Great stuff so far everyone! It's looking like it's going to be another good month for the Loyalists, so I may have to further entertain the thought of doing some Death Guard... biggrin.png

I'm having a significantly better month than I did in January, hobby wise, and I seem to be flying through stuff at the moment. Here's a quick and dirty pre-washes WIP of my Apothecary, which is very much inspired by disease's Death Guard one.

As ever, comments/criticisms would be greatly appreciated!

This is my first Pledge and I have a baby due this month, so it may not happen but I will pledge a new Sicaran with a 10 man Tactical Support Squad all in the name of my glorious Primarch Ferrus Manus, and in the name of the Emperor. The Flesh is Weak!!!

A baby huh? Trying to sell them to get more resin goodies I see tongue.png

You know what they say, "Ya' gotta make babies to sell babies." Dark stuff man.

Started on tanks and Support Squad hope to have something up soon.

What's that depthcharge? You want to pledge some heresy era dark Angels? Why, feel free sir! :p

You're making a Dark Angel commit to something? :P

I'll see what I can do, but sometimes I get distracted by "other business" ;)

Lol Kurama that Ed Edd and Eddy picture

Ok, early work on Praetor, what the hell is wrong other then a lack of arms. Is the chest decoration too big?

me planning on trying to steal this model

MoM - the night is looking great so far - the dark grimy red is fantastic.

Stru - I really like that apothecary - excellent conversion idea!

Hydra - I think it's great, adding the arms and shoulder pads will balance it out and you'll be set.

Seems fine to me, although what you might be seeing is that the neck is perhaps a little too long - Mk III helms tend to sit pretty low in relation to the torso's collar - but I'd wait until you mock up the arms with the pauldrons before you think of altering anything

Progress! And they're done (bodies are, at least):

I experimented with weathering the MK VI Marine at the back - I like how this has turned out. I'll weapon and pad them first and then chip the edges and dust the legs.

Now, for the weapons and pads!

Got to work on my recce marines tonight and got a test fig done, naturally taking a break in between wash drying times for some well timed R&R.

I tried to base the scheme on an existing IF scheme so they would be identifiable as Fists, but didnt scream "I AM YELLOW LOOK AT ME, I LIKE BEING SHOT TO DEATH!".

They are snipers after all.

So I went with the pre-primarch scheme. Identifiable, unique, and most importantly for a sneaky sniper team NOT COMPLETELY YELLOW.

His second last wash is drying now (view-able in the picture) And has yet to recieve his highlights, realistic(ie not completely everywhere) combat wear and tear and finished basing.

What do you guys think?

Very nice; although the splashes of white are probably bad news for a snipers point of view too!

Dimdim, I think he looks great, I always thought that the recon marines would have special armour that would dim a certain colour when in stealth mode, well it's what I told my self when I painted RG to explain all the white on them!

Thanks for the feedback on my Praetor, I think I'm rushing ahead in my mind and deciding it's not working before finishing the build. I wish I had tried to sculpt the chest detail would have been a more natural fit then. Maybe in the future I'll update him. For now I need to concentrate on finishing the legs, torso, and head.

IHF, the head is only tentatively placed, the GS is old (this is a recycled torso, my last Mark III untill my FW order arrives on Friday), I plan to build a gorget but the head will sit closer to the body when done.

One question, Dark Angle style robes, or big ass cape, or both?

I've just read a bunch of Storm Wardens Fluff on the Wikis and them being Imperial Fists successors in all but name (they dont know their founding/Primarch anymore) has me kinda wanting to incorporate that into the legion.

Mostly due to how they handle Combat, Honor, the whole "1v1! THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!" and their vets wielding Man-Sized 2-Handers (Power Claymores, Thunderhammers, Power Axes, etc.) gel very much with me.

The thing is, their colors are Blue and Silver/White. With my Imperial Fists scheme already having lots of Black and Yellow, how would I incorporate those colors without making the model too busy?

The obvious is the "One shoulder in Blue-And-White" but I need a bit more than that...Little help fellow frater?

This would also permit me to justify making a 5th Apothecary/Primus Medicae (3 standard, 1 in TDA) and give him a Thunderhammer :p

...

Obviously, this will be done after I finish my March Vow as well as my 3 Land Raiders currently up for completion this month.

I've been brainstorming a model but I'll need the GS tools before I can get around to it.

I was going to take a mkIII body and use the bare mkIII command head and put a flowing robe on the guy with the hood obscuring most of his face, except for the sneer. I'd have him brandishing a thunder hammer in one hand and gesturing with the other pointing to his chosen opponent.

He'd be my champion model I was envisioning.
