I see a Talon as a temporary company for a battlefield role for when Commanders are looking at the bigger picture. For a Warband id picture Talons being used to describe groups of claws with a certain task if the whole force is working at separate goals.

Talons are normally associated with the Raptors. The first instance the term was used in relation to the Night Lords was a short story in which it was a moniker for the Raptor squads. Ground squads being claws, Raptors being Talons.

 

That said, personal preference takes priority.

I can see that. So I have claw for infantry, talon for jump/assault infantry/raptors, what for armour?

Hehe, funny thing that. The only so-far named armor formation is called a claw too! :P

Be creative and modify it a bit to suit your needs. Heavy Claw, Iron Claw, Storm Claw...

 

In my 8th, I use Claw as a designation for mainline tactical squads and Dewclaw to designate support or scout squads.

I do em super lazy and paint em white and then glaze over :p So if the model is primed white, I make sure to get nothing in/around the eyes and plop some glaze down there.

The sad times are officially here my Warband is up on the ebays, as promised the links for all of my items are on my about me page so click my profile.

My items all have lg followed by numbers or letters, some like the Rhino Dark Talon and Boring Machines are in the store and need manual searching.

Very weird to be doing my job as a Warhammer ebay lister and to list my entire force, alas that is the last I have to do with them....

 

If anyone does win something of my Warband please let me know I would love to see what happens to them now the Warp has scattered them.

 

Once my new project has been funded and I start it I shall post images and extra points to first person to spot my homage to the VIII Legion.
