By the way I think we have an imposter pretending to be our favourite Flint13

I believe that photo's cropped up here before, can't recall when but I think it was either here or in Flint's WIP thread.

Welcome into the Legion brother Pipistrello!

as mentioned before we can be quite helpful for a bunch of murderers, so if you got any more questions, ask away.

naming isn't my strongest suite which is probably why i'm still looking for a name for my warband's ship:wink:

but there are lot's of cool night lord warbands/companies around, so i'd advise you on checking them out for inspiration.

most threads should be linked on the roster on the first page.

From reading Retribution, it seems to imply that the wider Nostramo sector was scoured clean by the Ashen Claws. Nostramo itself was obviously destroyed and the Legion fortress on Tenebor (Nostramo's moon) was more or less abandoned anyway

Welcome to the skinning pits, Pipistrello!

Feel free to ask anyone here anything :smile.: There's a bunch of really inspiring Night Lords armies here, have a looksee.

Your fluff so far sounds cool. I like that you're aiming to be the underdog who somehow gets the prize. Would you like us to give you some naming suggestions for your captain and warship?

I'm also still looking for name suggestions for my warband's former black ship:wink:

Damnnation's Scream, Fury of Slaathissin, Glory of Midnight, Midnight Death, the Despair... I could do this all day, but do any of these sound good to you?

Edit: Maybe not Damnation's Scream. I rather like it, and I think I wanna use it for my warband/company ship.

that was quick:biggrin.:

thank you Corsovitt and The Psycho

i'm torn between Taker of Souls and Glory of Midnight at the moment, but i will wait for what the rest of our murderous brothers and sisters will present.

How about the Coming Darkness, the Nyctophobia, the Unseen Predator, the Child of Midnight, the Sin Eater, the Judgement of Blades or the Mother of Nightmares?

And hear I'm just like "Call it the Terrible."

Ah, but the Terrible what Kol? The name if a Night Lords warship should bring to mind feelings of horror, hopelessness and the promise of great suffering. It needs a certain macabre grandeur and theatricality to give it that special something, to turn it from a mere label into something that inspires fear at it's mere utterance.

There is no what. I was just going for something that was simple, poignant and to the point.

Besides, sometimes simplicity is its own form of horror. There's a reason a dude in a mask can inspire just as much as the burned man who lives in your nightmares or the unstoppable juggernaut who haunts a lake.

True, true, although personally I think of that kind of horror to be more the domain of the World Eaters or Black Legion, the Night Lords area of expertise lying in the more psychological aspects of horror, hence my proclivity for grand, sinister titles.

Thank you all for offering such great suggestions! My black ship will be called the Taker of Souls and if I get around to write some more fluff for my warband i'll add 2 smaller ships, possibly destroyers. Their names will be Nytcophobia and Glory of Midnight.

Some of the other names I might use for vehicles. and my converted stormwolf will be called the Terrible ;)

I checked through my metal play list and found these ones that (to various degrees) could work as names for a Night Lord ship.

Short ones: The Deadlight, the Bloodflower, the Scorn, the Puritan, the Poisonblack, the Pariah, the Vindication

Longer ones: The Silent Screams, the Nocturnal Rites, the Vanishing Light, the Halo of Blood, the Blood Tears

As long as we're on the subject, I have a few more:

The Danse Macabre, the Voiceless, the Crow's Feather, the Blade of Pain, the Skinner (thank you, ADB!), the Weeping Child, and the most frightning of all: the Woman Scorned ;)

Heh, metal songs and album titles are always excellent sources of grimdark ship names, I paticularly like the Deadlight, the Vindication (could be referencing Kurze's death) and the Vanishing Light.

Yeah those are probably the most Night Lordy of the bunch to be honest. And besides from being good for naming things I find that metal is also pretty inspiring painting music aswell. :biggrin.:
