Betrayer, so the purple as I see it (provided that pics are accurate!) pretty much gives you the more canon version of the colour of how it is in the book basically? It looks like that here in the pictures, but was wondering if thats the case when you look at them upfront!

Whoa!! well i certainly appreciate that! i Am glad i can make build and paint things i enjoy that others can enjoy as well. Thanks again everyone! I have had a few people ask how i do different schemes, i can do a step by step if anyone thinks that would be helpful....

Planning a metallic alpha scheme soon (have the models and the airbrush but trying to decide on the paint) aso a break down of your recipe would be great. I've been following your thread for while hoping you would! Your stuff looks great!

No problem! Always happy to help. As i said earlier i have to finish up a secret Santa Imperial fist but i have next week off of work so expect alot of building painting and an i depth tutorial!!

The thread where we all brainstormed, Betrayer41 being a key contributor iirc, how to get a Metallic Alpha Legion Scheme should be relatively easy to find if you use the search function.

I almost suggested that but i have CHANGED alot since then and the results seem to be better so i figure i wold do a step by step with pictures.

As for Lucifer Blacks, I feel like the Tempestus Scions are my least favourite of the 3 you posted. The other 2 look amazing, though I'm not sure where they're from?

 I actually follow mordian very closely he just started some great purple alphas!  

 

I am definitely going with option number two for the lucifer blacks They are Anvil's after life range and the one below that is from Dreamforge!

Cheers slips, yeah I've had a good look through already. People seem to have varying degrees of success with the scheme. Betrayer seems have achieved a fantastic basecolour and it would be good to get some info on his experience with different paints/consistencies etc.

What if Minotaurs ARE Alpha Legion! Think about it, both use Greek iconography, Alpha Legion has been known to wear "dull bronze" armour, both have a great secret they try to conceal and Asterion Moloc is likely just a fake name for all their Chapter Masters sort of like the whole "I am Alpharius" thing!

And to comment on your theory - I had the same thought, but somebody a while ago explained to me why this is unlikely, but I still think it would be possible... I dont wanna start any innapropriate political discussions here for obvious reasons, but cant help at saying that for all we know, even Vladimir Putin could be Alpharius XD

Oh all I wanted to say was, that I am also a supporter of the idea that Putin is indeed Alpharius :D In other communities where I go frequently (paleontology and dinosaur-related things) people say that he will start cloning dinosaurs to join the ranks of his army, and he himself will be going into battle while mounted on a t-rex (because he CAN!)... but others say that all he needs to do is go back in time and simply ask for help ;) He even looks like Alpharius... I mean, we dont know of course (never sure when it comes to XX), but he has the look in the face and the attitude of the XXth :P

 

Anyways, I also wanted to share one of the things that I want to do for my first AL unit i will be modelling once all components arrive: there is a cool conversion on the internet for the Recon Squad, who are armed with sniper rifles, but they use multiple parts of different other kits and for the rifles themselves they use the Necron deathmark rifles. I want to go for that and will be using the Space Marine scout legs, power armour torsos and arms (but wont apply the shoulder pads, will simply just file them and shape the arms so they look like they got smaller pads instead) and use cloaks and hoodies + some hooded heads from 40K dark Angels Veteran kit. I decided my AL are gonna be super hightech and when I get around to modelling Breachers, I will use the BaC MKIV guys instead and give them NEcron Praetorian Shields and convert them about to fit the AL theme. The latter I've seen done on one of the marines from Iron Hands and it looks super cool! But for AL it will look even cooler due to them being all secretive and possibly even having a lot of xenos tech things hidden off in a private stash somewhere away from others eyes... In other words - lots to do!

Well, I've been considering ways to tie the two together as I have Minotaurs at the moment and i'm intending to start 30k Alphas probably after Christmas. I already used Dynat's model in my Minotaur force as the basis of a kitbash and I'm considering using the AL Contemptor as well. The idea of my Minotaurs actually being an undercover band of Alpha Legion is quite a nice one to that effect!

HAHA well this took a fun turn. I have finished the IF model complete with dead iron warrior so now back to AL. My Leviathan and Rhinos should be here next week. Also making a Heavy bolter squad b/c i have so many heavy bolters. Lots of fun things in store.....Also the Tutorial with pics. Thanks for all the support guys
