Base colours down on the Predator, just lots of shading and highlighting to do so I'll probably have it done by Thursday since I'm working tomorrow.

 

Think I'll crack on with the Zerkers after that as they will be a bit of a tarpit since I dislike the models.

 

Then the Chosen will cross my table (well lap since I paint on my recliner :lol:) and finally the Dark Apostle.

 

At my current rate of progress I estimate around 2 weeks till I'm done :) so probably up until last minute then :lol:

Well, I guess if we're all talking about forgefiends this week I might as well post what I just finished:

Vow III is going slower than I expected (per the norm for me) but I'm still optimistic about getting 5k pts in before august.

Alright, I think my second vow is ready.

First up, answering forte's pledge of Kharne, is an axe-wielding, 160 point special character of my own, Folmarv Tengille, my counts as Huron Blackheart

As you can see, he's got the axe, the sigil, the familiar, and the talon/flamer combo.




Next up, to redress the balance left over from the counts-as Ahriman forte pledged with his first vow, is an overpriced sorcerer of my very own. Though not a special character, this black legion sorcerer is so blessed with the gifts of the gods that he easily tops even Ahriman's ludicrous points cost. How, you ask?

One Chaos Sorcerer of the Black Legion, with Veterans of the Long War, 2x extra mastery level, terminator armor, force axe, sigil of corruption, spell familiar, hand of darkness, eye of night, and last memory of yuranthos, for a total value of 335 points. At only 167 odd points per wound, he's quite a bargain, wouldn't you say, forte? All upgrades are physically represented on the model as shown below except vets, which will be represented via a black legion color scheme. For once the vet tax actually does some good! msn-wink.gif

And finally, something to match, and outmatch (in sheer points cost, at least), that pesky Stormblade forte's painting:

Its current rules in the Pandorax book have it clocking in at 575 points, plus 10 for the havoc launcher.



And so, to make it official,

I, Malisteen, answer the call of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete one Counts-As Huron Blackheart; one Black Legion Chaos Sorcerer with Veterans of the Long War, 2x Extra Mastery Level, Terminator Armor, Sigil of Corruption, Spell Familiar, Hand of Darkness, Eye of Night, and Last Memory of Yuranthos; and one Plaguereaper of Nurgle with Havoc Missile Launcher, from Codex: Chaos Space Marines, Black Legion: a Chaos Space Marines Supplement, and Pandorax: Apocalypse War Zone, for a total value of 1,080 points, to be painted on or before August 1st. Success will bring eternal glory to the Black Legion and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of Shame until the year-end



You're not the only one who can steal a guy's thunder, forte! Take that! I can't wait to see your weeping face once it's all painted and I'm lording it over you!

I ran out of likes before I saw your post. Love it. And the cannon on the Plaguereaper (and the rest of the work you've done to it) looks excellent.

 

You know, some might see your insufferably friendly replies as a rejection of my caliginous overtures, but I think we both know you're just playing hard to get, driving me to ever escalating heights of malice, seeking to test my limits as an adversary. Well, you'll soon find that I have no limits in hatred, forte, and I will make you rue the day you dared to test me, when I drag your broken, miserable shell from one end of this forum to another, so that all may bare witness to your fall, and come to see what I already see so clearly - a pathetic, squirming sycophant playing at being a chaos marine. Apparantly this year the "E" in E Tenebrae Lux stands for "ectocannon".

 

 

@Raass: shut your blasphemous mouth!  There is no fifth chaos god.  At least, not until the Despoiler chooses to shed the divine chrysalis that his His mortal form, and ascend to his rightful place as the one true god of the immaterium and mortal realm alike.  On that day, what once was sundered shall be made whole anew, and a Baptism of Blood and fire shall finally cleanse us all of the Sin of the Emperor's hubris, and the Shame of Horus's failure.

Minor deities do erupt from the warp from time to time, but they are usually absorbed by one of the four greater ones. And Abaddon a future Chaos Lord? I think not. The fact that he is blessed by all four of them says enough: Abaddon is basically their Bitch - he just never would admit it... I hope I haven't (or have? devil.gif) offended all Black Legion players now...

not i will never look at a chicken the same way

 

flying through the word bearers for my vow, just need to do a few highlights and some washes and flesh on 12 possessed. 8 csm's, 5 havoc's  a dread and a rhino. then i got a load of cultists and terminators to do -.- THEN i have to do a nurgle prince, GUO and Beast (realms of chaos era minis  :D ) three of them ghastly nurgle fly things another dread, spawn, land raider, chaos lord in power armour and a lord and sorc in termy armour. not much lol
