Finished my Deredeo and 5 Templar Builds. 10 Seekers to go (since Kor'Vesh so graciously decided to not include 20 tac marines to lighten the load.

Will take pictures once everything is done!

Excellent progress and my pledge nears completion. Here's a rough photo as proof:

http://zedmeister.co.uk/resimg/hh/AL-Odds-150415.jpg

The original 15 have their shoulder pads done. Chipping is also done. Just some weathering powders to be applied to the legs and some flock and scrub to be added to the bases!

May I haz your recipe? They look fantastic, I love the turqoise/blue you got there.

Thanks bud - here is the recipe. It's slightly changed from when I last posted it to make it slightly quicker. You will need to airbrush to get the effect. Also, I tend to use Vallejo Game Air colours as they are already nice and thin and are quite a timesaver for airbrushing and they're very handy for the usual hand brushing too:

- Using an airbrush, prime with Vallejo Black Polyurethane primer (or any black primer that bonds to resin well)

- Brush on a 50/50 mix of Vallejo Game Air (VGA) Chainmail and Gun Metal

- Do a top down zenithal airbrush of VGA Silver

- Airbrush a thinned 25/75 mix of Tamiya Clear Green (25) and Clear Blue (75) on the whole model

- Airbrush the upper panels of the armour in thinned clear green

- Airbrush the lower panels of the armour in thinned clear blue

- Do a tricky top down zenithal airbrush of VGA silver mixed with a little VGA Electric Blue - this is tricky. Try to avoid speckling or a grainy finish, but you need to be pretty delicate and not drown the model in this colour

- Do a tricky top down zenithal airbrush of Tamiya Clear Blue over the silver zenithal coat. Make sure you cover the silver and blend it into the previous coats

- Do an Asurman Blue wash over the whole model to give the blue a tint, shade and to make it look more coherent

- Then paint the details - Metallic is basecoat VGA Gun Metal, Badab black wash then paint on chips using VGA Gun Metal and then Chainmail

- Hosing is Vallejo Model Colour basalt grey and then thinned black is washed over

- Eyes are red using the usual gem painting method

- Weapons are painted black with a little VGA gun metal mixed in to give them a slight metallic sheen

- Pouches are Burnt umber, griffon sepia wash and then burnt umber/bone mix to highlight

- Chip armour edges (knees, elbows, places where they will probably scrape and catch) with chainmail

- Varnish

- Dust on weathering powder

- Base

- Varnish to seal everything

- Job done!

Spartan built and ready for painting. Small confession; the hull and track units aren't stuck together. The photo literally shows the Spartan balancing together. I'm a sucker for painting interiors so its easier for me to leave it in sections.

I'll leave it to kor'vesh to decide if it's worth the half points.

First 5 finally finished, done, completed and ready for combat!

They've been weathered and based finally. Now need to fix the pigments in place. This was my first attempt with pigments and dusting. Quite an effective look, but definitely need more practice. Got some Ammo Pigment Fixer ordered, so just waiting on that. I'll test it on these and, if it works out, roll out the pigment across the rest of them. The final thing will be a light matt varnish spray dusting to fix the pigment without washing it away.

well up here in de Nord much the same but barreling into a jar of rye makes it harder to colour inside the lines and my wee Mrs. would look askance if I was cloistered in the basement drinking liquor by myself at 10:00 am on a Tuesday lol. I have seen you're IW and it is a pity you live on the wrong side of the globe cause it would be much fun indeed to face you're excellently painted army across a table with my Dornishmen much respect to you're skills sir

I'd make the robes a bit thinner or, if its not too late, try BCK's cloaks & Tabards tutorial using tissue paper.

Also, put more wires and tech-y bits into the volkite if you can, while it was pretty smart the way you did it, the flamer canister and hose kinda make it look wonky :p

Otherwise, s'all good.

Well, just got an email from the lads up at forgeworld, and it looks my package is officially lost in the mail. They are sending me a replacement, but it looks like I wont be able to get my building part of my pledge complete this month.

I will however spit defiance in the face of the alpha legion operative who redirected my package to mars by completing all that I capably can so expect pics of that blood angel, my fists and the Deathguard consul soon, maybe tommorow. Im also planning on stealing lionofjudahs idea to take the blood angel plastic kit and make another 10 tacticals from that and FW mk4 bits (dont add that to the pledge lol). Hope thats alright judah!

Death to the closet loyalists,

I OwlandMoonGuy, add to my previous monumental accomplishment, i.e. a single EC tactical marine who was really a color test, with the following,

I hereby pledge to complete an Iron Hands themed Praevian,

as yet in the month of April.  -OMG

Fixed how? Have they excised the devil spawn in its resin soul?

I baptised the resin in blood and tears bottled away from building my storm eagle. I then etched the dark texts of a thousand souls cries of better fixing parts. Then I washed it in the tears of Austrailians who's bits have been lost to the "warp". The Spartan then literally magnetised itself together.

Here's my reaver captain built.
