KBA's Heresy Thread

Whipped up a conversion on the BaC termie character. I wasn't feeling the cape on the model, and one thing led to another:

While I like that helmet, I thought I'd try a MK III for fun, and now I'm not sure:

Thanks for the comments, brothers :). Fenbain, I definitely see what you're saying. Little tinkering should do the trick. I ended up building some of his friends:

The Cataphractii plastic kit is nice, but I found it pretty limiting overall, pose-wise. Got to factor in gravity with the pteruges.

But it does add to the feeling of heaviness of the suit, so there's a tiny silver lining there. Nice part-usage too.

Khodessa has some friends: emissaries of the Mechanicum and Navigator Houses. I also went with a WFB vampire countess, as her costume fits with Khodessa's quite well. I was going to use a dark elder slave, but I always found those to be overly gratuitous. Now, to pull out that shiny new GS cable maker :)

Will you be altering the collar at all? I find the tall Navy collars from 40k useful in conveying who the person is supposed to be. Epaulettes might be a good idea, too. :)

Ive thought of it. As is, it does look a little too vampire countish. I'll have a look in the bitz box!

Put the cable maker to good use. I'm using the German brand Bee's putty. Fun to work with! I went to work on a crazy/silly idea that I've had in my head on how this Dias presents Khodessa's Warrent of Trade, his token of Emperor-given power. Some of you may have noticed the Dias is actually positioned backwards. I needed a spot for my cuckoo to pop out of the clock:

Threw some guns on the dais! I feel it also really helped balance the platform out:

I was going to put a pistol in Khodessa's hand, but liked his unarmed, seated pose better. Still, I felt he should have something close by.

And the mini-chooms are there for Olis. Wanted some volkite somewhere on this thing :)

I like how the rogue trader is shaping up, the platform is very well armed. What head are you going to use for the rogue trader?

Khodessa heads come in two tempting flavors:

I really like aspects of both, but am leaning towards the Dark Elf head. It's got that eccentric feel to it that really meshes with the concept of a Rogue Trader in my head. And it plays off the Vampire countess quite well. Speaking of which, I've begun to alter her a little more:

She'll be getting a little more work done, and maybe something done to that face :)
