GrandMasterAralia
This weapon is an affront to the Omnissiah with it's breaking of the sacred rule of 6! No wonder it didn't survive into the 41st Millennium :PHehe.. I actually think the volkites are from mars originally, so the the 5" range intervals the volkites use are closer to the omnissiah than the Terran 6" inch intervals... But who am I to argue with the commissariat! ;) But personally I think the auxillia would be awesome as storm troopers for my elysians since they are supposed to be boarding specialists. So the militarized astronaut look fits the bill... And damn those flamers look AWESOME! WarriorFish
Yeah they're up armoured so would look good there but they're a bit to "retro sci-fi" for my armies. Could be good for Inquisitorial additions too. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297861-solar-auxilia/page/3/#findComment-3899437 Share on other sites
CoffeeGrunt
Yeah, they look cool, but I agree that the retro-futuristic, almost Steampunk look isn't for me. walter h
I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels the look is retro astronaut,or more grade B,scifi movie. That being said they would make great ,Imperial Navy troops. WarriorFish
That's a good idea walter, they'd make great Navy troopers for boarding actions and the like! CommissarZac
So I caved and bought myself a Leman Russ Incinerator. My question is can 30k stuff be used in 40k or is it only for "Friendly games". Working on a Rouge Trader army and thought this would be a nice addition. Malus Trux
In Q&A's its been said the two are compatible though 30k and 40k are internally balanced and not balanced against each other. 40k can be played between 1000 to 2000 before it starts getting dicey and around <750 or 2500+ it can start breaking depending on armies. 30k is meant to be played at 2000+ starting out and starts breaking at <1500. Play games between 1500 and 2500 and they should be fun for both sides. Look over Lords of War before you include them but otherwise the rest is largely fine. WarriorFish
Yes, there shouldn't be a problem but to be on the safe side always chat to your opponent first and show him its rules and cost so he doesn't have any surprises :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297861-solar-auxilia/page/3/#findComment-3902479 Share on other sites
Jolemai
So I caved and bought myself a Leman Russ Incinerator. My question is can 30k stuff be used in 40k or is it only for "Friendly games". Working on a Rouge Trader army and thought this would be a nice addition. As it stands, there are no rules for 40k Volkites (i.e, they are 30k only). This means that they are for friendly games only unless you get permission. Personally, I'd love to face them :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297861-solar-auxilia/page/3/#findComment-3914826 Share on other sites
CoffeeGrunt
The Volkite Russ sounds nice, basically a superior Exterminator with +1 shot and a fancy rule. Still, it's got meh AP and is much more expensive than the Exterminator. Gorgeous model though, really want one as an Executioner! WarriorFish
HH Baneblade, very nice! The Pounder
Looks to be the Stormhammer...I must own it! Anyone in their right mind would want one! CoffeeGrunt
Interesting. Looks like the barrels are the only real difference, should be simple to magnetise. A nice gesture by FW to be fair, beats buying each one separately! WarriorFish
Yeah, but it's cool either way. I wonder if an enterprising Guard player might one day use the Solar Auxilia tanks for their 40k force? Would certainly give them a distinctive look! Marshal Argos
Yeah, but it's cool either way. I wonder if an enterprising Guard player might one day use the Solar Auxilia tanks for their 40k force? Would certainly give them a distinctive look! I've wanted to do exactly that since I saw the new Bassie. Now I just need to finish up the other 10 projects I have open, and convince the wife that the tanks that I have are worthless and these are better.... Either way I really like where FW is heading with the SA armor. WarriorFish
Yeah, they're noticeably different yet still very familiar. Something that FW seems to have really gotten the knack for doing all the HH stuff.
