Argent aquila
Red Hunter!!!!! Yeah I have to agree on the Red Hunter, that splash of color will make your base pop. Plus it's not a nobel Templar then . Great job on the model too, it's a nice blend of bits that sells the fallen look but isn't quite as over the top as your straight up raptor kit. Red Hunter it is! soon as i get some more black and the free time i'll get cracking on the new guy and the breachers! And thanks for the input Andrew! i was really hoping to tone it down on the chaosy stuff from those first assault marines, it was my first raptor kit and i went nuts with it! definitely going to invest in another for the parts, and with my birthday coming up in T-minus 10 days, who knows what i'll get my engine oil encrusted servo claws on. Thanks for looking! Argent aquila
Really great posing on the new ones . Thanks brother! I appreciate it! gaurdian31
Sorry to be a downer but librarians can only take storm shield if they are in terminator armor, which sucks. hushrong
I have missed a lot of great updates! I am definitely digging this assault squad. Looking forward to seeing some more work done to them so I can get to work on some of my own. Â As for hammer heads, you just need the plain old ones loyalists tote around? How many do you need? I have a few I believe that are just sitting around that I won't be using. AndrewChristlieb
Well for the head on your weapon I'd go for the second from the top. That thing's pretty wicked looking. Â On the list... I'm a bit lost. Tech marines are HQ not elite anymore and they're 65 points, also the SAV list can only take two fast attack not three. if you're taking seige mantlets you really want max size squads. They're still a bit too pricey imo @5 points per model and they're really over priced @10. As noted above you must have terminator armor to take a stormshield on the filthy witches. Thank you! hope i can help ya with new ideas in any way i can! oooh, i think i've got a verdict on the assault marine, but i definitely want a squad of siege marines armed entirely with thunder hammers, so i'll keep that in mind whenever i manage to get my hands on more shields.... I much appreciate the offer brother, definitely would like to take you up on it sometime! Sorry to be a downer but librarians can only take storm shield if they are in terminator armor, which sucks. Hahaha, thank y'all both! i think i'm liking the halberd-aztec head as well, whadda you guys think? ">http:// ">http:// and as far as lists, all i can say is OOPS! Thanks for pointing out all that! @guardian31- Thanks for that! guess i'll have to just keep the techmarine with the whole squad and hope my opponents don't point ap2 at them.... That is, if techmarines till have 2+ saves? @andrew- sorry to confuse! in the SAV list techmarines are actually Elites choices! points wise i'm uncertain on as i'm building with a 6th edition codex atm, the 7th one is at their house.... --On the FOC, i've talked with my friends and they allow me to run the standard CAD, the SAV list does in fact only allow 2 Fast Attack, but also throws in a mandatory Heavy Support, which i also lack. (if i were running the SAV i could remedy the lack of space by moving the Fire Raptor over to heavy support on the codex Marines list, that i'm certain is legal. ) --The plan with the siege marines is to stick both squads with a librarian and techmarine into 2 of the Storm Ravens, as the Marines gain Bulky because of the shields and the Ravens only carry 12, i'd be at full capacity. (the third Raven will carry the siege master alone so he can loiter around most the game away from any angry Leman Russes on the ground.) Here's the modded list, thanks again for the input, and any further ideas are more than welcome! (i threw in a general outline of my battle plan too, if that helps any!) Aerial assault. Argent aquila
Wow guys, Thank y'all so much for the feedback! Yeah that new marine looks great with the Aztec head on there, contemptor is looking great so far. He fits in well with the assault marine/raptors look. Agreed, now all i need is to find the parts to start the last man of the squad. Can't wait! Thank ya! the idea was for him to fit right in with the lot of them, as i have a soft spot for dynamic posing and grisly trophies. Awesome thread, suscribed. Welcome aboard brother! Glad ya like whatchya see! Omg. That dread...unbelievable!!! Very cool. Awww yesss! That dread is pure beast mode! Thanks guys! Hope he meets expectations for the chapters' overall theme. Great dread brother, although I'm not really feeling it with that tail... Oh? If i may, what's throwing it off for ya? If it's a proportions or size thing, i am planning on tagging wings and a modded power plant/jump booster to the back of him, which may help in that regards... Dat chain whip! What was the base model for the Contemptor? Looks like the Night Lords Legion Contemptor with a lot of the detail shaved off. Thanks for looking! And Psycho is 100% correct, it's a desensitized Night Lords dread, don't worry about the details coming off though, i got plans. The feet on that dread are tremendous. Thank you sir! I took the landing gear hubs from the stormraven kit and the fore landing gear feet off the stormtalon kit and mounted them on a spherical piece of resin to fit the socket, and the front toes are from the Ironclad dreadnought kit. Glad ya like it! For reference, this was my original drawing for the model i did a good while back: ">http:// of course practical changes and ideas that came to mind altered what it's becoming, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing! the next big hurtle i have now other than time is that i need to get my hands on the Morghast Archai (or Vargheists) Kits for a set of wings and possible extra decorations. Does anyone know how large the Archmagos Draykhovac skull is? and where to possibly source it individually? Because it looks promising as a candidate for the head but i don't have the money to get the whole model just for that little piece.... Also, i've begun tagging on some littlle things to adorn the hull, any ideas for bits to add are more than welcome, i'm keeping it tentative on the back section of the dread because i don't know how the wing thing will work out just yet. ">http:// ">http:// and a shot on the base so far, may reposition it to be higher so that the front of the dread will be easier to see from the fron perspective. ">http://http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/gallery/image/177630-image1/'> again, thank y'all so much for the positive feedback! Means a lot! Actually, it's the non-uniform nature of it. Some of it is smooth and some of it is sectioned mechanically. Perhaps if the transition wasn't so abrupt, that might help. I don't know. Hmmmm, ya i see whatchya mean! I did chop off most the tail for a canoptek wraith for the mechanical portion leading into where it meets the body, so what i may do, now that you gave me the idea, is cut out more portions of the necrons' tail and sandwich them into the organic looking half of the tail, this can reinforce the idea of it being non organic and allow me to alter the positioning when the wings get mounted to the body (if need be.) Also, i think painting it black may help. make it look like some osrt of sleeving that's torn over time perhaps? I'll mull around with it, but i'm such a huge fan of the end of that tail that i can't bear to part with it. I don't think the dread would have the co-ordination to properly use a weapon like a flail, let alone a more complicated one like that. I get that this is a game and all and reality isn't really a match but still :P just my little non-important view.
