Sweet work!  Are you trimming kneepads to make it less "Primarisy"?  Only asking, but I think they look great!

Many thanks.

Don't think so much on removing the knee trim. Will likely do something with some of them. Useful for stretching skin from I think.

Looking nice. Only feedback would be to try and remove those ball thingies in the armour, but that's not a major issue.

Thank you

"Ball thingies" not sure what you mean to be honest. Do you mean by the ankles?

Yes. My powers of eloquent communication weren't activated when I wrote that post. :teehee:

In that case, give them leg warmers - made from human skin.

Great to see you back and activr, feels like an age!

Are you using milliput to make additional parts from the press moulds, or making more solid moulds using milliput?

I'm thinking I might get crisper details with milliput, but have only used GS so far.

Have already made the press moulds using Oyumaru which is basically the original version of the blue sticks many companies sell. Last time I did it about 5 years ago I used a GS/ Milliput mix which was okay. I think I'll get a sharper cast with straight Milliput though. Obviously you'll know here how it goes when I do it.

As for being active... I have been all the time. Just not really with any models suitable for B&C.

**Update**

Can safely say I got a little more done on the Kill Team today. Now I have six Marines built and waiting for me to break out the Milliput.

Chaos Marine Gunner with plasma gun (specialist):

Possessed (specialist):

med_gallery_29004_16690_199841.jpg

Plenty to do on them all though:

  • Legion markings on two,
  • more trophies,
  • flesh and muscle added to the possessed.

Then I'll get them primed black and get painting. Until then, here's the 6 Marines together awaiting a few optional Cultists.

Hope you like where they're headed. Always open for feedback and input so feel free to comment :tu:

Cheers :)

Ah, Forté's back! :biggrin.:

I thought you were lost to the Warp.

Your dirty heretics are looking sharp and dangerous as ever, I must say.

You're giving me ideas for a converted Primaris squad of my own... as though I don't have too many projects already! :laugh.:

Cheers mate, good to see you still on here.

Have been much more focused on things like busts, larger scale figures, Infinity, and even nearly finished my first Gundam kit too :D

** Update **

Okay...I've not vanished again but the motivation to do..well, anything really hasn't been the best lately. However; I've got around to getting various trophies added and the Milliput work done. Now I've just got to get them primed and get painting :biggrin.:

So here's an image dump

You'll be pleased to know that one of the trophies decided a blood sacrifice was needed as it quickly jumped off the Night Raptor I was cutting it from, leaving me to stab myself in the finger with the scalpel :censored:

Anyway...next time there will be some paint involved. Bit more of a speed paint that my usual painting I think. Keep it dark and murderous

Till then, stay safe and keep kicking the false emperor's lap dogs.

Loving the new work on them. Looks very good and proper.

Ah, that old chestnut  It's always fun to accidentally stab yourself

I'm excited to see how you paint them though.

Quite rare for me to do believe it or not. Has been a few years since the last time. Stabbing that is :D

As for painting...I can feel some Payne's Grey coming into the mix as a dark but not black night like colour.

  • 1 year later...

Been quite a while I know, but got distracted demotivated. However; this is what I've been up to recently...

Painting happened (shock horror).

Well, actually a few painting sessions happened but I'm terrible for updating.

First up, like many, I got working on the inner metallic stuff. Even had a play around using oil paints to do an oil wash, some weathering, and attempted some dot filtering on the main black panels that I won't try to paint any flames on.

med_gallery_29004_17309_160735.jpgmed_gallery_29004_17309_286514.jpgmed_gallery_29004_17309_153974.jpg

Not the greatest photos and I've a lot to learn about using oils.

I've also moved onto the yellow parts and being that I have a huge selection of paints (I don't), I was limited to classic 90's GW Sunburst Yellow, VMC Lemon Yellow, and VMC Ice Yellow. So, knowing how badly Sunburst covers and Ice Yellow is really more a pale highlight sort of paint, I went for the Lemon.

Now... I don't airbrush. Armed with a size 6 hairy stick I went to work, prepared for many, many (did I say many) layers over the grey primer. And, well...

med_gallery_29004_17309_937256.jpg

...after about seven layers, and some heavy stippling with a big brush... I gave in and ordered a pot of Averland Sunset (mainly because so many on FB kept going on about it). Oh... and it may have been delivered by two Warhounds. No idea how that happened

So here is where I'm at. Orange blocked in and ready for some flames.

med_gallery_29004_17309_529058.jpg

Still not a GW paint convert but it worked in about five coats.

I'll be sure to update once I've done some more. Looking forward to weathering this thing up after all the fancy looking stuff is in place.

Cheers for looking and I hope you're paints are behaving.
