2nd BA SH termie sgt with thunder hammer has been modified to fit in with the legion look and now has sword and Stormbolter options.

Taking Halloween off so no conversion work for a day or two.

Finally Book 1 has arrived, survived Halloween intact so Custom Volkite Chargers being designed/built today.

The first Volkite Charger made, so its time for me to crack on with the terror squads Arachnophobia (Spider themed) 3rd Claw and Ophidiophobia (Snake themed) 4th Claw.

Its hard to see but this stretched piece of plastic..I mean skin has the Legion Symbol scratched into it as will all of his squad.

Some minor modifications to the Night Lords Hero model who will be leading the Nercophobia/Xenophobia themed terror squad.

Im not planning on using them in a list at least not yet but I magnetised some Lighting claws because they look awesome.

Just a quick update on the painting front. Volkite Charger number 1 with paint thrown on it.

Ill take a proper lit picture when the full model is painted. The masked Glow effect is okay but I may put the shielding on after so I can make the inside super bright.

So it begins...

 

Painting that is, decided that the Squat Engineer Guildmaster/Techmarine should contrast the Night Lords with a nice bright orange (Ill follow suit with his Engineer bodyguards). So all basecoated pieces are being worked on at the moment.

Anywho, looks like you're off to a good start. Forgive me if you've mentioned it before, but how are you going about painting your own version of midnight clad?

Army Painter Platemail Basecoat > P3 Armour Wash > P3 Exile Blue > Army Painter Blue Ink Wash.

 

I will then use GW Nuln Oil where needed and start my Purple Lightning Bolts (I like the contrast compared to using blue)

 

Rest is picking out details like adding brass bits to armour or painting flesh and skulls.

 

That's how I did Zaqar The Untainted anyway, is that what you were after?

My dwarf miners arrived and I converts 4 Squat Mechanics for my Squat Iron Father. I'll try and get pictures up shortly.

First I have corrected my lack of Squat knowledge (my Night Lords will nickname them squats while they call themselves Demiurgs) and renamed the Count as Techmarine With Servitors With Lascutters.

Using the White Dwarf In Space Helmet and some Lego Tools to modern them up, I like the oversized tools look myself.

Some slow progress, first Headsman of Terror Squad Arachnophobia brown spider helmet marking (8 legs etc) and the shoulder pad is lighting in a web pattern.

As you can see I have added gold trim to bring the Headsmen out more against their squad.

Okay sorry for disappearing off the grid! I got distracted with Predator and Friends and bogged down with Don't want to paint blues.

 

So I decided as my GS moulds were not working I would use Maxi Mini Matter Displacement Guns with the end snipped off for Volkites.

So Squad Arachnophobia was built fully last night.

Spider Webs, Archanids, Venom, Creepy multiple eyes will be the paint theme for these guys (eventually), im going to try and keep up with momentum and build another squad shortly.

Anyway here is the start of my Ophidiophobia (Fear of Snakes) themed squad aka 4th Claw (Squad Venom). Heavy Chainswords all around! I have gone for a more custom approach for each Heavy Chainsword to reflect the state of decline in the legion. The hand guards are trimmed down Khorne Berzerker helm ears.

When painted the BA blood drops will become Venom Drops, im going to paint Snake Scales and Skeletons on the Armour similar to Alpha Legion designs.

Okay so I have not had a chance to do any work on my warband due to manic full hands on deck at work and spare time ive been playing with some AvP Predators.

BUT! I am back on track I now have 9 days off and just purchased a Dark Talon to convert into a Strike Fighter count as. So expect me to hopefully finish one of the following on my to do list:

• Terror Squad Venom finished
• Deimos Inspire Vinidcator/Rhino converted
• Necrophobia Terror Squad started/finished
• Terminators Converted at least to 5 man team
• Dark Talon To Night Lord Standard
• Turret work for the Scorpius Whirlwind
• A lot of painting!

Hopefully will knock more than one of these off my list but id settle for at least one.

Wow day one of 9 off and we already have a small bit of progress after getting all my other jobs out of the way!

 

First I got Glue and Rapid cure before I run short.

 

And now I have 2 more Heavy Chainsword Terror Marines for Squad Venom.

 

Must say im having fun with custom Heavy Chainswords and look forward to painting them up.

My reward after completing this squad is putting together NL Pilot Hellscream's stolen and modifed Dark Talon Strike Fighter 'Ascalon's Ruin'. Im looking forward to cracking on with something big.

**For you knowledge buffs Ascalon was the name of the Dragon St George slayed and seeing as im letting my personal tattoos become freehand artwork on the Dark Talon I thought they should share the name**

Ive tooled up this bad boy to match my lists Strike Fighters load out and added some Night Lordy bits and made field repairs.
The back has gargoyles where the ravenwing logo is but I didn't take a picture, ill update tomorrow.

 

So next is the last Terror Squad to finally make my list playable (god this year has slowed me down)

I have almost finished my Terror Squads and await their transport from Ramshacle, unfortunately I have been forced to put on hold the final touches by food poisoning.

Hopefully I will have comepleted them before 2015 rolls in and then I have no excuse for not painting them.
