Was kinda inevitable that the claws would get nerfed, as said by others just too good and doesn't fit in with the current meta. Too good?! Blender dreads are only OP on paper. The DC fist dread was generally a lot more useful, claw dreads almost never worked and the few times you got off a long kill streak it didn't really make up for all the games where it did nothing but eat a melta or some bolter shots on its rear AV. It was fun unit, but it hasn't been 'good' since 5th. :) Depending on stats and how they are priced DC dreads could still be viable but it's definitely not a unit that needed a nerf. Apart from flamers I mean. Well you can't snap fire a heavy flamer, but since it's an assault weapon that's rarely going to be an issue. ML on the other hand can snap fire krak or flakk. While blender claws were fun to run, let's be honest, they rarely lived up to their potential. While it was theoretically possible to drop 12 wounds on some poor schmucks, most of the time the claws just resulted in 4-5 wounds. And if you were unfortunate enough to be assaulted by a 2+ unit, you were stuck. I like the rumored changes, although it will be interesting to see how they are differentiated from blood fists. My guess is that blood fists will go away entirely. Blood fists will go away because they will be switched to powerfists just like every other marine dex. However, it's my birthday today so she's easing up a bit, despite explaining to her that it's a very exciting time to be red-coloured nerd... she just rolled her eyes. Looking like it's going to be quite a costly time too. Deathstorm ordered and I actually quite like Karlean. Definitely grabbing a box or two of the new Tac kit, which looks brilliant btw, and I think the wife and son got me a relic Sicaran... So lots of painting to do methinks. Other thoughts: Talons - a shame but to be expected. Won't stop me from fielding DC Dreads though. Grapple - points not withstanding, this does feel like a bit of a lame change. Original rules were fun and quite situational, but I seldom ran grapples so won't really miss them. Quickening - could be quite good and synergistic. DC/Honour Termies - if true, the HG version could be quite interesting, and despite the fluff discussion I could probably come around to running DC in TDA, however... current Termies can be pretty woeful for the points now, so these new units would have to have a notable boon to make them regular inclusions. The painting/modelling possibilities should be good though, coupled with Space Hulk conversions etc. Dante re-sculpt - always welcome but I still want to see what they could do with a new Mephiston. Overall, I already feel quite spoilt as a Blood Angel, and there's still potentially more to come. Remtek Posted December 1, 2014 Share Posted December 1, 2014 Somewhat sad about the BA primaris if the rumor is correct. Hope it gives fleet to the whole unit. New codex spells have generally been weaker compared to BRB so guess this is to be expected. Blood Talons going away not a huge issue, since there are so many ways to deal with infantry.
