Could never quite picture how the Ragged Knight looks in my mind. I might have to read that part again when I finish the book. All I know is that it was a cool scene. laugh.png It'll be interesting to see your take on it.

Are you going to have cuts in him that shows eyes, faces and hands? I definitely remember that part. lol

Very nice work on the brass/bronze. It gets a bit muddy with the skull-exhausts on his backpack, though.

The red is also very well done, but again, it gets a bit chunky on his right pauldron. Somehow I feel like that's deliberate, but I can't tell what the purpose would be. But while I would never admit that you do Templars as well as me (cuz you don't, so there!) you definitely have a much better relationship with red than I do. I will have to rectify that failing on my part...verymad.gif

Really should go back and sharpen up those black highlights, too. You've got the experience for it now ;)

With that nitpickery complete, I do think it's a solid model. I'm only now seeing some little touches that I missed before, like the chain on his chest piece. Very clever modelling work all around.

I've been remiss Flint, I have been watching but not commentating - I'm a bad hobby-bro. My apologies.

So, Lheor looks, well, like a boss. A big fat angry boss. He's quite nicely squat and wide. Suits him. Your painting seems to have developed a lovely loose, almost scratchy style over these last few Chaos conversions, which I quite frankly love - it certainly suits these models and is a nice visual contrast to your cleaner Templars. In a way, it's making these characters more like pieces of art rather than gaming figures, which I guess they are really.

And you're clearly getting better and better and more confident with your skills as well - for me personally, this guy is leaps and bounds ahead of your earlier Luna Wolves characters.

Looking forward to seeing the Ragged Knight - considering our little brainstormer about what to use, I reckon you've made the perfect choice - I was even aware stuff like that had come out, that's how out of touch with GW I am now.

Anyways, TL-DR : looks the shizz, will comment more

Lheor looks fantastic Flint, great work on the helmet especially (just had to sneak a bit of 8th Legion in there didn't you?). It's really refreshing to see a Khorney Marine armed with something other than the tired and played out chainaxe and bolt pistol combo, I like that he uses a heavy weapon instead, it reminds me of the old "Khorne's Teeth" Havocs that ran around with Heavy Bolters and Autocannons. :)

Not sure if he plans to shoot me or bludgeon me to death with his big-ass heavy bolter

Both, he'd blow your legs off at the knees with the Heavy Bolter than club your helpless, screaming form into paste with it, t's the best(worst?) of both worlds! :D

Guys, girls, wanna see something really cool?

Just like a college dean, I've totally had a portrait done :d

Through a prodigious number of selfies (seriously, so many selfies) my bestie Priokoksik did an awesome job at a flattering interpretation of grimdark me. Since everyone knows my favorite human of the 30k setting is hands down, Lotarra Sarrin, the only possible acceptable take on me in the dark future *had* to be a starship captain. Thus, I give you Captain Flint Tredicem of the VIII Legion strike Cruiser Gleeful Genocide

@ Dantay - Haha, sounds like just the emotions a good interpretation of Lheor should inspire.

@ Larkyn - Thanks!

@ AngryPantz - Always appreciate hearing it.mit actually took far less time than I thought it would after I figured out how I wanted to do the bronze.

@ Kreig - oh yay, glad to hear it! I feel like it's my best bronze/brass to date.

@Firepower - Ah, that right pauldron. It's actually a terminator pad from Lord Zhufor (of whom I have six, which I've used for nothing beyond the badass terminator helm). There is a detailed planetoid between the fangs that didn't show up quite as well as I was hoping it would.

The red is actually super simple. Nothing beyond a base, layer color and a wash.

@ Vesper - I hope he holds up to the hype. He may end up a little shorter than I was hoping for, but I think he's coming along nicely so far.

@ Midnight - Glad to hear it! It's actually a helm from the Night Lords terror squad with a Skullcrusher crest from the WoC in fantasy.

@ JackDaw - No worries, bestest hobby-bro :D

I'm glad Lheor comes off as bulky and agressive as I intended. The only thing I'm a tad upset over is that I spent a ton of time painting the flesh of his bare left arm and it barely shows :(

@ Atia - Thanks, girl! Oh goodness... The Knight is so highly anticipated. I hope he holds up when I actually finish him.

@ Sanguinious - of course I had to sneak 8th legion bits in there, it's in the blood :D

And that's exactly why I like Lheor as a character. He's from a Khornate devistator squad. How cool is that?

Hydra - That's supposedly the mark of a good conversion, right? Hard to tell that he isn't stock ^_^

Thus, I give you Captain Flint Tredicem of the VIII Legion strike Cruiser Gleeful Genocide

Captain on deck! *stands and salutes*

Ha, I see what you did there.

Lheorvine is freakishly cool!

like the portrait as well.

for someone that hasn't read the talon of horus yet, is the ragged knight a big character in it or what?

dare i hope you will make abaddon out of his terminator armour? (really liked the portrait of him from the book)

Morning everyone! Just a fun one-off for today :D

"Do you hear the voices too?"

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/540/tIw7Ml.jpg

"Can you hear them ROAR the names of the honored Gladiators of old? Can you hear them shriek for the spilling of blood and the taking of heads?"

"Ah... to be counted among those vaunted few... for your clan, your kills, for your name howled into the dark by the blood-drunk hordes... it's the only way to achieve true immortality."

@ Forte - Thanks! I feel like I am getting a little more confident. Glad to hear it kinda shows.

@ Recon - Haha, exactly what she was going for.

@ Sanguinious - I do try to be punny when I can get away with it.

@ Lokkorex - Glad to hear! The Ragged Knight is a Khornate daemon "somewhere between a wingless bloodthirster or a powerful hearald," that the main character uses in the beginning of the novel. I won't spoil anything for you, but suffice to say it gets dicey (in so many ways) and it cements Telemachon Lyras (the Emperor's Children astartes I'll do somewhere down the road) as an absolute hardass.

@ Kriegs - Haha, its anime style tongue.png

Ohhh, there's nothing I love quite as much as a surprise World Eater -- very nice! I especially love how the red, gold/brass and blue interact, making for quite a standout piece. Nice soundbite as well! :)
