Not debt collecting by choice, though. Assigned to that campaign as part of contract my employer has with our client. That, and my experience at that office.

Back on topic...

Please excuse the formating, but typing this on my phone.

XII Legion, 187th Coy. 2nd Armoured Division (Heavy)

Command platoon:

- Legion Glaive 'Spear of Konor' (HQ)

- 2 Sicaran Battle Tank Squadrons (3 tanks)

1 Platoon:

- Legion Falchion (HQ)

- 2 Cerberus Heavy Tank Destroyers

- 4 Sicaran Venators

2 Platoon:

- Legion Falchion (HQ)

- 4 Sicaran Battle Tanks

- 2 Sicaran Venators

3 Platoon:

- Legion Fellblade

- 3 Achilles-Alpha Land Raiders

- 3 Heavy Support Squads (18 pax, ride in Achilles)

- 2 Sicaran 'Tempest' battle tanks(experimental pattern)

Jasp, that'd be the 3rd Armoured (Siege). Note that I will NOT be making such a force, just tossing some ideas around.

The Sicaran 'Tempest' is a close support, anti-heavy infantry vehicle. Main weapon is an Avenger bolt cannon, with Mauler bolter sponsons.

So, didn't do much on this over the weekend. Had a birthday Friday night & then spent a good portion of Saturday drinking & talking beer with friends new & old.

So, brief update:

- Will be concentrating on the 183rd Coy for the main force & portion of fluff.

- The idea is that the Praetors of Orpheus were founded out of the survivors from the entire 18th Chapter, rather than a specific company, with the majority of the members coming from the 183rd, 184th, and 187th companies, as these had the most survivors from the 18th Chapter.

- I like Jasp's thought of breachers + assault marines, so might try to concentrate on that for the infantry, with dreads & tanks for the rest.

I just had an epiphany: the Aurora Chapter also have a starburst as part of their chapter symbol. They're another Second Founding chapter & specialise in armoured spearhead assaults. Maybe the armoured divisions of the 187th could have a lower case alpha on some of their equipment....

So, my copy of Extermination arrived on Friday, and I spent the best part of the weekend pouring over it. After much consideration, I decided I'll be running with a mechanised force, and use a Stormsword for the Lord slot. Rought breakdown is below:

- Praetor in cataphractii.

- 9 man cataphractii squad in Storm Eagle.

- 2 Tac squads in rhinos.

- 10 man Tac support squad (with space lasers!) in rhino.

- 10 man Breacher squad in LR Phobos.

- 2 Sicaran battle-tanks, 1 Sicaran Venator.

- Stormsword.

This clocks in at around 3,250 points, so I'll probably add a third tac squad or a second FA unit (Javelins?) to round it out to 3,500. To reduce it down to 3k, will probably just remove the support squad.

This will still be the 183rd Coy, and will represent the 1st Armoured Echeleon of that company (using elements of the 1st & 2nd centuries).

Hmmmm - that's a lot of advanced wargear for such a.....primitive Legion wink.png

Looks like Brannsar needs to up its quota of shooty energy weapons - finally prove they're better than the cannon fodder that is the IV Legion.

The XIIIth are primitive? Keep in mind, oh brother of the Xth, that this is a Heresy era precursor to the Praetors of Orpheus. A chapter meant to have strong ties to the Mechanicum.

Yep, I have to admit I was inspired by yours & a number of threads on similar topics. I originally wanted to do an IF or RG force, but what can I say? Heathens, as he so often does, made a convincing argument. I'm not normally a fan of Guilliman'a sons, but nor do I hate them. The Praetors seem a good place to start for such a project. Who knows? If I do a drop army, I might do a Black Consuls precursor.

Eh, I'm just making sure that with all this talk of the I Legion having the most access to early issue wargear & the IV having their own Cybernetica, the forum still knows who's top dog in terms of technology msn-wink.gif
