Oh dear...I actually started painting something Marine like.

Actually, it is a Marine. And not Chaos either. Carcharodon Astra. Wasn't worried about being neat and clean on it so have done a mix of drybrushing and stippling. No wet palette and not really thinning the paint either. Still have weathering, transfers, and a few other bits to do but it's the first thing I've painted since November last year so good to dust the brushes off before getting into something a bit more in depth.

Hope you like it. Thank you for taking time to look :tu:

He's well-painted.

Shame I can't show the things I've been painting the past few years here  This is borderline speed painting compared to normal. Thank you though.

If you fancy a comparison though.

Man, I’m really impressed with your work... you have made tremendous progress all these years.

I sure wish you commit to a board-appropriate project so we can enjoy your stuff regularly! :tu:

Keep going - you are an inspiration!

Well Forté, if the Carcharodon is any indication, you haven't lost your touch. I like it

Thank you

No problem. I was going to say, the quality matches the model in your profile picture, but then I realize there's quite a bit of time difference between those two. So clearly, your quality hasn't regressed, but definitely seems to be holding because that Chaos Lord is BEAUTIFUL.

There is all that new pretty stuff for Chaos Marines coming soon.... ;)

Funny that I don't really see the progress. Plus this marine is messy lol. As for "board-appropriate", let me know when things go historical, larger scales, and busts lol.

And something I've really realised over the past few years; everyone is an inspiration to someone. No matter the skill level. I still love seeing those new to painting improve and do things differently.

Thank you but there's a big difference between the two. The Lord has lots of glazing and converting. The Primaris..mostly heavy drybrushing  Glad you like it though.

Been looking but really not inspired. I won't speak my views here but I can't see myself falling for them with sculpting and casting I've seen.

Going to call this finished.

He's no BA or EC pretty boy but it's been good practice messing about.

Nothing fancy like glazing or NMM. Plenty of unthinned paint in one layer too.

Cheers for stopping by and taking a look :tu:

Never know, I may still do one final Divine Slayer later in the year.

Lovely Carcharodon. And you might say it's not that good, but it's still very well-done.

Now, how long before we see the rest of the squad? ;)

Thank you.

As for how long...I strongly advise that holding breath would be an extremely bad idea

I currently have 6 busts, 2 54mm figures, a 75mm figure, a demon reading a book, and 10 28mm figures on the go. None which I can show here sadly.

Ah, I see

I mean, there's official artwork of a Nurgle Daemon Prince with a stolen Inquisitor's notebook. So maybe that one is fine? I dunno  Plus, you know... Daemons

I kid, I kid. Or am I?

The Primaris Carcharodon is well-assembled, painted, and weathered.

Thank you Bjorn. Keeping it simple sometimes works.

The weathering is a combination of the rough heavy drybrushing and some final sponge chipping with charandon granite (still a great colour).

Hi. Feels like an age since I was last on these boards. Hope everyone is as heretical and fighting against the deluded followers of the corpse dictator.

So... why am I here?

Well... I've been conned into taking part in some Kill Team by the other two from the Mr Lee's Minis team, and well... in proper fashion I've gone for Chaos. Now I'm not doing my old Divine Flamers Slaanesh warband. But I've gone for my other favourite legion, the Night Lords.

I could've easily gone for a more renegade style group like Talos who aren't all fully into the whole Chaos thing (unless that's changed) but instead thought I'd go more down the Khorne route. Bit more like the original Realms of Chaos Night Lords.

But what to use?

Well I've decided to try this while the other two have gone for Necrons and Genestealer Cult:

  • Berserker Champion with Power Sword, Plasma Pistol, Specialist: Leader,
  • Possessed, Specialist: Zealot,
  • CSM Gunner with Plasma Gun, Specialist: Demolitions,
  • CSM Gunner with Heavy Bolter, Specialist: Heavy,
  • CSM with Bolter,
  • Berserker Destroyer with Plasma Pistol
All will be converted from Primaris because I find the CSM sculpts to be a bit too detailed and ornate for how I see Night Lords, and here are the first two WIP.

As you can see there is still more to be done but I've made a few press moulds of bits I have. Used Oyumaru and will be using Milliput to recreate those for use here.

med_gallery_29004_16690_330403.jpg

Anyway, I'll leave it at that for now. Hopefully I'll have an update in a week so long as I don't get distracted by other projects...

Thanks for looking.

Bit of an update as I've been playing around tonight with another two kill team members.

med_gallery_29004_16690_54087.jpg

Obviously more trophies are needed but that will come once the basic builds are pretty much done.

Here's the group of murderers so far...

med_gallery_29004_16690_1069911.jpg

Still the possessed and plasma gunner to be put together. Still playing with parts for them.

Let me know what you think so far though. Always open to input and feedback.

Cheers
