Loyalty and Mayhem - Aspiration

Hi folks, this is my first proper post here on the B&C despite several months of lurking. This topic's going to be a mash of both my loyalists (Gordian Sons) and my renegades (Warriors of Mayhem.)

So, first of all, I've got my loyalist dreadnought with my first attempts of sculpting and battle damage:

Any chance the pics could be bigger? Want to see the free hand but when I click on the pics it just opens a window showing the same size pic.

 

Edit: Nevermind I went straight to your gallery and looked at the pics there. Nice freehand it's a sledgehammer right? Definitely gets the point across.

 

Also I like the colors and the Dread overall. I find Dreads to be a cool looking unit and there needs to be more.

Hi folks, just restarted my studies so there's been a bit of a break. Anyways, I recently got some of the Evil Craft torsos, backpacks and legs; Kromlech Bedlam heads and pads, as well as some G.W. noise marine upgrade packs. Armed with all this I've cobbled together some chosen for my 'Warriors of Mayhem' renegades.

From left to right:

Champion; power sword; plasma pistol and chainsword; dual claws; special weapon/bolter and finally, bolter and power sword. Almost all arms are magnetized, so weapons are interchangeable.

Hopefully will get these painted up soon.

@Kael24: Yeah, I don't have the current rules, so I don't know how effective they are, but they are just so iconic and brutal. I'm thinking of getting of getting a venerable and/or ironclad in the future.

Your Warriors of Mayhem look very promising, I can't wait to see them painted. Those Evilcraft bitz are interesting, they remind me of the Chosen from the Dark Vengeance box in their styling,

Hi folks, just base-coated two of the chosen and begun the metallics. They now need details and washes and then we'll start to see some finished miniatures!

@SanguiniusReborn: Thanks, yeah they compliment them really well; I'll show some comparative photos when these guys are finished. One thing to note, though, they have an awful lot of trim/edge detailing. The metallics on this unit will take ages.

Hi folks, haven't had time to post for a while; but I'm thinking of altering the paint scheme of the chosen to fit in more with my other Warriors of Mayhem. (Change the gold details for bone.) I'm currently getting the paints I need for this, so in the mean time, I've started a new unit of noise marines...

Hi folks, thanks for the comments; I love kit-bashing to help differentiate between units and different armies from the same faction. Plus, it makes the models that much more distinctive.

Today I managed to get the champion from one squad finished:

That's a nice shade of purple you've got going on there for the Traitors and those Loyalists are looking smart, what scheme are you going with for them? Same as the 'naught?

@Brother Tyrax: Thanks for the kind words; the loyalists will indeed follow the same scheme as the dreads - blue with cream shoulder guards and silver detailing. Should have some photos up by the weekend.
