lamby
Well - as Sam Gamgee said to Rose at the end of The Lord of the Rings - I'm back! After dodging not one but two hurricanes in Hawaii... And arriving back in Australia after two years living overseas only to deploy to Rabaul on a warship a week later... Then fighting with Customs to get our sea containers cleared after months(!)... And finally having time to set up not one but two Man-Caves (as my son decided to invade the first one...) The WIP tales of Inqu][sitor have returned! Not that I really have much to show - it's taken days of pottering amongst the plastic to finally get all the bitz re-sorted to a state where I could actually start sniffing the glue... I mean, glueing things together again, but anyway, here's a quick WIP of the Ordo Xenos mech suit: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/1/667503-mech02.jpg Thanks for looking! lamby
Lamby great work and good to know your back with us in the down under Welcome back! You sound live you've been keeping VERY busy! I am looking forward to more of you work! Thanks Jaspcat and hushrong! Minor updates then... WIP mech - torso attached, and a possible gun arm tacked together: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/6/668823-mech03.jpg (I say 'possible' because I'm awaiting the arrival of some Dark Elder Hellion heavy weapon arms - my original plan was to have her holding a big gun in both hands.) Also WIPped up the start of another possible femme fatale: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/6/668824-samurai01.jpg Thanks for looking! daemonclaw 1 Back to top

lamby
Looking good as always! Cain21 - Thanks! Slowly moving along... The Samurai gained some feet: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/13/670255-sam2.jpg And some more junk in her trunk: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/13/670256-sam3.jpg A little work on the Rogue Trader captain's webbing: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/13/670258-pirate1.jpg Clean-up on her jacket, and some under-pinning on her arm before the sleeves get sculpted: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/13/670259-pirate2.jpg (Still at a bit of a loss where to go with her other arm - cutlass, hook-hand, knife???) Pearson73
These guys are looking great! For the Rogue Trader, I'd go for a cutlass.

Tiberius Cato
Maybe a hand resting a top a sheathed sword (like the SM Sternguard) would look good?
lamby
These guys are looking great! For the Rogue Trader, I'd go for a cutlass. Agreed a cutlass would look just dandy. Pearson73, Cain21 - Thanks for the feedback, and yes, a cutlass... if I can find or make a decent curved blade... Maybe a hand resting a top a sheathed sword (like the SM Sternguard) would look good? ArcticPaladin - as I've already committed to that pose for Inquistor Kallatar, I want something different, but thanks for the suggestion! Well, thanks to Tomas (Ammobunker) and MHVB (over on Warseer) the RT Captain is (possibly) going to be in a classic Commissar 'duelling' pose, with the left arm behind her back However I didn't want to cover that cool pouch, and I also want her to be holding a weapon, probably a cutlass (if I can ever find or make a decent curved blade!) So after a couple of frustrating nights where I basically ruined everything I tried to build, finally found a possible solution (of sorts) to that annoying left arm: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/17/671402-rtc1.jpg http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/17/671403-rtc2.jpg http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/17/671404-rtc3.jpg She may be a bit unbalanced with that rearward arm and enormous Sharpe Volley-Gun? Astute viewers will also notice she's gained a head. Tried a feathered cap... http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/17/671405-rtc4.jpg http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/17/671406-rtc5.jpg Mmm... thoughts? There's been progress of a kind on both Kallatar and the Samurai, however no pics tonight, so check back soon. Cheers! MagicMan
Looks fantastic, mate. Give her a bit of hair and she'll be brilliant. So, couldn't be bothered waiting 4 weeks for delivery of a $0.45 Empire cutlass from the US, so I trimmed down a giant High Elf sword, I think it was from the Dragon Princes? http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/18/671613-cutlass1.jpg Took some tube, diced off a bit and drilled it to make a basket hilt: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/18/671614-cutlass2.jpg Added a small bead as a pommel - might replace it with a skull... http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/18/671615-cutlass3.jpg And here it is in hand (so to speak): http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/18/671616-rtc4.jpg http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/18/671617-rtc5.jpg As promised yesterday - Samurai WIP: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/18/671618-Samurai1.jpg http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/18/671619-Samurai2.jpg http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/12/18/671620-Samurai3.jpg So far she consists of: - Dark Eldar Hellion feet - Dark Eldar Mandrake skirt - Dark Eldar Mandrake right arm - Vampire Counts Coven Throne mistress torso - Dark Elf Witch Elf head and hair - Dark Eldar Wyches armoured left arm and knife - Wood Elf Wildwood Rangers long blade - Imperial Guard shoulder pad Thanks for looking! SW1
Looking really unique but still =][=. Takes a lot of work and a good eye for pieces to do such a good job. Well done!!! Can't wait to see some paint on them. ;)
Olis
Is it me, or does anyone else think that the Rogue Trader needs a high collar and epaulettes (or maybe just one epaulette)? Besides that, the model looks great so far. :tu:

Quixus
Wow all those models are beautifully done. Some of them need rounder ears though.
hushrong
Looking sharp! Finding it very difficult to pick which mini is my favorite looking. I think the samurai is winning but its too close to tell. The Mech suit is also shaping up nicely.
