! Doesn't sound like they have doctrines back in this new codex though, and a doctrine like the old Die Hards and Close-Order Drill would have been the only things that would prompt me to go back to standard Guard (at least for the tournament I'm currently prepping for).

All I care about is that I saw the option for Tank Commander HQs and nearly wanted to faint (being manly I can't faint but oh well.) If that also allows Russes for troops choices, and platoons can still take Chimeras, then I know what kind of army I'll be playing from now on (with Hydras in heavy support.)

He's mentioned in the current Imperial Guard Codex as one of the most famous Ratling snipers in the Imperium. Apparently, during the Damocles Crusade, he became the first Imperial to kill an Ethereal.

Wait!  What's this about tank orders?  Oh,  and I can't wait for the new warlord traits...I like some of the stuff we have now, like al'rahem outflanking an entire mechanized platoon (yep, I do that with four chimeraloads of hurt!) and Creed outflanking a demolisher squadron (ouch!), but the standard warlord traits are mostly kinda meh for us imho

If this is the same as the IA:Armored list then the problem is that you lose FRFSRF and the other regular characters. Course you can always ally A-IG w/IG I guess. I've been doing it the other way around just for Beast shells though.

Apparently the Wyvern costs the same as a 5th ed. barebones Vet squad.

That's cheap. Very cheap.

For the rumoured properties just as well! I think it'll have a place purely through the cost alone - assuming your Heavy Support slots aren't taken. I'm still a little unsure about it's appearance though, they could have made it a bit more different to the Hydra.

That's my main concern, though I don't always use all 3 slots as I like my Fast Attack options so I could probably squeeze something in. All depending on how the new codex is of course, I'm hoping the new orders are a sign that infantry is becoming more useful...

Hey team, sorry if someone's already posted these, but pics of a new Commissar model and a different loadout for Bullgryns:

Sorry they're a bit small, found them in the comments section on Natfka.

No great surprise at the commissar since one is on the cover of the new codex. And here's me just ordered two old metal ones ! :D (Though I think I prefer their poses to this new one's: I ordered the casual execution with a boltoistol, and the book-and-power fist ones ). Here's hoping the new one has a couple of alternative arms!

Yeah, like I said in the News and Rumours post the commissar just looks off. The metal ones are great - everyone gets the bolt pistol and power fist ones as they're outstanding models. Imposing and confident just like a commissar should be - but with sensible poses and head wear :P

I like the Commissar, but they didn't paint the sash right. We all know it's red...

Reed some rumor junk on Naftka earlier. They say the Vendetta will drop to only transporting 6 models.  and raise by 40 points.

I got a little upset about that. I can't think of a unit in the Imperial Guard that it would be able to transport now.

( As a side note I don't even use mine unless we play a really big game, I need to be able to use all of them! Go big or go home!)

So I'm not sure how I feel about the points increase.

The proportions on that new commissar model look off. His head, and certainly his hat appear too big for his body. I fully appreciate the jodhpurs though.

A 40 pt increase for a Vendetta would certainly be in order. As for reducing the capacity to 6 models, I could see that too, as a way to "force" people to use Valkyries more which is how its supposed to be. Vendettas are more gunships whereas Valkyries are more transports.

You could fit 5/6 man storm trooper/Scion squads into a Vendetta still. Maybe they will allow veteran squads to be variable size again. PCS or CCS as another option. So you still have plenty you can put inside IF that particular rumour is true.
