Weird though they may be, those Land Raiders are really well executed. Also, it's been a while since I've seen the Space Hulk Terminators done that well.

Yeah, those LR's are certainly something I wouldn't have done on my own, but the commission was a fun excuse to push myself out of my comfort zone (larger freehand than I'm used to, and odd subject matter). And thanks on the SH minis- they've been a real (or perhaps, "real slow") passion of mine, and I've never spent anywhere remotely like that much time on a board game set. (Suffice to say, that new assassin game will not be getting that sort of love...)

Nice. the free hand ornaments and powered blades look great. Isn't most of the Astral Claws' armour silver instead of grey?

On the armor, I basically never do traditional metallics, so I was going for a dull metal look, though definitely realized pretty early that it can just look grey- either way, I'm happy with the mostly utilitarian look with some ornamentation.

 

On the bases, that's just coarse sand and a couple washes over white.
