Imperial Fists and Raven Guard feel ya!

I was surprised that IF didn't receive a special terminator unit actually, given their deep strike ability. RG make more sense than most I suppose...

Well, Between Templar Bros and Phalanx Warders, having a third special unit wouldn't have been all that fair. That said, we technically do have a special terminator unit between Storm Shields, Illastus Assault Cannon and Deep Striking.

But, we'll see. Who knows, maybe in the later books we'll be seeing more specialist units appear. Maybe in the book dealing with the Dark Angels the NL will get a section that'll add the Atramentar.

So I've got some cataphractii terminators on the way but I was wondering if I should hold off assembling them and wait for some NL specific termie parts/shoulder pads or even an upgrade kit perhaps?

Does anyone see this happening in the near future or ever for that matter?

Unfortunately no. The only legion to have gotten legion-specific cataphractii pads are the death guard. They got them very early and it seems FW immediately let go of that avenue of product development...

Meh... I think he looks a little disappointing. He has almost the same pose as Konrad, only mirrorred. And that chainglaive: how is that thing even supposed to work?

Not that I'm not buying the crap out of him, he's still a great mini. It's just that I had higher hopes for him. But after Khârn it's no surprise...

Who cares?! SEVATAR!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, probably just a bright contrast to the rest of the dark scene, paint him I Legion and all is well.

Actually the glaive makes sense. The little bayonet point hooks the victim in place to lower the blade into. The rest of it works as a guard to keep the chunks of meat from flinging into Sevatar. It's rather practical, if inelegant.

Yeeesssss finally I won't have to proxy Sevatar anymore!

As for the sculpt, I think he looks amazing. He's got a lot more flair than several other notable pre heresy models *cough* Abaddon *cough*

That sold it to me. OK FINE! I'm buying him :biggrin.:

Practical, if inelegant are keystone words of 8th legion combat doctrine...

But yeah, I'm loving Sevatar. As long as his helm stays on. That face has a bit of the "angry World Eater potato" look about it.

That winged helm is gorgeous though. It looks exactly like it should; a bigger, more impressive version of the iconic Night Raptor helm.

As to the White Scar, that was a super pleasant surprise for me. Everyone seems to equate the loyalist counterpart of the 8th legion to the Ravenguard, but I think they much more closely mirror the White Scars. Same speedy shock assault tactics focusing on maximum effect for minimal exposure to retaliation, but where the White Scars are all about the surgical strike the Night Lords take it several dozen steps farther into brutal and terror-causing.

**EDIT** Just noticed the Dark Angel helmet wing on Sev's groin guard. Perfection

he's looking good, but that face looks more like those crazy world eater rampager faces...

and maybe the victim being a white scar corresponds with his NOT red gloves. i think it's supposed to be a pre heresy version...

Huh... I feel like I should have noticed the not red gauntlets before now.

saw it when i was browsing his pics on the FW site and it got me wondering. i don't think it's a painting mistake though

Might not be Pre Heresy..... isn't that a Dark Angels helmet wing hanging from his belt:geek:???

it's depicting his appearance at Istvaan V, despite the White Scar. Sevatar didn't earn his red gauntlets until after the Massacre. My personal theory is that they were a mark of failure when he didn't stop Corax from escaping but that's just a gut feeling and has only circumstantial evidence to support it.

EDIT: To elaborate, we don't know when exactly Sevatar got the gauntlets. We only know he had them at the time of Savage Weapons, which was three years after Istvaan V. There is that much time for him to earn the Sinner's Red. For all we know, that was the first time he wore them.
