Last night and today, I begin work on salvaging one of my first assault squads, along with some new recruits. The original 3 plasma pistol build is replaces with 2 flamers.

Magnetism of the sergeant is complete. He has 2 hand flamers for now, this will probably end up as a hand flamer and power sword/axe.

In terms of badassery twin hand flamers might be the best idea I've ever seen :cool.: .

It's a shame that unless you're against T3/ Orks they probably wont do much :sad.:

You'd be surprised, the last game I played, the guard player issued more charges than I did! Flamers would have come in handy there. 4 template weapons will probably put you out of charge range of weaker stuff, so useful to be able to have a nasty overwatch!

I took my brand-spanking-new Storm Raven out for a spin, finally. Against a Space Wolves list with a Land Raider, Grimnar on the Sledge'O'Doom, and a Storm Wolf. Ol' Stormy accounted for the Raider, two hullpoints on each of the Sled and the Wolf, and a handful of Grey Hunters, surviving to the end of game with one hull point remaining!

Unfortunately, we were playing Eternal War missions, and I lost out on objectives.

Updated my 4th company log!

I managed to magnetise a sergeant, undercoat Lemartes, 2 assault marine sergeants, 1 tactical squad leader, the banner for another squad leader, re-attach plasma pistols to my marines (see blog), finish the highlights and powerfist for my reclusiarch.

Woot.

Painted up another test model for the Knights of Blood detachment.

This time I started with a leadbelcher basecoat, khorne red for the, well, reds.

First a thin blue and brown wash to give the metal some variation, followed by a heavy nuln oil wash.

Highlighted with leadbelcher and mephiston red.

Highlights are sharper than they appear in the picture, crappy camera phone killed a lot of the detail as well as the hue I got from the colored washes on the silver parts.

Compared to the first test model:

I like this one better. Took more time as I had to wait for all those layers of wash to dry, but that will be less of an issue when painting more than one at the time.

Today, I finished Captain Nathaniel, my Malakim Phoros counts as

Fluff and more pictures in my WIP thread, I wouldn't want to clog up this one by posting them here.

Today in Bangles, I did this...well, more like in the last two weeks I spent my time getting to this point.

Sicaran just about ready for paint.  I'm going to do hairspray weathering on it, so here it is with its rust coats in place.  The hull sections are all to be painted separately, to make masking easier.  The red/rusty sections will be black and the more silvery ones will be red; it's a bit difficult to make rust colors show up on reds, so i'm trying to go with the silver contrast.  Turret and cannon cowlings, as well as smoke stacks, will be black.

And the Deimos Rhino-back: base coats are all done.  Need to do touch ups, washes and glazes as well as all the details.  Haven't done the other side door; going to put another sawblade on it.  Flash makes the highlights on the black look a little excessive.  They're not that bad.

In Rhino configuration:

My fledgling 31k Flesh Tearers 4 co. will be getting even more vehicles over the next few months.  Fire Raptor is washed and ready for prepping and a Land Raider Crusader is ready and interior is partially painted.  Storm Raven is built and cockpits are started with paint.  Drop pods are either partially built or in boxes.  And maybe at some point I'll get back to finishing my Deimos Predator Executioner....

7th Assault squad progressed to low tabletop standard, just the bases, metals and company/squad insignia to go!

The last 3 days I've been putting together a model per night. I bought 2 boxes of death company recently and put the first box together almost exactly as pictured in the codex, on the cover of the box, etc. The other box I wanted to be completely different. I also need a "counts as" Lemartes for an upcoming 2k point game. So here is the lemartes and one of the DC troops. The bits used were gifted to me when I ordered some BA stuff on Ebay. The seller sent me a ziplock full of sanguinary guard bits and other random bits. I still need to do a bit of work on these, cut down mold lines..green stuff..etc. But I'm pretty happy with how they came out.

oops forgot to put his jump pack on for the picture. Oh well. I have another unit I did with a grey knights halberd bit to be a counts as power lance unit. I'm going to have 2 power lances, a power sword, a power fist, and a crozius in a 4 DC plus Lemartes squad. Should be fun.

Today my snail pace at painting has seen me nearly complete my 2nd mini.

He's based on Forge World's Iron Hands Mk III upgrade set and is amazingly well detailed, a pleasure to paint. I still need to do the weathering and the base.

A bunch of tacticals in various states of completeness.  Need to build a few Heavies for them, and have a few rhinos to paint up for them as well.

Those paint pots take me back.... Is the paint in them still good? Also the models look awesome.

That HB looks great Luca.

Very much looking forward to seeing these finished up.  Kind of makes me sad that my own tacticals lack Death Company decorations here and there; that's the price you pay for starting painting your army with your Troops way back in 3rd Edition..

Finished the bulk of the torso parts for my Knight (updated in my log) and started gluing. Came across a minor issue slotting the shield and stubber into the side mounts of the torso, but a bit of cutting/filing looks to have solved it. Not sure if it was a poor mould or the layers of paint made the slot thicker. Finshed torso shots coming, and then maybe some work on my terrain piece.
