Realistically, very little beyond sanding down the traitor legion symbols on the shoulder pads, and an arm swap on the repeated SB/PF dude.

I think the winged blade is already an awesome heraldic item for the terminators. I think beyond that I clipped a DA symbol from the ankle of the assault cannon dude.

The wings and feathers that are all over them fit well with the BA theme (well, moreso the theme of my Blood Angels), and other trinkets are battle honours. You can see the (very) early work on them in my plog

Recognise these guys?

They still needs shade and highlight, but theyre good. These guys are going to be the models I actually use for Space hulk. Theyre a bit more robust than the ones that come in the box, and the pegs on their bases mean they can be removed from 40mm bases very easily, without the faff of magnets.

Last few days have seen progress on the Sicaran.  Turret is painted and weathered, as are the exhausts.  Cannons are weathered, but lots of metallics left to paint.  First coat of black is on the hull and tracks, but shades tomorrow, then reds, before weathering.

Some pics:

Also made progress on the Rhino-back: red filter was applied, exhausts are painted and weathered, as is the 4 co. door.  Lots of cleanup to do and the other door too.

I would have fix the simbols to look more Blood angels... but nice work.

A bunch of tacticals in various states of completeness.  Need to build a few Heavies for them, and have a few rhinos to paint up for them as well.

Very much looking forward to seeing these finished up.  Kind of makes me sad that my own tacticals lack Death Company decorations here and there; that's the price you pay for starting painting your army with your Troops way back in 3rd Edition..

I you painte over black primar i salut you, it is hard to paint in red... and i agree 3rd Edition tacticals look plain but with all the extra bits you can fix them... or at lease put some detail on them.

Like I said before, many icons are not chapter specific, in my opinion.

I mean, Sanguinius has more right to a Sword and Wings icon than Lion El Johnson ever did.

Yeah, the winged stuff work for BA most of the time, but the broken sword thing is distinctly DA..  While building my DV bikes I managed to scrape off most of the swords and Ravenwing badges from the boltguns, helmets, backpacks, but left the difficult ones like the ones on the shouldarpads and wheels in place, as well as the bike wings, because, why not.

Yea, true, I'll probably try and reforge it with GS on the next batch!

I think the winged sword would also be pretty awesome personal heraldry for the 8th Co captain...

So!!!! Sadly I had to take away the joy of painting the Sicaran from Decoy (who had gladly offered) because I wanted to use it in a tourney, and dont play with unpainted models.

This is what i have so far....

More progress on the Sicaran.  All shading is done and filter was applied to the red, so the hull is ready for weathering, which will take forever, I suspect.  Tracks need painting and need to finish the cannons and do some touch-up, but it's well on the way.  Even got gubbins and badges painted for it.

Totally forgot to even build the sponson, though.  Doh!  They're still on the sprue. :dry.:

Well done to you both..  I never understood how people could like this tank though..

O_o  REALLY?!?!

Dude, why?! You're like the first/only person i've met to say that! What your thoughts?

The whole front of the tank looks ugly to me, had it been the same turret on a LR chassis, I would have been OK with it, but as is, the whole slanted front thing just doesn't do it for me..  Personal preference that's all :)

O_O amazed at how similar the scheme is

'Tis a good scheme, no?  Need to do something to break the red up.  I actually even started doing what you did, putting some color in the central hull where you've got the gold.  I laid down the yellow for some hazard stripes and had some paint peeling when I was taping for the black, so I just covered it all over in red (you can see how the red there is lighter).  Maybe I'll go back in with a brush and include the hazard stripes to break up the red some more.

I really like the look of the Sicaran chassis.  It looks...fast and aggressive.  I'd love to add a Venator some day.

Wow! Nice sicarans guys! Almost makes me regret ordering a fire raptor over these tanks.. next time maybe

Painting time was harder to come by these last weeks but tonight I managed to start painting sergeant Lorenzo from the space hulk set.. still a lot to do on him but I'll try to finish it before I focus my attention on that Horus model I just received!

Quick question for you guys. When you put the hull together, did you then just glue it to the track parts or pin it as well? Had a look through the kit yesterday and was wondering how to put it together.

I've been using 2-part epoxy adhesive for a lot of my big stuff recently, and I'm hoping that will be enough to ensure a strong enough bond that would withstand anything but a full-on drop kick. Do you think that would work, as I really don't want to pin this bad boy as well?

I pinned the front glacis section to the bottom hull and the top hull section to the engine section.  I left both track sections separate for painting.  Haven't finished weathering yet, so I haven't done final assembly.  I think I'll just superglue the track sections on to the hull...seems to be adequate support for glue, and the fit is pretty tight (I did some greenstuffing to ensure that), so I'm not too worried.

Can you share a paint list? That is nice.
