Just a quick basecoat on the bulk areas and first layer on the Standard of Vindication. I was afraid he wouldn't take to being Midnight Clad but all is well so far.

The Banner/Standard now with hour glass is the Von Carstein Vampire Counts banner. 

 

I like it as it has several motifs that are Night Lord like:

• Winged Skull Sat on a Throne like a Judge
• Hour Glass that represents that Vindication comes to all
• Blood and Skulls as Vindication is bought with Blood and Death!

Opps may have bought Star Wars: Imperial Assault but at least I don't really have to build anything.

 

On Warband related stuff before I get too distracted, my Champion based on Krell? Well I was out bid way over the RRP so I've placed an D/O order through my work place so will pop up at some point in the future. I have gathered parts to build a Guardsman on the base trying to flee only to be pinned by the Nostroman Man Catcher.

Going to play around with Plasticard tonight so hopefully Atramentar shoulder pad picture soon.

 

I'm thinking of out sourcing my Night Lords painting to get the generic boring colours done so I can just detail them, but we shall see on that front.

Heres an update on the pads.

 

• Vul Gesh will be the only Altramentar (The idea of one fits my warband more fluff wise) who dispises the weak and corrupt blaming them for the downfall of the legion.
• A top pad has been added.
• A thick trim is now drying and will be shaved down to look more the part.
• Both Legion Emblem and an Nostroman Lion will be added.
• The gap at the back near the cape is intentional and will be covered by extending the fur to give a more hunched posture.
• **EDIT** I have put the under pads more to cover the side than the art work as I hate the box look that pose gives a model rather than the feel of offering real protection.

Its a good thing that Vul Gesh's only interest is imparting his wisdom and experience onto those he believes will help build the legion back to its former glory, or Zaqar would be out of a job.

Okay so Icons have been added (I went for a Grumpy looking Lion to paint gold to reflect his personality), Fur has been thickened but is about 90% done as I need to extend it to look like its covering the shoulder pads in full (I wanted to wait for the current lot to dry first).

So as you can see he is taking shape, once the fur cape has been finished I believe he should be ready to go to painting.

On a modelling related update:

Still working on Vul Gesh slowly.

I have put paint on the shoulder pads and the gold looks really good and the pads look the part.

 

Paint Stripping a Fabius Bile model who will serve as a basis for my Apothecary Belet-Seri The keeper of Souls.

 

I am still awaiting for Krell Before I start on my Champion Ninu but ive got parts ready as I will be making his armour look more Power Armour compatible.

 

I know its not alot but im sure ill photobomb again soon!

Okay this project will be over soon. Due to financial issues of increase rent and the tax man also wanting some of my hard earned money, this combined with me feeling like Night Haunter disappointed in what the VIII legion has become.

 

I want to thank all that have looked over my blog and commented. Special thanks to Flint for all her advice and B'Raass for the Banner that led to the last conversion. I'm cleaning up half built models which will be put onto eBay to hopefully fund a smaller scale project so I will still be posting just no longer in Midnight clad .

 

I shall bear the Sinners Red Gauntlets for my shame.
