As much as I appreciate them actually taking it to the next level, I personally wouldn't want anything bigger than a Reaver. It's just going to be too massive to field, considering that Reaver is a pretty big model already as it is. Money-wise, I don't think I'll be getting any of them anytime soon, so it's just going to be superheavies for me lads biggrin.png

I wonder if the new GW Knight Rules will be included?

I think they have to include them, since GW are the ones who are responsible for "40K stamping" all of their projects. But that's as far as I know.

Forgive the Threadomancy. For some reason the notifications on a few topics I've subscribe too have had a hissy...

I postponed my 30K topic until after more XIII Legion stuff is available. I'm looking forward to seeing Guilliman finalised happy.png

I've recently changed my mind about that, but I'm really looking forward to the next book (which I'll get before books 2 - 4)

I didn't ask about potential rules unfortunately. But I'm sold on the looks wub.png

Same here! wub.png

I must admit that I'm not sure where Praevian/Delegatus Consuls fit in a Legion's layout. Are they below a Praetor? Will it be worth me holding out for these rules before modelling a HQ (or HQ's laugh.png )

Considering Praetors are supposed to represent the leaders of batallions / chapters / even larger formations, I'd assume they're the highest ranking HQs outside of the unique legion characters. That said, Delegatus Consuls seems to be assigned to have pretty free-form jurisdiction, so it's entirely possible one might be assigned command over a force which includes a Praetor-ranked HQ.

In terms of the Praevian Consuls, I'd imagine in most Legions they'd be a component of the Legion Forge, so they'd kinda exist outside of the normal hierachy.

So, I take it if I get what you've explained (or at least, that I've understood correctly blink.png ) a Praevian would be someone like Phratus Auguston, or Gage, with the Tetrarchs being outside of the typical chain of command?

Sorry, I'm still trying to get my head around Legion organisation, specifically the XIII.

I thought the Delegatus were temporary assignments, where the expertise of the marine was deemed good for the mission at hand...

Swap Praevian for Preator and you'd be right. IHF made a tiny mistake!

Praevians are those in charge of Legion Assigned Battle Automata. They're kinda like Techmarines but with a Very Specific Role, I guess.

If Google translate is correct Praevian means "Guide", so it makes sense I suppose smile.png

Edit: Anyway, rather than take the topic any further away from the actual subject - I'm looking forward to seeing what's in the book happy.png

Indeed.

If you look at the Terran model, Consuls are the specialists and advisors just below the commanders of Chapters and battalions, but are not themselves in command.

What we now have are two examples of just what kind of specialists and advisers the consul rank refers to.

I do not believe we have encountered a character like that. Perhaps Maloghurst or Alvarex Maun.
